I was lucky enough to get an advance PDF of this week's Darkwing Duck #1, and I was really pleased with the result. Ian Brill has done a great job bringing back the Masked Mallard. The book hits stands this Wednesday, and I just wanted to assure the Darkwing fans out there that you won't be disappointed.

Ooh, perhaps I should design a 9" Darkwing to commemorate the new comic... :o

Is it going to look liek the cartoon did? Or an updated version?

The artwork is very on-model with the cartoon.

The book hits tomorrow with three different covers, one of which is a rare "incentive" cover -- which is a shame. It's going to be the hardest one to find, but it's also (IMO) the best one. But regardless, the story is very solid. Picks up about a year after an army of crimefighting robots has put all of the villains AND heroes of St. Canard out of business.

I read this last night and really enjoyed it! The artwork is spot on with the old cartoon and I felt that it's going to be true to the series. I like how although they're using this issue to re-introduce the characters and show where they are today, they still included some flash-backs of when DWD was in his prime so maybe people who are new to the series will get a sense of where this is going. It was so good I even considered buying this issue and all of the rest for myself, but then I remembered I have no money and a brother who I can always borrow the books from. :D

I read the first four issues and it's great! I need to catch back up with this series and start getting the Rescue Rangers comics also. :)
