Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

My husband and I went to see this movie yesterday. I was really surprised at how full the theater was considering it was a Sunday night, Valentine's Day and the last weekend before Mardi Gras (there were a lot of parades last night).

Anyhoo, I really enjoyed it. It was very different from the books (which I love) and I'm kind of curious as to how they're going to explain some things later on if they get the green light for the next four films. But I guess if HP and Twilight can leave a bunch of important stuff out, so can PJ. MY husband enjoyed it as well, although he did say it was a little too predictable. I blame that on the screen-play because they book wasn't nearly as predictable.

It's not one I'd go to see twice in the theaters, but I'll more-than-likely buy it once it's out on Blu Ray.

Anybody else see this yet? Thoughts?

so ? did you like the books or the movie better? I have read all the books and sometimes seeing it as a movie ruins it for me because they like you said leave things out or even change things that didn't even take place in the book to begin with. I am waiting to see the movie till it comes out on DVD only because Matt wants to see this so bad and doesn't want me seeing all the movies with out him lol

I like the books better, but honestly I don't know of any book series that isn't better than the movie. I think they simplified a lot of the plot probably for those who haven't read it.
