Ok, so last night we finally booked out trip to WDW. We'll be there February 5th through the 12th. We're hoping to be at the ESPN Club for the Superbowl, but noticed that you can't make reservations there....at least not online. Does anybody have an idea how crowded it might be and also, what time do you think we should get there?
We'll be at NASA to watch the launch that's scheduled to take place at 4:45 that morning (assuming it doesn't get pushed back for a fourth time) and were hoping to be able to sleep a little before heading over. We've pretty much accepted the fact that we're not going to be able to get to a park and see the game, so we're sacrificing the park.
If we can't get into ESPN, are there any other places on property or nearby that we could catch the game? We'd rather not watch it from our room.
Thanks in advance for your responses!

They don't take reservations unfortunately, so your only option here is to get there SUPER early (forgive the pun) since every sports fan on property will have the same idea. The restaurant is decent sized but not nearly big enough to accommodate all that will want to be there.
However, don't worry about catching the big game. The Saints won't be in it anyway.

 We shall see!
 Either way we'd like to see it. In our family, we make it a big event. We always have a big party and my dad makes these awesome Jambalaya Po-Boys! :yum: I was kind of sad that we were going to miss it this year, but being in WDW kind of makes up for it. Plus I like watching the commercials. Being in the advertising industry, it's something I kind of like to get ideas for future spots.

FYI then. It is not uncommon for the restaurant to cut out commercials and instead show in house advertisements for different food and merchandise. I wonder if they would do it during the Super Bowl when people actually WANT to see advertisements, but every time I'm in there they cut to their own advertisements when the games go to commercials. Hmm...

I can't even think of any other sports-friendly restaurants on WDW property... you can always go off property to an Applebee's or Chillis'.

Hmmmmm.....we may have to do that. I think I'd rather watch it at Applebee's or Chilis' then alone in our room. We've decided to drive anyway because it'll be cheaper than flying, so we will have my car.

Or even try Miller's Ale House, rather than a Chilis or something that you can find back home. They are pretty awesome restaurants with cheap beer ($5 pitchers). There is a restaurant about two minutes away, just outside the DTD entrance.
Everywhere is going to be crowded for Super Bowl, but not quite like ESPN will be.

If you're doing Ale House, I wouldn't go to the one he's talking about. Its kind of small. If you hop on the 417 and get off in Hunters Creek there's a much bigger one. Its on John Young Parkway. Its only about 10 minutes from the main entrance to WDW. In our neighborhood actually. :)
But where he's talking about is like "tourist alley" so its going to be jam packed.

You won't have a problem finding it. Its right off the highway.
Looked up the addy for ya:
13536 South John Young Parkeway
Orlando, FL 32837
(Copy/Pasted that... they totally spelled parkway wrong.)

Before you thank me, I was rooting for the Vikings tonight.
Let me explain...
Eric Northman was a Viking.
That's it.
That's the only reason I was rooting for them. I actually don't have a problem with the Saints or the Vikings though so it really didn't matter to me who won. The teams I just flat out don't like for whatever reason are the Jets, Bills, Steelers, Patriots, Giants, and Colts.

I understand. But as long as you're rooting for us in two weeks, that's what matters!

Well, if any of you are in the parks between the 5th and the 12th, look for me. I think my entire Saint's wardrobe is coming with me and I'll be wearing it the whole time. :)

So, I found a place to watch "The Game" .....in Miami. My husband bought the tickets right after the NFC Chamionship game, and since we figured we wouldn't be in the park that day anyway, we might as well drive the four-ish hours to go see it in person! YAY!!!!!! We really can't afford it, but we're thinking this is probably a once-in-a-lifetime situation.....at least for us.
