Sledge, on your custom monorail figures, how did you create them? Did you paint white over the color prior to making them pink and purple? Did you somehow remove the paint that was already on there prior to the new paint?

I want to get 2 Monorail Blue figures and turn them into Monorail Pink and Monorail Purple for my Monorail "set" I plan on having.

I just painted over the blue areas of Monorail Blue without any sort of white base coat. It took two coats of pink and purple to get it to where you could no longer see any blue, but I figured two coats would be much easier than trying to dull the blue before painting it. And remember, there are two shades of Pink/Purple on the figures. Using tape may also help you with getting straight lines.

Good to know. I definitely remember that they have 2 shades of each color on each figure. What brand of paint did you use? Any idea as to the specific names of the 4 colors that you used. Or did you use 2 colors and just add tint to them?

I used Apple Barrel paint. I used Bright Magenta #20591 for Monorail Pink. I think I ended up having to darken it up a little bit to get the head color perfect. Then I took that new color and darkened it up even more for the body. For Monorail Purple it was my own mixture of blue, red and black paints.

Now you got me curious as to what your custom monorails look like... :) are their pics still on the site?
