Walk/Don't Walk is priced at $79.95, so this will probably be the same, unless they started production before Urban 4 9", in which case it may still be $74.95.

I hate that they are raising the prices for the combo sets, btw. Just gives me more reason to look the other way each time one comes out :mad:

I've always thought the 9/3 were overpriced, and then I was bummed when I missed out on getting Boo (probably never see her in my collection :pout:) So needless to say the 9/3 combos have been a very bitter experience for me. If things keep going this way, looks like Piglet will be the lone 9/3 figure for me.

I really hope you get your Gurgi tho! I feel the same way by feeling bad about having to keep asking favors from members, but I'd hate for you to resort to Ebay. It's scary there when it comes to 9/3s...

I've been intrigued by this set since it was announced, not sure if I would get it or not. Hopefully we'll see some really good images before it is released online. Regardless, it is great to see vinyls continue to be outside of the normal subjects for collectables.

It really depends on the popularity and the way it is distributed. I think it is a fairly popular set and will probably sell out at DLR the first day. WDW on the other hand is a different story.

Yeah it should be only released at d-street. im not from florida but based on past releases you might have to get there early for this set, but not like camp over night early lol.

I don't think it will, but given the sudden rise in popularity of 9" who can say? There have been a couple LE 9" editions larger - Jack Skellington and Gingerbread Man were 800, Tiki mouse was 750, and I think the upcoming Disneyland posters are supposed to be 1055 (last I saw, not sure if that was confirmed).

The hype seems a little thick on this vinyl. It certainly won't be another Ghost Host that's for sure. There are too many in the edition. Its nicely designed, but only has real personal meaning if your a fan of this Disney Sleeper Film. Collecting shouldn't be hype motivated. I think there will be plenty to go around for those who want one. This is my rational non-hype opinion. Good luck on July 2nd!

Oh yes, one more point. I noticed there aren't too many pre-sales of this vinyl listed on eBay, and the buy-it-nows haven't been selling all that quickly. I'm glad collectors are taking a wait and see attitude and are not being hyped into paying crazy ebay prices.

Of course, everything has to have some type value attached to it. Too bad Disney doesn't make them more widely available to start with. It really isn't fair to their collectors overall. I agree with you that having a connection to a vinyl is important, but I don't think it's Disney's responsibility to limit scalping. I think it's us, as a community, who should put a stop to it. I think the people who ask ten times the original selling price with a relatively large limited edition size should be laughed out of town, yet people obviously disagree with me and snap 'em up at those prices.

It's incredibly tempting to scalp, especially in this economy. My parents aren't always going to be willing to treat me to a vinyl here and there, and having some money put away would be nice.

yeah i definitely agree if i have a strong connection with a VM i will buy it. i don't have a strong connection to this particular set, but i do like the design so i want it lol. but like the upcoming dumbo poster design is a must for me since growing up my mom always told me that if i didnt ride dumbo id be really sad and sometimes cry so i always rode it.

:agree: about the connection between film/vinyl. I've seen this movie and I like it. I'm getting because like someone here has mentioned, I too am a huge Disney Villains fan, this is a must for me as a villain fan. Now, buying to solely for profit, that's the way "Collectable goes. LIke sports cards, comic books, etc., for serious collectors, they pay extra to get what they want when they can't get it when it comes out. What make "collectables" Collectable is the raised price at the very end. I'm sure there's a lot of collectors out there who would love to see their collectables make profit days, months, years down the road. Disney knows how much their "collectables" are worth on the aftermarket and Disney will continue doing it this way and lots of collectors will continue collecting them because Disney is really good at it.

It really is draining, don't people work on Fridays anymore geez! These special releases are starting to make me dislike collecting its no longer fun. It's down right annoying to think that while I'm being responsible and going to work others are snatching up these vinyls for profit, by the time I get to the park there all gone! I think they should definitely start doing first editions and then release later editions of the same vinyl so that everyone can get one.
