Cool video. I kind of wish they'd had a better view on Mickey at the end though.

Wow, Steve Cotroneo is a sculpting God!!

Even though the ride will be the same it'll be a much better experience knowing that Mickey is on top of it now

I wonder if they'll keep the ride open during WoC. I personally would want to feel the experience of swinging over the pier/bay while riding the ride or even watching the WoC show while riding...

I think they are watching all the rides close to the water to see how the mist, lights, etc effects the ride! I know that when Luminaria was there all the rides on Paradise Bay were pretty much closed, (except the maliboomer..) I think so far they think that California Screamin and Silly Symphony Swings will be closed during the show due to the mist/fire, and for general guest safety! But who knows!

i hope the ride stays open during the shows. if the close a lot of the rides the walk ways would be crowded.

Okay, so I had to look up what Orange stinger was and read this on wikipedia

Initially an orange scent effect was sprayed into the attraction making the ride smell like some kind of 'real' orange, but was later removed because it attracted real bees.

I'm sorry but  that is hilarious.

i never went when they had that smell on the orange stinger but seeing kids and adult swinging around with bees everywhere sounds hilarious

I always found it funny that they had bees as decor around the inside. Almost seems like an easy cost-saving measure to cut those from the design since the thing got infested with real bees instead!

The swings used to be shaped like bees but they took too much of a beating from daily use that they just made them regular seats!

haha that attraction really does come close to equatiating to the "EPIC FAIL" of the theme park biz. If it wasn't for the fact that Golden Zepher right next to it couldn't operate for pretty much years because of the breeze caused by people blinking their eyes on the midway, Orange Stinger could be a shoe-in!

I liked the Orange Stinger! Yes, it was just a chair swing ride like at any other park but at least it had some kind of theme when it opened! And when Silly Symphony Swings opens it will be the same to me as Orange Stinger just themed differently! I am just glad they didn't take it out completely because California Adventures needs as many ride/attractions as it can fit into its small sized theme park! :)

No argument there! I can't wait for Carsland! I think the only thing out of that land I can't wait any longer for is what I call the West Coast version of test track---> Radiator Springs Racers!:happy::happy:

i cant wait for radiator springs racers. i bet the line will be 3 hours+. i think im going to wait to ride it. i loved test track in florida and i know this ride out here will be even better. the themeing alone is amazing.

I know, maybe they will offer fastpass and single rider like test track? It would be even better if they had AP previews! :)

i love single rider lines my wife would rather shop all day so i usually get on every ride i want becasue i get a fastpass or single rider line. last time i went to DL i went on 25 attractions in one day, and two table service meals.

Thats awesome! I am never usually there long enough to do that many rides in one day but if I spend a full day I definitely do the single rider and fastpass line! :)

Looks interesting, but probably too intense for me. I thought I was gonna die on Mickey's Death Wheel which is right behind it, so I don't know if I could cope...

I love Mickey's Fun Wheel! It took me a while to build up the courage to go on the swinging ones but those are really fun! I really like going on the non-swinging ones to see all the construction going on at California Adventures! :)

disneylover1955 the hidden mickey is on the matterhorn there are there holes in the mountain that form a hidden mickey. the best spot to see it is from the que line to space mountain, but you can make it out from your picture. just look towards the center of the mountain.

You might not. The Swings won't need a whole lot of testing before they can open since it's a fairly simplistic ride system. If it's not opening until sometime in May, it's entirely possible that testing wouldn't start until the end of April.

They were doing testing when they put Mickey ontop! It was very cool to finally see what I saw in the promotional video a while back finally run in real life! Can't wait to ride it!

I think the ride is really cool but I'm kind of annoyed with how Disney thinks they have to add characters to everything. Like the Sun Wheel was better themed to fit a board walk/pier and was the same ride and Mickey's Fun Wheel, all they needed to do was spruce it up, not throw characters all over it. It's the same with the games of the board walk. I think the concept of the tornado for the swings is cool but again, why couldn't they just theme a really intricate and beautiful swing attraction like you would see on a board walk or pier? Disney seems to forget that the best, most classic attractions don't involve characters at all (HM, POTC, SM, IASW, to name few).

i think the reasoning behind adding characters to ride, is that the imagineers want to connect DCA with walts vision of when he first came out to hollywood and also incorperate his ideas and first works into the park itself. i say its better than having the park over taken by Pixar characters.

Mullholland Madness is going to be themed to Goofy's Flying School! I don't remember when they were going to start it but I think the Blue Sky Cellar has all info about it! I also follow Miceage's Project Tracker, here is the link! It might need some updating but its pretty on track with the renovation!

Yeah, it also does not have a high hourly capacity like say California Screamin or Big Thunder, add to that a fastpass and that line will always be busy during the summer! Hopefully when they remodel it the wait will be justified with a more entertaining version! :)

I couldn't agree more with that. It is cool that we're seeing classic characters being used in the parks and the ideas behind the rethemes are really very clever, it just seems the parks hardly ever create original experiences anymore.
