This was my first attempt with oil-based paint pens. It went well until I tried to seal it to protect it. I waited a few hours for it to dry, thought it was dry, sprayed it, and watched the entire frontside bleed down and ruin the design. The backside turned out excellent. I tried to go over the front side and paint on top of the messed up design. Unfortunately it was too dark to cover up and was too thick to strip the paint off. I was ready to write this off as a huge failure and just decided to paint it in solid black to take out my frustration. I actually really liked the solid black on the front and decided to add a few paint splatters on top of it. The shiney black front actually reminds me of the gloves that most tattoo artists use. The two designs on the back are tattoos of mine.

I love the back and obviously the front was a big disappointment, but I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

This one isn't my favorite... it looked a lot better before you sprayed it.

Yeah, the back is sealed and I had no problems at all. It was very weird that the front had problems. I wanted to redo the front, but it was messed up so bad that simply putting the colors on top of the smudges wouldn't work (yellow on top of black). The only way the yellow went on top of the black for the eyes, nose and buttons was because I practically poured the paint on those spots.

No more spraying! hehe But it does fit in with an Urban collection for sure.
Very cool how you incorporated your tats in it

maybe it was the time between painting and sealing?

i have had that happen when i didn't wait long enough to seal a project.

the back is really great though. it makes me want to turn my tattoos into vinylmation.

It still looks rele cool. and are oil based paint pens good to use? i'm interested how they would be to use but am not sure if i should try.

I dig it. A series of different tattoo inspired customs would be great.
