I just picked it up today! I haven't gotten around to play this yet though I'm pretty sure my laptop is going to explode. Has anyone played this yet?

Not yet, but I really wanna get it. I was such an addict to the original and part 2. This version looks to have so much more. Let me know how it is. :)

I want it soooo bad. I don't really have a whole lot on my laptop so I'm wondering if it would run fine on here.

I hear the program is like massive! I am kinda worried on that. I think my laptop can handle it though, not my PC, dang World of Warcraft!

Jason told me about this website that checks your computer's system to see if it can handle it. I Googled "can you run it" and clicked the first link that popped up. Apparently my laptop is well over the minimum requirement to run the game. :) So guess who will be stopping at her local Walmart tomorrow?

Woo! Let me know how it is. I hope to get it in the next couple weeks if it's good.

I'm not too interested, but I am definitely glad that the Sims can now fulfill their needs for themselves, from what I've heard. But The Sims 2 was selling so much, it could have lasted another decade without making a new full on game! I've made up a theory: whenever a baby is born, they are immediately given a copy of The Sims and Dark Side of the Moon.

Just went out and bought it on my lunch break. I can't wait to get home and give it a whirl!

I went on their site and they have this teaser thing where you can make a minimal character, I like that you can pick personality traits now too.

I so want the collector's edition but can't seem to find it. It comes with a sims3 mousepad, and a diamond-blob usb drive!!

So all I pretty much did with this game last night is create 2 Sims.

Tonight I'll try to get into actually playing with them and doing stuff. I really need to get a mouse for my laptop because using the touchpad is awful!

I put Sims 2 Life Stories on my laptop forever go, and remember the touch pad being annoying!

I'm having a hard time figuring out what is different from this game compared to The Sims 2 other than the town. Then again, it IS EA, the kings of putting out the same product multiple times and slapping a different number on the title.

The only thing I can tell that's different is that you can actually go walk around the town and stuff.

I get too bored with the Sims too fast to really play them.

My wife loves to play them, although she never did play too much of the Sims 2, and she's since forgotten we have Spore, but Spore was kind of lame except for when you made your creature.

Dont Fall for the collectors edition. Looks awesome but not worth the price or the 2 gigs of memory. Got the standard runs amazing and i cant wait for an expansion pack.

I have sims for PC and 360 and I love building houses. The 360 version is amazing cause the controls are very easy and you can even get achievements but the only problem is that they have this thing called a fire meter which only lets you put so much stuff into a house because more stuff would be a fire hazard. I took about a day building a replica falling water house and once finished with the walls and windows i found out that i couldnt put any furniture into the house because of the fire meter

PM if you want to see some of my houses from either version

I love playing the Sims! I just got the Generations expansion pack and it is really fun. The only thing I don't like are these creepy imaginary friends the kids get! They freak me out!
