It's great! I bought a case of Park 2's and was able to get 4 clears! From what I understand they wised up and are now only giving 1 free for every transaction over $50, as opposed to 1 for every $50. We'll just have to start paying in separate transactions ;)

That is correct, at D-Street they only had 48 sets, so all this talk of 144 is not true, I was there and I was the 30th in line so I was out of luck and didnt get a set. now i either have to have a shag to trade for one or a 100$

I asked a CM about it and she said that yeah they put them out as a teaser and they might have more they just dont know what they will be getting and to call and see. Im so mad that i didnt pick it up when i saw it.

Doesn't mean that park 4 will be out in 8 days since we know they will be released in April! They might have put them out in anticipation of a March release but then found out that the Vinylmaiton team pushed the release to April! :lol:

Just a quick vinyl update! D-Street had Park 3, Urban 2 and 3 and Holiday as well as plenty of all the Urban 3 9 inch! They also had all the colored blank vinyls in both sizes except white! There is also a Cutester set displayed again so they are on there way back into Disneyland Resort stores soon! :happy: :happy:

but urban 3 was know to be released soon, park 4 doenst even have a date and these teaser that were said to be out were out 2 weeks ago, assuming park 4 comes out mid april that means that would be a month early with no scgeduled true release date in sight. as for your frontierland selling vinyls i think its because here at DL we have had vinyls do very well in that shop since day one next to the pins so they must have mirrored DL success.

Assuming we can come up with the money by thursday night, got few other expenses to take care of. If so, We'll be there friday morning D-Street DLR trying to get one... (Along with the good ol' VN community getting their own and trying to help other members out. You guys are great!) Only shot for us would be D-street though cause we don't have annual passes to even attempt getting one from in the parks. If we come up with the $ we'd either walk away with a Sully/Boo or a couple of Blind boxed Park 4/Muppets if they're sold out of Sully/Boo by the time we get in the store from what I assume will be a line.

yeah the clear series is not a very popular figure, and people have harder time trying to trade them compared to VM designed by artists.

That's good to hear. I mean, I haven't been to Dstreet yet at all (seems like it's been out for so long, and I haven't even been there once :eek:) But it's nice to know their making sure it's in tip top shape for my visit early next year ;-) :lol:

We kind of do but its ontop of the shelves! Honestly I think they are about the same size! Truthfully I wasn't very wowed by WDW's when I was there! Yeah its nice they have a place to color pictures or a VM table, but nothing for me to be like oh wow its amazing! :rofl:

Not gonna lie, I was sooooo depressed when I walked into the WDW one in August. I was so pumped to go there and pleaded with my parents enough to go there the first night we arrived (since we were staying at Universal for a few days, I had no access besides our rental car otherwise I could have gone myself). I have been to D-street every weekend for the past 2 months and it did seem to me that they weren't trading as much as they used to, especially at night. I'm wondering if its just due to the holiday traffic because the store does seem to be a heck of a lot more crowded these days.

I do love the CMs there though. I think for the most part they are friendly (especially Elaine!). There is also a guy named Mace at the store next to Space Mountain/Star Tours who is super friendly when trading!

You know what's janky? Last year around christmas time I purchased $675 worth of vinyls in one transaction (all for family), and they gave me ONE reusable bag. I had to ask for another, and the CM had to ask her manager if I could have one...I'd assume it was a no brainer.

Perhaps I should have done separate transactions to maximize however many bags i deserved!

Anyway, I didn't see that sign for the bag promotion at the registers this past weekend, so perhaps they're not doing it anymore?

Warning to all Vinylmation Collectors Here in So-Cal:

i was at DLR yesturday and saw a team of three guys that go into each store looking for only chasers. these guys to have a method to find only chasers( i will not say it here since it got my last post deleted). just make sure your blind-boxes that you buy are untampered with and are not messed with.

the guys that i saw doing this yesturday 2-3-2011 come by multiple times each week to rumage and pilfer through the blindboes so they can just buy chasers. i mainly saw them looking at animation and star wars series blind-boxes.

please again this is a warning to all collectors be careful. i would hope we all have the same chances to get a chaser but these guys are getting the upper hand on all of us by cheating.

actually the cast member that was near these vinyls was talking to the guys when they were using thier method. she seems to not care at all. its a shame to see the cast members will let almost anything happen. im talking about every cast member there, some are great, but some just want their paycheck.

i just talked to Steven Miller from WDW and Head of Merchandising and here let me know that he will bring up this issue to the Vinylmation team to maybe come up with a solution to the cheating of finding chasers.

If this was at D-street, then I know that it's at the manager's discretion as to when they trade (sometimes its really busy, and they're low on staff, this is what happened at the SW release).
If this was at World of Disney, they trade only at certain times, rumored to be at 12, 3, 6, 9PM. But that's also at the CM's discretion. The box at the DLR World of Disney is at the Jewelry section, and it gets busy around there (ppl wanting to look at certain items and what not) so they might not be trading at various times. But one time I went there and just asked the CM if they were trading, and he paused and said, "sure, yeah we're trading" and took the box out for me. Depends, i guess

the trading at D-street usually starts around noon, once they get enough cast members in so that they can have someone on the floor, and someone working the box. when it starts getting really busy, they sometimes put the box away because people will start grabbing, and vinyls disappear. also, around 9, they put the box away and just start closing shop. but like someone else said, its their own discretion, and the world of disney does the same thing slightly, randomly taking out there trade box.

Thanks for answers guys! I also had no idea World of Disney did trading, too! It was pretty busy at the time when I was at D-Street, so that makes sense. I'll be going back again this friday to try and complete my Star Wars set and maybe get the animation combo pack, so hopefully they don't take the box away when I (inevitably) get doubles.

My sister is going to D Street this weekend and I want her to get me a tray of the Star Wars. I have a gift card from the Park. Will they take it in D Street or should I go to the ATM and take out...gulp money?

Yeah they accept gift cards. The disney gift cards I use aren't bought inside of the park, they're the ones they sell at supermarkets and pharmacys. So if those work at d-street then I'm pretty sure the ones purchased inside the park will work just as well.

It's always a hit and miss, but mostly on weekend afternoons are when people are there trading. More specifically the bench outside D-street. People are known to just line their figures on the bench and people will come up and talk and hang out and trade!

Hey vmkrazy,

We've been trying to get regular trade get togethers going at least once a month. Two of the last gatherings have been in front of D Street. Last one was at the Grand Californian due to weather.

When we're there , we just walk around the stores and trade with folks we come across. Then end up at D Street hanging out doing more trading.

Next time you're there, let us know and we'll hook up and trade.

Well, I can tell you the reason that I don't want them...too expensive!! $25 bucks gets me the shot glass case from Michaels that holds 28! The price for the one that holds 12 is like $74.95 isn't it? Yikes.

I was just at the DLR D-Street and they have their standard stock in. I saw a bunch of the Ocean Animals, Tron, Occupations, Animal Kingdom. But behind the counter they still have some Mr. Toad AP #1 exclusives for sale ($16.95) if anyone is looking for those.

When the trading occurs at D street do we know if many of the the traders are trading with the boxes and cards? I dont want to drag my duplicates down there if I am going to run into not being able to trade a like for a like so to speak.

That was done quite a long time ago, as well as they used to give free recyclable bags when you purchase over a certain amount

Nice picture! The APs and DVCs were usually behind the counter, but because of the past few releases, they had to free that space up. I think for official display cases you'd need to go to WoD or somewhere in the parks. I know Disneyana on Main Street may have them still, not sure though

Yes they do, they get the same discount you would get on any other disney merchandise. Depends on the type of pass you have, for WDW the annual pass gets 10% merchandise discount and the Premium annual pass gets 20% discount.

I know its till the end of this year, but really Disney has set a date when the discount stops, but then after it has stopped, they extend it...last year it was until December 31, 2010, then extended for all of 2011!

I think what CON meant was that lately (for the past year and a half) Disney has said that passholders would get discounts up until a certain point. I remember last year in May, CMs were telling me I could get a discount on merchandise until like June or something. Lo and behold in June they extended til the end of the year. And for 2011 I think they extended it till the end of this year. So I think there was a typo in the post? :shrug: Disney hasn't really put a date on when the discount will end, considering the fact that they keep extending it. Just my guess.

As for the stock of Tron, I wasn't really paying attention yesterday when i was at the park, but I'm pretty sure they had all of them? Maybe I'm confusing it with the stock that was int he parks.
