That's right folks! For those interested in possibly being a contestant for ABC's Wipeout and a chance to win $50,000 (the grand prize), there will be a casting call at ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney of Anaheim, CA.

Here's some exact info on the two days they will be there:

Date: Saturday, August 29th, 2009
Time: 11am-2pm
Location:
ESPN ZONE - Downtown Disney
1545 Disneyland Dr.
Anaheim, CA 92802

Date: Saturday, September 26th, 2009
Time: 11am-2pm
Location:
ESPN ZONE - Downtown Disney
1545 Disneyland Dr.

However, for those that can't make it to Downtown Disney on those dates but are still interested in joining, you go to other casting calls around the Southern California Area. In addition, you can send an application online for them to consider you. If they like your application, they will contact you for a live audition. (links will be provided below)

Requirements to participate are as follows
- Able to Swim

- Legal US resident

For more information, visit: http://abc.go.com/site/casting.html?#wipeout or http://www.mysticartpictures.com/nowcasting.html

Enjoy!

P.S. If you're curious if I'm going to try out, I already sent in my application online and will go on with the process if they decide to call me back :)

Haha. I doubt I will get on. I'm sure that there are millions out there, but there's no harm in trying, right? Haha.

But surely, I will let you guys know if I'm on haha...

I love this show. It is so incredibly dumb but I end up laughing so hard I snort. I definitely can't enjoy a beverage while watching this show.

I've always wondered though, why even bother trying on the qualifier? Why not just fall off intentionally and swim to the next obstacle. Seems like it would save a lot of time.

Haha. Who would watch it if they just swim to the next obstacle? There's no fun in that :) haha

And I am sure that they tell all the participants that they must atleast try each section of the obstacle before swimming to the next spot.

Looking toward this new season. It really is a funny show. I just do not understand when they bounce off the huge rubber balls and the punching balance beam how they are not hurt. The finale round is really difficult. I think it starts next week

Man...I saw this thread and got all stoked...only to see that it was for last year...bummer!! I love this show!! It's kinda like my guilty pleasure...watching people bounce and get bent in half by the torture devices the producers concoct!!
