Well, Here it is hot out of my home factory. Maleficent 9" and Diablo 3" custom figures. I had a lot of fun researching and creating these I hope you enjoy them too. The set is currently up for auction on ebay. I'm working on more sets. Watch for them throughout 2010. Jason, Thanks for all your help!

Love the way Mickey's nose has become Maleficent's chin! Too cool! Can we see photos of the backs? Well done, dude!
01-25-2010, 04:56 PM
Thanks for the nice compliments! It took alot of plotting and planning to adapt the Mickey shape to Maleficent. He's short and round and she is tall and thin. Was I crazy or what?
01-25-2010, 05:11 PM
Amazing... I am so jealous!
Love it! Huge Maleficent fan here... did I say I was jealous!
01-25-2010, 05:13 PM
That's the best looking non-real Vinyl I've seen yet.
What paint did you use, if you don't mind sharing your secrets!
01-25-2010, 05:29 PM

LOVE these! You have a great style :)

There's no secret about the paints its more like alot of experimenting. All the paints I use are acrylics. Some brands go on smoother and cover better, others are too thin and just don't cover well at all. I stay away from these, you learn! When hand painting several coats are always need on every single color. It takes tme. Brushes are also very important a wide variety and better quality helps. I do add something to my paints, but I'm keeping that a secret. You just have to play with its sort of like being an inventor.

I love your style, the way you were able to translate her face onto the VM shape was just perfect! The detail on Diablo is great as well!
I actually saw this on Ebay earlier today and thought it was an official Disney VM. I was scratching my head thinking I must not have see all the pictures of the old 9". Can't wait to see more!
01-26-2010, 08:30 AM
These are both amazing! I can't believe how well done they are! I can't wait to see more of your work. Do you have ideas for future sets? I love the idea of people creating 9"/3" sets....the creative people anyway. I wish I could do some that would turn out this great! Haha
01-26-2010, 08:56 AM

whats going to be your next combo set?
01-26-2010, 10:18 AM
I have several ideas spinning around in my head for the next set. Most likely something from one of the Disney Features of the 70's. I like that period. Will post as soon as I make up my mind. Sometime in the next week. Check back. Again, thanks for your encouragement!

01-31-2010, 07:33 PM
Disney should get in touch with you, you have a great sense of placement and form of the canvas. The paint work is spectacular, it does in fact look like an officially manufactured figure. Awesome work, keep it up!!
01-31-2010, 08:24 PM
Hi everyone! Thanks again for all the nice comments and words of encouragement. It motivates me to produce my best designs for you all to enjoy on the Vinylnation site. Remember, all my creations will be up for sale on eBay when completed. I have decided on my next 9" & 3" set but I think I will wait and surprise you all when I post the new thread. Its more fun that way! My target date is March 1, 2010 to unvail the next set. Your all really great! Mr. Medusa

So if this doesn't sell you'll be donating it to VN in exchange for free advertising, correct? *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*
 Hey, I can dream, can't I?
Can't wait to see what you have coming up for March. I was so impressed with this figure I showed it to some of the Vinylmation artists and they were equally as impressed. Great job, again!

As for donating it to VM what did you have in mind? Thanks for showing my work to the Vinylmation Artists. It was kind of you to do so and I appreciate it. Forever bonded in vinyl! Mr. Medusa

How did I never comment on this one  Another excellent 9/3 inch combo! I love them both, but I seem to always be drawn most to the 3 inch (it's usually the same with the ones disney releases too as I have more of an eye to add 3 inches to my collection ) I just love the way you did diablo! :D
