Here's my new 3" figure. Now that it's done, I'm going to concentrate on finally finishing my 9" that I've been working on for months.

The highlights on the hat are an attempt to make the hat look a little more fabric-like (for lack of a better term). I tried to do the same with the tunic because Dopey's tunic is generally over-sized and droopy, but it just didn't look right, so I covered it up.

No, actually it's all brush and paint. I found an extremely tiny brush at Hobby Lobby and used it for all of the tiny detail. Fortunatley I have a somewhat steady hand to keep from going all over the place with the paint.
Thanks for the compliments, everybody!

Cool custom! I have a question though; Howdid you get you paint so smooth? It almost looks as smooth as the regular figures. Im wondering because my first custom didnt come out as smooth and you could see brush strokes. I used acrylic paint so maybe it was just drying up to quick maybe? Also what did you use for the fine line details? Was it a finepoint sharpie?

Well, I did multiple thin layers of the paint and had some really good brushes. Other than that I really didn't do anything to get it so smooth.
The 9" I'm working on isn't as smooth as my other 2 customs. (at least not all over). The paint was a little thicker and harder spread, which is weird because I'm using the exact same paint and brushes. I am sanding it down with steel wool though, so we'll see how it comes out.
The fine detail was done with a very tiny fine-point brush and somehow I was able to keep my hands steady. I scketch the details out with a fine-point led-pencil first, and then go over it with the brush and paint.

Thanks for the tips. Im getting ready to work on my first 9¨ figure. Compared to my first 3¨ custom it should be easier t work on considering the size difference.

Almost finished, actually. I've been pretty busy with work and theater, but I'll be working on it tonight and possibly Thursday and Friday (I'll be home from work, but it depends on how loopy I'm feeling after the little out-patient procedure I'm going for). :bonk:
If all goes well, I'll have it ready no later than Sunday. :cross:

It couldn't be any more loopy than you normally are, right?
