So I'm starting to dig the pins. Are there any pin collectors out ? Are they popular too and do you usually trade?

We actually got the entire first set of VM pins by trading for them at the pin event at WDW in June, even got the Cast Member pin as well.

Im a pin trader too and collected the whole VM pin series 1 and have 1 extra if anyone has any to trade from the second series before they got pulled from the shelves.

They pulled them from the shelves because they were paired together, ex. mike was with pongo in every package that include mike and pongo. And for now you cant.

I hadn't heard about that - no wonder I couldn't find them! Are they coming back? :look:

Yes, they are coming back. All they are doing is mixing them in the packages so hopefully there will be more randomness to the pins so that in any given location you may find more then just 2 pins. They should be coming back shortly.

Pin collector here. We started collecting the pins before the first vinyl was releasted, although we don't have a complete set. Looking forward to the next series when they return to the parks.

CM at the pin store in Tomorrowland DLR told me they were pulled because they put the same exact pins in a box, making it sound more like there were duplicates. I thought that sounded unbelievably stupid so at least this other explanation only makes them sound partially stupid.

They have several blind box sets of pins now (other than Vinylmation) so wouldn't their supplier know how to box these?

One would think so but I am leaning that the vendor had a slight lapse in pin boxing protocol. Hopefully they will have this corrected soon!

Anyone seen Urban 2 pins in the past few days? One release date from the OPT site says 9/27/09, and I know the Park 2 pins came out a few days early, so I was just wondering.

No sightings yet, but I am off and am planning to go and check out a few locations to see.:thumbsup:

Also, I was at the Boardwalk the night before last and they had the Park 2 pins back in stock and out for sale! Anyone looking for them can now resume the hunt, at least at WDW!!:happy::clap:

I got both sets except didn't get the Asian writing one from Urban 2. Hoping people will be wanting to trade perhaps at the D23 expo.

I checked out Downtown Disney today but they are not in yet. The manager at Pin Traders said they got the email that they are due and can be put out once they are received in the location so they are expecting them any time now.

Tomorrow I will be at both Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and will check both areas and post tomorow night.:D

I swung by Disneyland for a few hours today and picked up some of the newer VM pins. The reintroduced Park 2 pins look to be going fast. Downtown Disney was already sold out (Pin Traders and World of Disney). I saw them available at PT Flea in DCA (only 2 or 3 boxes on the peg but I did not ask if they had more in the back) and at the Main Street Emporium and Store Command at Disneyland. As far as the urban 2 pins, does anyone know why the box shows a chaser? 9 pins are pictured and then the standard chaser picture is the 10th. The pin not shown on the box but included in the set is bowling. Are they actually making fewer of bowling than the others or is it just a cute homage to the figures?

It's weird as they showed all the pins on odpt.com and never made mention of it being a chaser.:shrug::shrug: I know they added the "limited release" logo to them but there is still no clear answer to that. I will see if I can find out more when I go to D23 Expo and the pin team is there to question. Hopefully they will have the Holiday series out on display and then I can definitely point out the "limited release" and get an answer!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Just wanted to give everybody who collects the pins a heads up that there are fakes (scrappers) out there.:mad: I traded with someone through the mail to obtain the last urban 2 pin I need (green bear). The pin they sent me is an obvious fake with poor finish on the front (dips in the paint, brushed look) but the most obvious is the back. The embossed mickey heads on the back do not go all the way to the edge of the pin. Instead there is an ~1/8" border between the edge of the pin and the start of the embossed mickey heads. So be careful if you're not sure of the origin of a pin you are acquiring.

Now I still need to track down a green bear (plus a little green man from park 2). :doh: :bang:

I had a similar experience with an ebay seller, I was pissed but they gave me a full refund.

I'm a pin collector. As the pins are in a mystery set it does make them very tradable. However they are rack pins when it comes down to it and that means that in the foreseeable future they won't be able to reach the twenty-thirty dollar mark. They are very tradeable though, and are beautiful. Now that they are limited releasing the pins they are probably going to be a more formidable trader. They are awesome. nuff said.

At D23 today, I spoke to a CM in charge of pins (sorry, not his official title, I was just directed to him as the man to go to). I asked when we'd see Urban 2 at DL. He said, "Isn't it there already?"

I mentioned that there was a problem with the Urban 2s so they were recalled and then he nodded and remembered. He said he knew they were at WDW now and that they should be here so he would make a call to get this in motion. He was nice and struck me as smart and capable, so I expect you'll see them very soon.

We went to EPCOT on Sunday and picked up some VM pins. Out of the 10 Park 2 we bought we got 8 different ones. Out of the 6 Urban 2 we bought we got 5 different. We also saw all the 9 inch Holiday VM. They looked nice but we just don't have room for them. We will pick up a case of Holiday 3 inch sometime later this month when we get to Downtown Disney. That is the only place that gives a dicount for annual pass holders. On a totally different note: They had signs up at the entrance stating if you renew your annual pass before the end of the year you will get an additional 3 months free. I asked and they said that it is good for seasonal pass holders also. A pretty good deal. Bill

Park 3!?!?! were available at the towers gift shops in World Showcase at Epcot.

I couldn't believe that park three is out so soon being that park 2 hasn't been out very long. Its starting to become overwhelming and expensive since it seems if you buy more than one box at the same location, you get the same combination of pins....lame. Hopefully they are actually fixing this for future releases.

I think the pins are just as cool as the actual vinyls!

i only bought one box of park 3 pins because I was afraid that if I bought two in the same location, I would get exactly the same ones, lol. That has been my luck.

I got Rizzo as Mickey and the jungle cruise elephant pins. I was happy with that!

I saw them again at the not-so-scary party last night, but didn't buy them. I just got the new event vinyl and some more holiday series vinyls.
