Why are my new clears Dusty

So I just ordered some more clears about a week or so ago. When I opened them there was a fine light brownish dust all over about half of them. How does this happen? They were all sealed in boxes and foil?

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yup, I just got some from Disneystore.com too and quite a few had dust on them right out of the foil. It is strange. I thought maybe I was just going mad from that new vinyl smell the clears have lol. Maybe they sit around a while before they get packed up and the dust is just more noticeable on the clears?? i donno...

I really can't figure it out. Unless that there is so much dust floating about in the factory prior to being packaged and something about the plastic just picks it up.
Or maybe they were displays that not one wanted and repackaged

I ordered clears that came VERY dusty too. They had a powdery film all over them and they smelled horrible. I had all the foils and boxes sitting in the trash and actually had to move it outside because the smell was so overwhelming.

For some reason the clears REALLY stink. I bought several multiple times from DS.COM and never had the dusty issue - plenty of stinky though ;-)

It's because of the material they're made of. It's that raw new plastic smell. Every clear I've ever gotten has the same smell, it doesn't bother me. The one that really bothered me was the DVC figure...... now that one had one nasty stench

They sold out on the clears on DS.COM - in fact I needed a few more and bought them from menserman here. The clears are really interesting and you can do some creative and cool things with them.

you may recall that I made a menorah for Hanukkah this year - lit up with LED's - was a HUGE hit with the kiddos!!
