I think Hatbox Ghost and the Caretaker have to be in there (opinion only and haven't heard either way). I would like to see Master Gracey, tightrope/umbrella portrait girl and the man on the dynamite portrait would also be awesome to see.

Ok, I am going to add Little Leota (mini one at the end telling you to come back with your death certificate), a singing bust, suit of armor, a dueler, and one of the dancers. Maybe some of the ghosts from the cemetery - mummy, opera singer. Oh, and Master Gracey as well!!

And I don't know the name of the ghost, but the one that hangs himself in the stretching room, there is a picture of him in the hallway just past the the ghost who is trying to get out of the coffin. His story is after the lights go out in the stretching room, he cuts himself down and escapes (which is the crashing noise). They made a portrait of him. He is just before the turn into Madame Leota's room on the right of the buggy, he has an ax in his hand and a noose around his neck.

That would be a great figure. The picture of him in the hallway (never realized that was him) is super creepy. His shadow in the picture looks as if he has an axe raised above his head. I thought I had a picture of him, but I wasn't able to find it.

Well, I don't know about Master Gracey's, but the Bride that lives in the attic is a done deal. Her concept art has been shown and is on the little notebooks that are coming out and on the banners at D Street.

This was my favorite attraction at Magic Kingdom when I was a kid, and after this weekend, I think it still is! Can't wait for this series!

The caretaker and his dog would make a nice 9/3 set, although the dog isn't that much smaller than him.

Some ideas I haven't seen yet are that the Duelers would be great, one of each, or as a box set a la Wall-e (but with a higher edition size, please). A raven would be a good fit, too, and also a chaser candidate. A new tombstone with a witty poem in each series would be cool, like the monorails in the park series. Also, a doombuggy would be good, and possibly a chaser.

A 9/3 of the stretching portraits would be interesting, make the 9" the full portraits and the 3" the short portraits. I also really like the library scene, so a 9" of that would be great, or just one bust on a 3" figure. Lastly, this goes against my no accessories preference, but a bat, like the queue chain holders, with accessory wings would be really cool--probably would have to be a 9" or special edition/tin (a HM tin would be really cool, too). This one may be worth exploring as a custom, if only I had some artistic skills. There are so many good things that can be done with the HM, I hope there are multiple series, maybe one a year, for a few years.

My favorite ride at Disney CA, and love the way they change up the mansion for Halloween and XMAS, so this is a must have collection. Luckily it will be a bit away from the release of the Star Wars series, so it gives me time to save up. lol

The dueling ghosts as a set is a very cool idea. The dancing ghosts have to be represented some way. I don't know if you could depict that on a 3'', it might have to be on a 9'' or as part of a combo set.

I'm not really about collecting whole sets, but this one will definitely have to be a complete set at our house. My husband thinks I'm looney for collecting these, but I'm sure he'll support me on this series. What about the harness for the horseless carriage as a chaser? Love the idea of the busts on a figure too!

In thinking about 12 different designs, so far I can picture Madame Leota, Little Leota, Gus, Phineas, Ezra, the Bride, the Dueling Ghosts, the Organ player, one of the singing busts, maybe some of the ghosts from either the ballroom or the cemetery. But the clock really would be a great one in the series versus the park set.

I don't think that they will scrap the haunted mansion series. I just think that he is being vague so as to not give anything away. Plus, he was clearly hinting at Madame Leota, who we have already seen artwork for.

He was vague because that's what he does. HM is one of the most popular attractions, especially when it comes to it's merchandise, so I dont think there is any fear of it being scraped.

Yes. We were told initially that the Haunted Mansion vinyls were to be like a set of 6. Similiar to the idea of the Condiment set. Where it would be all of them together in special packaging and limited edition. Upon further discussion and observation, the Vinylmation team decided that the Haunted Mansion was derserving of a full set of 12, not just 6. So, in terms of production and developing the artwork for the additional 6, they got pushed from this year to Fall 2011. Fall 2011 was chosen for the fact that they tie in with Halloween and that this year the Nightmare Before Christmas set is due out then, and so they felt that waiting till next Fall would be better and space out the special sets. Yes, we have seen some of the artwork, but not all of it to know what all 12 designs will be.

I was also very excited about the series of "UP" figures that were previewed elsewhere on the web right before the movie's release (with production model prototypes already made up and everything), but somehow they never made it to the stores. :shrug:
I guess a little optimism never hurt anybody.:lol: Honestly, I can't wait for the HM series to come out, I will surely be one of the first in line.

You may want to check around as Cosbaby did a Karl and Russell vinyl set and they are really cool. I'm not sure what site might still have them, but I have seen them on ebay for sure.

I can't help but wonder, and I know it's too early considering they haven't begun filming, that the reason this set is "Fall 2011" is because of the announcement out of Comic Con about Guillermo Del Toro making the Haunted Mansion movie. The times don't match up at all, but, at the same time...

If the script is finalized and the actor's schedules are lined up, they can probably meet this timeframe as there will probably be a lot of CGI vs. special effects. That's a lot of ifs. That said, the October 2011 time for HM is believed to be because they want a Halloween themed release for the fall season. This year it is NBC and next year it is HM.

As of now it is tentatively slated for Fall 2011, way to early to have any dates. Now, a year from now we hopefully will start to see previews!!

I think the seasons go like this (even though I live in So Cal and we really don't have seasons either :lol:):

March, April & May - Spring
June, July & Aug - Summer
Sept, Oct & Nov - Fall

I think the coldest it gets in Southern California is like 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 Celsius) and that's during the night time long after the sun sets. We complain that it's cold if the temperature dips below 65 :lol: I can't imagine living in a place where it might actually snow!

Considering that the HM set is over a year from coming out, there's no way we're going to hear about a price this far out. So anything you hear at this point is just that, a rumor.

We don't know yet what many of the designs are let alone what the chaser might be. We probably won't have more details until well into next year as this set isn't due until Fall 2011.

The past 2 times I've been to WDW, I didn't even get to ride Haunted Mansion...the line was ridiculous! I think the wait time was 180 and 210...didn't even realize the wait times could be that high! That's a crazy wait time. I love HM but that an insane amount of time to wait, especially with the ability to Fastpass.

One other thought I had was the crazy staircase room in WDW would be a figure that had glow-in-the-dark footprints. Maybe the chaser or 9"?

I think the amount of characters they could do for this is endless. The suit of armour by the endless hallway would be a great vinyl although I still think the Hat Box Ghost would be the best most obscure ghost to do.

I will have to do that. That would have been way before my time if he was only in there when the attraction first opened. And I could definitely see him as the chaser at that point.

It was the 2nd week of JUNE! I went during Easter break before & it was actually MORE crowded in June! Crazy! lol Yes, gotta LOVE Fastpass!!! Its weird to go to other parks & not have it...LOL

I can't wait for this series! With all the great ideas everyone is coming up with, maybe they can make a HM #2 series as well! :-)

That would be cool. In my opinion I dont think there is a store, besides the the pin store in New Orleans Square, that has enough space. Maybe a VM kiosk out in front of the mansion?

The Tokyo version props were intended for Walt Disney World, but when the park abandoned plans to install the attraction, Tokyo (which features a carbon copy of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion) received all the props.

Humm interesting I am going to have to talk to my inside source cast member who gave the info that all HM's got the nightmare before Christmas makeover. I think DLP gets the makeover also, or at least they did from 2002-2005 , when I lived in Paris. I was lucky enough to be on a trip out to LA last Halloween and got to see it at Disneyland. I think these are likely to be new mold. We have only seen sketches of these - and only 4 at that - so assume it won't be the old mold - shame!

The series was talked about being blind box, but again hard to tell since we have only seen 4!

I'm guessing old mold, since some of the figures appear to have been designed for that mold...although I could see them updating the designs since there will be a number of "human" designs. I think Hatbox Ghost and the Caretaker have to be in there (opinion only and haven't heard either way). I would like to see Master Gracey, tightrope/umbrella portrait girl and the man on the dynamite portrait would also be awesome to see.

I think Umbrella Potrait Girl would be amazing. That is one of my favorite all time pieces from Disney. I'd buy like 8 of them, and carry one with me at all times!

I certainly prefer the concept art to the pins but I still like all the designs and want to get some - they appeal to me more than POTC for some reason - will be good to get some idea of the final look of these and the release date at some point!

the art from the concept to the pins looks to have changed drastically in terms of the mood and spirit of the figures. the art in the concept looks much more funny/cartoonish while the art on the pins does not retain that same look. the facial expressions don't seem to read as well, at least for me.

this is based on guesses but both the pins and concept art have a distinct version of the bride (and the original is much much much nicer IMO), and i don't think that they would have two brides in the set, so i think that at some point the art/artist have changed significantly

Oh I hope they don't stray too far from the concept art. The pins weren't that appealing to me. And now I'm thinking the VMs will be just as disappointing. I'm still hoping that the ghosts in this series will be similar to how the Obi Wan ghost was produced.

There will never be a set that I'm this excited for (save for a retro Epcot series) again; Haunted Mansion is my all time favorite attraction anywhere. That being said; I really think that the original art we saw is far superior to what's seen here. I mean, they still look great, I just like the stylization on the originals better. We shall see though - if they're anywhere near as great as Pirates, I'll be thrilled.

I think that these will look Great once we see them on the actual Vinyls. Casey always does a great Job. I just hope the Hat Box Ghost looks just the way it does on the sketch. That is one of the Coolest designs I've seen

My guess would be mid October when people are feeling the Halloween spirit. I hope they have some great designs. HM seems to be easy to turn and sell for those hard to get ones.

It should be coming soon unless they are having some sort of problem. Spooky and 3" Halloween already came out so they are beginning to release halloween related vinyls. Hopefully a release date or a price comes out at the Florida Project.

The only one that I don't think will be Clear is Master Gracey since we don't get to see him in Ghost Form. I do however think they should do a Skeleton Variant of him.

I like having park exclusive and Disney Store exclusive vinyls. It makes trading more fun when it is easier for some people to get things than others.
