LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Calling all scoundrels, rogues and ne’er-do-wells – Captain Jack and the crew of the Black Pearl want you.

Starting in late June, the Pearl drops anchor in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom for The Pirates League, recruiting and training Walt Disney World guests of all ages in the scurrilous ways of buccaneers.

Each guest checking in at the plunder-filled pirate’s lair gets an official pirate name. Then it’s off to Muster Station for applications of beards and eye patches, scarves and scars, earrings and gold teeth – all done with the savvy skill of a veteran pirate who shares his own tales of sea-sailing adventures.

After the new buccaneers recite a sacred pirate oath, they are officially part of Captain Jack’s motley crew, leaving their old identities behind. Past a hidden portal and into the treasure room, the shipmates have their “pirate portrait” taken before being turned loose on an unsuspecting Adventureland – and no doubt feeling right at home at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Guests can choose from three daily pirate packages:

First Mate Package: Includes bandana; choice of facial effects; scars; tattoos; fake teeth; earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; one 5x7-inch photo; and personalized pirate oath -- $49.95 plus tax.

Empress Package: Includes bandana; shimmering makeup; face gem; tattoos; nail polish; earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; one 5x7-inch photo; and personalized pirate oath -- $49.95 plus tax.

Captains Package: Includes choice of costume/outfit from selection; choice of facial effects; scars; tattoos; fake teeth; earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; three 5x7-inch photos; and personalized pirate oath -- $124.95 plus tax.

Newly donned swashbucklers can test their pirate prowess on the streets of Adventureland where they search for clues and discover treasures. And for mateys who need a little more training, learn the secrets for survival by the captain himself during “Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial.

Boys, girls and grownups ready for the pirate life can start the process by calling 407/WDW-CREW beginning May 11. For more information about The Pirates League, visit disneyworld.com/crew (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours-and-experiences/pirates-league/?CMP=VAN-FY09Q3WDWPiratesVanity).

Interesting, I think that all of these "boutiques for kids" are ridiculous

The one for girls has been incredibly popular. I imagine this will be as well.

Sounds like fun, my kid would be all over this, but crap it's pricey!
Plus he gets to look like a dirty, scarred up hobo for the remainder of the day. Nice.

Guy-liners on five year old boys. It'll be tough figuring out whose a pirate or whose posing as Zac Efron.

I know PL has an 'empress' look for girls so this isn't a boy's response to BBB as PL is for everyone. What's reidiculous about the price is that the entire kaboodle at BBB is in the ballpark of 200 dollars with no cast discount allowed. It's much cheaper for CMs to simply get your discount on the dress and accessories and only pay BBB for the hair styling.

I know that Jack Sparrow will be out tomorrow for the grand opening. w00t!

I would SO run around the park in pirate makeup if I had the chance to. That's awesome. The boutiques are pricey, but they do seem like they're a lot of fun for the children. So many little princesses running around with glitter in their hair, the park needs more scroungy pirate folk to even it out!

They actually had something like this years and years ago. It was located in the pirates gift shop and they would dress you like pirates and take your picture. Nice to see it brought back in a new form as I remember how fun the old one was!

I think it is long overdue to have a "boys" feature. Disney has always done well with young girls. I love the Pirates and so does my son - will probably look into this........

Took advantage of the 50% off deal for my daughter. We did the smaller package without the costume. She's 12 and absolutely loved it. My 3 year old was super jealous of her too (I kinda felt bad). The cast members were great to interact with, and the whole experience was pretty fun.

We saw TONS of kids and some adults that took advantage of the 50% off deal this week. Definitely seems like a cool experience.
