Urban 3 Monsters 9/3 - Disappointment

Ok so yea I didnt want to wait for them to come to Orlando, have to rush to try and get one..So I asked a member. Not one bit mad at the person. They charged me only Sticker/tax/shipping. So I was happy.

I am not happy with disney. Either they are RUSHING them or not spending time on them to get them out faster. I mean come on Disney only 450 pieces at 75.00 you could spend some time on them.. So here we go.

All in all this will more than likely turn me away from the 9in ones. They went from being stunning, and great to just crap.

I would be disappointed also. So far all of mine seem to be okay. And I take all of mine out of the box. I do not have this set, but hopefully someone with the set can compare theirs to yours and see if they are all the same quality.

Jeeze. Now I feel like crap for buying these guys. I like it. I inspected a ton myself and got one that is perfect to the box. All the urban look like crap when it comes to the paint job. Caveman was off, birds too, overalls was blah, and the only near perfect one was bubbles. Idk. I wonder if the manufacturer had something to do with the paint job.

I haven't even opened mine yet! I guess I should open them and check them even though I have never had a problem with the 9 inch vinyls! :shrug:

I noticed this as well. In my many trips to DL since the release, I have been surprised to see how many of the Urban 9's are still on the shelfs. I also noticed the bad paint jobs on the 9/3" Monster and all the ones that I compared at DL are the same. I think its safe to say that these will remain on the shelfs for quite some time.

Some other members had made comments on how they felt these were rushed.
They may still be on the shelf because 1 they are not as popular as the Park series and
2 they also stopped taking phone orders for these. I wonder if they will end up
on the disneystore.com site :shrug:

Maybe, if they put them online I guess some VN members will be able to get them! :shrug:

Wow. Looks like the quality has gone down quite a bit. I want tho get the two bears and the birds one. Hopefully I can find some good looking ones. The Monsters one is not my favorite, so I won't be getting that.

Once the 9" start sitting on shelves at the park maybe they will re-think they idea
of not selling them via mail order :cross:

Definitely a problem with the manufacturer here. That could even be the reason for the delay. I really hope Disney was as unimpressed as we are with the quality and attempted to have it corrected. These pictures look like someone made a terrible knock off. I guess I'll pass on these.

I have actually typed up a email to submit to disney and to see if I can find a email on the vm site. Because I am not happy. And I am really hoping the park 4 9"'s arnt as bad. Let's hope they fix their manufacture quick. I could have turned the 79 I spent on this crap and got the mindstyle stitch.

Sorry some like to have things nice that we pay for...but I didnt inspect it that hard,to notice the brush lines and screw ups.

in my opinion this whole 9" series was a let down, and to see the phoned in workmanship on these is very sad

For what it's worth, I decided to get one of these after close examination through the box, but when I got home and took it out I had some of the same problems. With the head being a bit smaller in Urban #3 than all the others, this had to of been a new manufacturer. Hopefully they don't use them again.

I went to DLR the first day of release specifically for this figure. Remember, they only had a few available that day and I was so upset I could not get one. Went to the park last night and saw many in different stores at the park. I was astonished and quickly grabbed one, on close inspection I too noticed the poor craftsmanship and ultimately passed on the figure. Go figure.

I really liked the series 2, but once I saw the previews, I knew I wasn't going to be collecting this set. I wasn't in favor of some of the designs I saw.

what do you suggest that Disney do for the people that bought one :shrug:, and does this also include people who bought one on ebay or just bought it at the park and online. :shrug: Also if a customer who bought one and did not like the vinyl they could just return it and get there money back since you can return the 9" vinyls

They recall the product because of poor quality, offer new items, a small credit, anything would be nice considering they are a giant multi billion dollar corp., this would have to be for ppl who have the reciept for the item whether they bough it at the park or not, i bought mine off another member who was nice enough to grab me one and when i looked at it was disapointed but kinda stuck cuz i didnt go and look before i bought, but i guess its the game we are in

i wasn't all that interested in this figure to begin with, but i still wouldn't want disney to mess up on the figures for other people.

I got my overall in yesterday and I don't see anything wrong with him. I have not really looked at the others in the park since I don't plan on getting any of those, but now that you said something, I will have to look on Thursday when I go.
