Considering that the blog is now featuring Urban 3 instead of these, I have a feeling that our December release is going to be Urban 3 and the Cutesters will be pushed back further.

I bet we'll know soon, though...

I was actually thinking the exact same thing. The "Sneak" page also has Urban 3 listed before the Cutesters as well...

Either way, I hope they are released within the next couple weeks before my "Delux" pass is blacked out! :lol:

I would agree. I couldn't imagine them not using the "sneak peak" section to show the very next series that will be coming out.

I am hoping the "assumed" chaser we saw pics of a while back will still be released. I really love that figure and IMO, would be the best chaser released so far or at least on the same level of the Balloon chaser! :thumbsup:

For what it's worth, the Trading Night is on the 18th, so it is my assumption that they will try to have them available by then.

Remember when Urban 2 and Clear came out one right after the other without warning? I'm thinking they'll get them on the shelves just as soon as they possibly can, and not hold back for any particular date or event .... at this point they probably want to take advantage of the holiday selling season ....

Speaking of Holiday ... are they still in short supply? I noticed they are not being sold online any more:

I am so excited that these are coming out:happy::happy::happy: but I will be missing the release by a day, but I have accepted it and will some how get them:thumbsup: I am very curious to see what the cases look like! I know urban and parks are always black, the holiday one was also black but mickey was green instead of blue, and clears were yellowish. So Im thinking this case is going to be pink. I saw a picture at the very bottom of the cutester page of what the boxes will look like, Is this what the tray will look like too?? does anyone know

Open ended means there is no limit to the series. Pins that they want to produce for a long period of time until sales slow are usually open ended, and then retired once they decide they do not want to produce them anymore.

Limited edition means there is a set definite finite amount made. It can be quantified right from the start. An edition size of "x".

All the 3" have been made in a "limited release" format, meaning there is a finite amount, but the quantity made is to remain a secret. There will be enough to last for a few months, but will eventually sell out.

Hope this clarified things. :thumbsup:

These are going to be limited like all the other series aside from Clear. Meaning, they will have X-amount made. If they sell out in 2 months, they are gone for good. If they end up lasting 12 months, they are also gone for good. Just depends on how quickly they sell out.

The Clear Series was more of an open edition, mainly since there is no artwork to them. It was to get people interested in mix'n'matching the pieces and also would appeal to kids with the colors. There is supposed to be a 2nd series but hard to say with how this series did. As a group, they do look very nice together.

I am hearing alot of guys saying they are passing on these,now i will say i wont buy all of them but from a Disney collector side there are 3 or 4 in the series that are disney cool, like the minnie, or the one with the fairy god mothers, then there is one with the castle on the back.

Which one has the castle on the back? Is the castle as cheesy as it was on the 9inch? I really liked the 9in one, if it looked more like the pin it would have been really cool, my hubby collects a bunch of them and I thought I would start a collection when I saw that drawing (on the 9in pin) but then I saw the actual vinyl and the castle was tiny! So i passed. I am interested to see the one you say has a castle.

haha i think thats the chaser because if you look at the photos that have that empty space where you should add the chaser but there is one missing from the photo and that the Nested Doll

So .... I back-tracked and read earlier posts which speculate that the one with the castle on the back MIGHT be the chaser. And I think that is swell! It's fun to have some representation of an item that is uniquely Disney .... designs of cutesy things do not appeal to me .... but DISNEY does .... so, like the one with the 3 fairies from Sleeping Beauty, I would very much enjoy having those 2 from this series, and pass on all the rest. (Note: the Minnie Mouse one does not say "Minnie" to me -- sorry.)

We were wondering who would be the first to notice this. :thumbsup: Our guess was that this was old artwork and the actual box will have the Castle replaced by the Nested Doll. How funny would it be though if the Nested Doll ends up as the 1 in 24 "chaser" despite it being advertised on Disney's website?

(Note: the Minnie Mouse one does not say "Minnie" to me -- sorry.)

I know it is Minnie's dress pattern ... but I wanna see big eye lashes and beige face .... I wanna see a Minnie figure that is unmistakeably Minnie. After all the creative camouflaging of the "ears" done on all the figures (in all the series) ... not necessary to do that on Minnie since she is the only other Disney character with ears identical to Mickey's. (Just add bow!)

No need to tell me that this series is not intended to be "accurate and real" depiction of the characters .... I figured that out all by myself.

My guess is yes ... they should follow the same availability trends as all the others ... that plus mail order and other ways to purchase them new without having to physically go to a store that sells them.

On page 28 of this thread, you will see a discussion about it. The figure that looks like a Russian toy has taken its place in the released "sneak peak" on vinylmation.com, so there is speculation that this one with the castle might end up being the chaser.

Thanks, I just started to get worried because I saw they were all being done by one artist, and I was afraid that maybe it was going to be more limited than the other ones. I'm not sure how to tell which ones will be more available, and which ones won't, and this is a set I've been eyeing for a while :look: :)

There's no need to worry regarding how many artists are used in the creation of any series. That really doesn't impact the number they produce. Lisa Badeen just happened to create some really great designs that fit together for this series. Same in that Monty is the artist for the Muppet series.

When the figures are made as a 9", that is when they are more limited as they have a specific edition size. :thumbsup:

yea i dont see that on the box but when i made a purchase from the disney store it comes with a cutesters and urban slip and has that picture..weird

Wouldn't it be fun if they fool us all and the chaser is done by a different artist altogether? Lisa Badeen had the chaser for the last series released (Park 3). And that chaser's flowery design could have fit in with this Cutester series ... and the castle design now missing from this series could have fit in with a Park series, except that there is already a castle in P3.

While it is likely that Lisa did do the Cutesters chaser, it is fun to speculate that maybe another artist will get the honor .... after all, Lisa's chaser for P3 was the only design she had in that series.

It could be a possibility but everytime we have talked to Donald at the Artist Parties and Cutesters comes up, he is always talking about how great it is that the whole series is done by 1 Artist and how the designs came together by Lisa to make one great series. But you never know. :shrug: Would be random for like Randy to have 1 in that set. LOL.

Don't forget that Wall-E and EVE will be a 3" set with an edition size. :)

Also the 3" that are packed in as well have an edition size as well - Park 3 Castaway Cay set, Pooh & Piglet and Test Track Road Tests (WDW & DLR), Park 2 Incredibles Set, Park 1 Haunted Mansion Set and SHAG's 40th Anniversary Haunted Mansion sets. :idea:

No. They have still not been released. Once there is an official, in hand and on the shelves moment, everyone will know. They were to be in on the 17th but got delayed again with no ETA. :cry:

Actually they are saying something. Which is basically they don't really have a date yet. They are projecting an arrival date based on how the shipment is progressing (i.e. where the boat is) and then estimating port to Resorts delivery and processing. If they honestly knew they would have the date confirmed. :idea:

So I hope they've learned not to publish [on their website] a specific date that they can't control. None of this hype would have happened had they kept it worded, "coming soon."

After the candy corn thing [I went to the MNSSHP the first 2 Fridays only to be disappointed] .... I have begun to lose confidence in delivery promise dates.

Wonder if they are paying attention to our frustration on this [delivery date] issue? :shrug:

Bear in mind that this is the absolute busiest time of the year for boats to be arriving with merchandise from all over the world. I'm sure that Disney thought that the Cutesters and Urban 3 boats would arrive with plenty of time, only to find them get buried beneath the mass influx of Christmas product coming into the country. Even companies with the best of intentions often have product arrive weeks or even months late due to unforseen problems with the docks.

I'm sure that Disney is upset about the potential sales they've lost due to this delay and their disappointed fans, and will have these in our hands as quickly as they can! :thumbsup:

Has there been any discussion with people from Disney as to why the chaser was included in the early "previews" then replaced with the Russian nesting doll figure? Why not just make the nesting doll figure the chaser since the other one had already been shown?

My guess would be human error. :doh: I'd like to think that this was a one-time fluke that they'll be careful not to let happen in the future.

The difference is this:

And to answer the question that I know will be asked next, it is always the same design from case to case. The time frame from when they are released in the parks and then online varies. It's been roughly around 1 to 2 weeks, but they had so many issues getting these in the parks so it is really hard to say. There's been no mention on the vinylmation.com blog, but keep watch, I would think that soon after the holidays are over they should be appearing.

At the Magic Kingdom it is in the old location that use to be the Main Street Cinema. I'm not sure if they changed the name officially to Main Street Gallery or still call it the Main Street Cinema?? Either way it is right next to Uptown Jewelers and share the same Cast Members.

Yes, the Gallery (aka Cinema) and Uptown Jewelers are connected shops. I wouldn't be surprised if the operator still has it listed as Main Street Cinema for the phone listing though.

Makes sense. I would suspect that as well. It would make it easier to distinguish that Art of Disney shop from the others throughout the resort.

We're pretty new to Vinylmation and considering buying a tray of these (for one complete set, then trade away the extras). Does anyone know if buying a tray means you'll get at least one complete set, or are the trays randomly packed meaning there are no guarantees?

We're newbies and sorry if this was covered elsewhere...

Never mind, I found the answer elsewhere as a response to our thread. It sounds like the tray breakdown is two sets of 11, one chaser, and one extra.

That's right. The pallette is worth it if you really like a majority of the series cause you get the chaser also. The only thing I don't like about the set is that you know you're going to get all of them, so there's no suspense when opening them :)

Hmmm, maybe they used a different vendor or the vendor just forgot? The vinyls use to be like this with Park 1 and they changed it as people were able to shake the cards out of the box and see what ones were inside that way. Hopefully this is just an oversight in production.

I was at WDW yesterday and bought 10 cutesters! They are definitely all over the parks. I was at MK and HS (MGM to me) and noticed that they were selling quickly. The stores only had one case out on the shelves and there were only a few left in most of the cases. Going to be a popular series! They also still had urban #2's, lots of park#3's and TONS (and I mean TONS) of clear's. I was hoping they would have the same sale at the parks as Disneystore.com has, buy a vinyl get a clear 50% off, but nope. Unless they discount the series, I don't see them selling out anytime soon. BTW, for a limited few days, passholders still get 20% off purchases park wide. Great time to rack up some vinyls at a great price!!

I have the discount also and was told by a Cast Member that they've extended the discount to sometime in February. He didn't know when though. Random receipts at DL also have coupons for 20% off, even if you're not a passport holder.

D-Street is still having their, spend $50 get a clear free deal. I was there for the Noah Motor Mouse event and they were giving you a clear for every $50! They've since cut it to one for every purchase over $50 :(

I went to Disney yesterday and purchased a case of Cutesters. When I opened the case today I was surprised that the artist cards were just inside the box not incased in the foil like past boxes. The chaser is really cute,better then I expected. I asked the employee at several locations about when the Urban 3 will arive at disney world and they all said Jan, no certain date just JAN.

I definitely think they used a new vendor with Cutesters. That could explain why there was such a delay. I noticed right when i opened the case that instead of the whole inside of the case being covered (i.e. color on all surfaces, the top showed the actual cardboard). None of the previous series were like this at all. They lined the entire case with the smoother colored surface. And the piece of tissue paper on top has never been in them before either. It could explain why the cards were not packed in the foil.

I agree I didn't think I was going to like the castle chaser, it looks really understated online, but it is really well designed and I love it!

My first every Vinyl was the Owl from the Cutester series, so I am totally hooked on them. I bought one for my sister and am totally jealous that she got the Minnie's Dress Mickey. It's adorable. I cannot wait to own more of them!

If I were still a small child I would have DIED to have a room themed like the Cutesters (still would really, but you can't paint dorm rooms *sigh*). If you end up doing that, will you post pictures? I'd love to see!

So over the summer i went to Walt Disney World with my family, there were 5 of us, and we were there for 10 days. This was when i got completely addicted to vinylmations, so i would buy one from pretty much every store i went into. On this one occasion in particular i went into the stores and picked a cutesters because my mom had been looking for the minnie's dress one. We were at Epcot and it was pouring rain....so we would run from store to store....as we did that we bought one vinyl each....and i must have had really good luck because i picked 3 cutester chasers in a row that day. By the end of our trip we each had a cutesters chaser. It was awesome!

Then the next day a guy was trading away a Cupcake so as soon as he was done I went and traded for it. I was pretty happy.

What is the likability of this set? Is it officially retired? I just found 2 sealed trays at a Disney Outlet store. I purchased both. Now I'm wondering what to do with tray 2. Keep it for trade or sell it? If I sell it should I sell it sealed or open it & sell it broken up? I'd like to hear your thoughts/advice.
