Trade day for all!

I know this is last minute.

On 3-14-10 Disneylover1955 and I will be trying to get members from the forum to have a monthy trade at the resort. This will be held 2 weeks prior to Disney Pin Trading night. The goal is to have a trade oppurtunity available to those who can't make it to an Official tade night. It will be from 12-6 at the Grand Californian Courtyard by sephora and Disney 365. Eventually it will move to the west esplinade picnic area. I hope we can get as many members from the board to join.

Also, if this is a great turnout, I would want to know what your thoughts would be for fun activities that we can do as a group. I was thinking that if we get at least 24 or enough people, to go in on a tray and open it amongst us and trade within the tray the tray. Perhaps hold a raffle. Like we all put in for a 9" or 3" and do a live raffle. Idk. I'm open to ideas and only you the members can make this happen. So put your thoughts in please.

Those are some great ideas! I too like the live raffle and/or tray opening Idea as a group. I also like the idea of being able to buy blind boxes there and if I get a double being able to trade it on the spot if someone needed/wanted it. If I didn't have other arrangements for today I'd try to be there (Though I currently still really don't have much to trade haha).

Yes. I want it to be consistent with Disney Pin Trading Night. So every 2 weeks we have an opportunity to trade from here on it. I know Disney is still in the works to try and lock it down, but Florida is going to get the CM trading stations first. Our D-Street is a flagship store with very little to no knowledge. All they are concerned about is their stock being stolen. Multiple D-Street CM's know nothing and most are only working for a check. When Disney gets the trading stations, this will still continue. Who knows, we can party at the trading stations.

It was good. Steph showed up before noon and I met her by California Grand Hotel. We talked for a while, and then VinylMickey and her daughter showed up, RedRocket showed up a little later and we all decided to move by D Street. Got a few trades in, and it was nice to meet other VN members.

For the non passholders I think it's good to trade at DTD since they can't get into the park. Hopefully some new series (like Muppets and Park 4) will be out soon, then we will have more to trade (speaking for myself).

It was definitely a blast and look forward to more events. The live auction sounds fun since we still get the excitement of blind boxing :)

I apologize for the late show up. I had some obstacles in my way. Traffic was horrible on the 10. I was stuck in a 2 lane freeway for an hour. My daughter was grumpy so I had to get her a drink. The parks were so terrible at the parking structure. I got to D-Street at 4. So, we should do this again. weekly or bi-weekly. I like that you guys want it in the parks but it's unfair to blocked AP holders and to those not wanting to pay to get in the park. So let's all vote on a spot. I am still waiting on an E-Mail from DLR to see if permits are needed and how much they cost to put up a table the same size as the street musicians. I would say a great spot would be the picnic areas at by World Of Disney. Perhaps the La Brea Bakery sitting tables as well. I was also wearing my vinylmation lanyard with no pins in hopes of attracting others. I also directed people to the site and made some trades with random people I met in the parks.

I haven't seen any 9 inch vinyls at WOD, I just know they have the 3 inch so I just go straight to D-Street! :)

i was at WoD on March 2nd and they had 1 tiki 9 inch and 1 Carnotoruus 9 inch. i was tempted to get the Carnotorous but i didnt have enough money on hand that day and i didnt want to charge it.

wished we could have made it over, Hubby and I had to go to a family birthday party before getting to the park around 4pm, when we had to go find our friend and little ones that had been sweltering away waiting for us in DCA, completely forgot to come over and see if anyone was still there.. hope that we can make it over to the next trade day though, sounds like it was a lot of fun!

It's not listed yet, but everytime they have a pin trading night/day DLR or WDW releases a pin for that month. Here's the link to last month's pin. They are really cool.

DUDE!!! Not only Pin Traders but vinyl traders that are not members! I felt like I worked for the vinyl team!!! This guy almost got a D23 for a steampunk!!! This lady asked if it was a good trade and I said no, only if she feels as if it's worth it.

yeah pretty much, but people mainly bring just their dupes and then trade with other people. but if you bring rare vinyls it will make the trading events that much more interesting.
