I have a sinking suspicion that the Jets will crash and burn this season. They snuck into the playoffs last year and then had a nice couple game run. I believe Sanchez will take a step back. Also, the Revis distraction and adding a guy with suspension and legal problems in Santonio will be a hindrance. The Pats ,as much as I hate them, are lying in the weeds getting ready to strike.

Shaggy
08-06-2010, 09:07 PM
Revis or no Revis the Jets will have another year of great defense. As far as the offense your right I dont see sanchez getting the job done. But the running game will still be dominant.

Anders Limpar

Losing a corner who is as dominant as Revis is, is a huge deal. Very rarely can you remove a player who is that good from a side and not suffer a setback.

I'm not so much a football fan as I am baseball, but from what I hear (and I listen to A LOT of sports talk radio and they all say the Jets will be nothing without Revis. Now that's not to say they will go 6-10 or something but not playoff bound. I somewhat agree with this in the sense that Revis was a HUGE key for them last year and losing someone like that can be a huge blow

As a Patriots fan, I generally hate the Jets, but I can't help from watching them this year. They're team is just ridiculous this year! And after watching Hard Knocks, how can anyone hate Rex Ryan?

I too, am a hardcore Pats fan, so naturally I hate the Jets, Colts, and Dolphins to the bones. I do watch hard knocks and I have to say as much as i hate that pompus jerk, he is entertaining. It's funny to watch how full of himself that he's so oblivious to how ridiculous he sounds and acts. That guy seriously needs to lose some weight cuz it's really getting out of hand.

No the Jets obviously isn't superbowl ready and not even close. As evidence showed in the preseason game against NY Giants, their first string starters are strong as always, this is well known. But when it came down to the second string team, they got killed and down right embrassed by a rookie wide reciever. Sad, this team is clearly not superbowl ready now, and in my opinion won't be ever for this season. They just don't have the depth that a team needs to last the whole season and win the championship. Being confident is nice, but being pompus is a huge no no in my book. That's why I love my pats, no trash talking or starting wars or claiming that they'll win the Superbowl before preseason even begins. Rex is a joke to me, a jester, someone who tries to bark but you simply just don't take seriously.

None of the Jets, Cowboys, or Bengals will make the Superbowl despite how much hype they get from ESPN.

agreed! thank you for pointing that out! TO is a washup, past his prime, and he'll revert back to his Diva ways mid season. Romo will still be an unproven QB and stay in modiocracy never to achieve greatness, and Jets will always talk big, and fall hard, and always lucky enough to cruise into playoffs only to fall flat on their faces.

revis, good or not, is a huge distraction..and a money grubbing self absorbed clown, but besides that, i think the jets will be good, but not super bowl good. sanchez is showing signs up continuing to grow in the league and is taking the reigns as the leader of the team. picking up lt may help in a few situations, but being a chargers fan, ive seen lt's best days, and they aint ahead of him. just doesnt have the wheels any more

None of the jets, bengals, or cowboys will make the playoffs...Rex Ryan just did a really good job of hyping the crap out of his team and got idiots at ESPN to believe and bye into the hype. Cromrartie is garbage and that was evident on Monday night. Sanchez is so bad that the jets coaches wouldn't even let him throw the ball

I say, it's going to be an underdog team who takes the Super Bowl this year, like the Saints last year. Of course, I'm a born and bred Redskins fan so I'm used to rooting for the underdogs "lol"

I'm a born and bred Saints fan. I'd LOVE to see them go on to another Superbowl, but I know that's pretty hard to do back to back. I'm just glad that we finally have a team that can compete at the level it should after watching them lose for the first 25 years of my life.

If the Saints don't make it, I'd like to see either the Ravens or the Redskins go on. Both of those teams have some local boys (Ed Reed, Dawan Landry and Ladarius Web - Ravens and LaRon Landry and Kareem Moore - Redskins.) Although I think the Ravens will be struggling with what I've seen from Flacco so far. The first game left much to be desired.

I just really hope this season people (ESPN) FINALLY realize how over-rate Romo is. All the hype he's gotten during his career has been for NOTHING and at some point they're going to have to stop pointing fingers at other players and mistakes and hold him accountable.

Im not sure who said it, but I think they hit the nail on the head by stating the Jets locker room was like a frat house....They lack discipline and will not be winning their division, let alone making the playoffs. I dont think they will live up to the hype...

I know "offense wins championships" but I'm sorry, you guys can't be depending on Mark Sanchez and that offense. The handful of games I watched were so boring seeing as you guys couldn't put any points on the board.

Anyways Tom Brady marched in with two rookie TEs, Danny Woodhead, Deion Branch from the graveyard, Brandon Tate and absolutely spanked the Jets 45-3 if I need to remind you. How's that for defense?

Even though they clinched a playoff spot due to the Jags loss, they don't deserve it one bit. They don't deserve it at all cause they sucked massivly the last like 5 weeks (and most of the season though their record doesn't show that). They will lose in the first round because they are just that bad

CrustyJuggler
01-17-2011, 08:44 AM
The Jets beat the Pats fair and square, but they were only able to beat Manning with the weakest O-line he's ever had by a single point. That Colts team was riddled with injuries and the Jets barely pulled it off. I hope to god that the Jets win next week and then get decimated in the Superbowl, especially after all the poor sportsmanship the Jets displayed last week (calling Brady obscenities out of jealousy, saying that they're going to end Welker's career, etc). People like that don't deserve to win - they deserve to lose big.

The Patriots have built a great pattern of decimating opponents during the regular season and then choking when it counts (how many times did we see Brady scrambling and flustered when he had 2 or more open men to throw to - only to follow by a couple running plays?). They need to fire their offensive coordinator and hire some real defensive talent like they used to have in Bruschi, Vrabel, Harrison, etc. I expected this year's team to go 9-7 from the beginning and when they fooled us into thinking they could go all the way after a 14-2 season it really stung knowing that they actually were the team that we originally thought they were.

The Jets just flat out outplayed the Pats last night. The Jets defense was steller and Rex did a great job of running the ball enough to eat up the clock to keep Brady off the field. They also had some sick catches in the second half. But they just outplayed the Pats, plain and simple.

This Pats team dropped Td's, had two miscues on special teams, and had Brady throw an int on a screen pass, so this wasn't the Pats team we are used to.

They are also hypocrites for calling the Jets classless. I guess the Pats didn't mock Shawn Merriman by doing his lights out dance. I guess they didn't taunt our fans in the '04 AFC championship game. And the arrogance of the seven minute drive in the 4th quarter where they showed no urgency and called no timeouts. And then didn't call to's late in the game. Jog on Tom, jog on Deion, jog on Bill, enjoy golfing.

Congrats to the Jets.. they beat my team..

As much as I love the J-E-T-S, I don't think they can go all the way without a consistent offense. The defense has proven to be as dominant as some of the best in the league. But the offense, still somewhat suspect at times and that wont get you the hardware.

I'm going to try and keep this post forum friendly because what I have to say would not be pretty if head in person.

So anyway.... the Jets just plain sucked! They didn't show up the first half at all. They played with no energy whatsoever. I'm sure Rex ripped them a new one and got them fired up for the second half though not without its flaws. The 2 key plays I thought were: 1. the fumble by Sanchez and the drive at the 1 yard line before the safety. The fumble was the difference in the game and I still think it was an incomplete pass. With the other thing I mentioned, there was just so many things wrong about that play I can't even begin to go into it

My favorite part was watching Rex Ryan toss his headset to the ground and yell obscenities when they couldn't convert the final 4th down. I think I replayed that part 3 or 4 times.

Being a huge Steelers fan, that was my favorite part too.

I laughed when he did that. He deserved to lose after the way he coached that game

well, the jets are champions this year of nothing. The pats are champs of the afc east, the steelers are afc champs, and the jets are, well...the same old jets. the only thing they are good at is losing championship games

I don't really hate the Jets as we don't have any previous with them. It was just the season-long Espn hype, Hard Knocks, Santonio would still be a Steeler if he didn't light up, their arrogant attitude, and Rex Ryan that made the Steelers victory even sweeter than it normally would have been.

They have some interesting questions to answer in the offseason now regarding who they bring back and who they don't.

If there is any consistency to Roger Goodell he will suspend Mark Sanchez for the alleged stuff thats going on right now (family board). Certainly not conduct befitting a pro footballer and thats what he suspended Big Ben for.
