good idea. I cant remember if ive seen a similar thread posting the locations of the mystery and clear box trades within the parks, but it sure would be handy.
I know the pin shop right when you enter frontier-land in DLand doesnt have a box, but instead put the vinyls in little velvet tie bags and lets you select one from the basket they have. I find it a lot more fun than the blind box.

People trade there all the time. Do you mean people like us "setting up shop"? Or "people still trading" with the mystery boxes? I'm sure in WDW not many people "set up shop" but if you run into another collector and start talking you could probably get some trades done. That's happened to me a few times

I am guessing that is when someone will show up to DTD and sit in front of Dstreet and lay out their collection and let people come up and offer trades to them.
I have seen people doing this almost every evening at the Dstreet in DLR's DTD. Granted I am not up there everynight, but I am there about once or twice a month and always on random days. so yeahhh.

quick question, the list on the vinylmation.com page, is it up to date? Also are trading spots marked on the map's they hand out (like with pin locations?)

Here’s the list I’ve put together from the WDW parks..and as far as I know there the only active ones doing Vinyl trades..I’ve been in like every shop thru MK, Epcot, and Hollywood. I was just about every AK store the other day and I’m pretty certain there the only ones..one nice CM told us that there is a clear box in every store..but there is no way that’s true..I know the clear boxes are small..but I didn’t seem them anywhere other than the few that had a mystery box too
Anywho here they are:
Animal Kingdom:
Island Mercantile: 1 mystery and 1 clear
Dino Institute(exit shop for Dinosaur) 1 mystery and 1 clear
Everest Ride gift shop: 1 mystery and 1 clear
Someone told us there was one at a shop called Serka Zong Bazzar but we never found this shop so this the only one left on my list to find and check out.
Epcot:
MouseGears:- 1 mystery & 1 Clear
Mission Space Ride Gift shop: 1 mystery & 1 clear
Journey into the Imagination Ride gift shop: 1 mystery & 1 clear
Duffy Traders: 1 Mystery & 1 clear
HollyWood Studios:
Disney&Company(It’s a big long store..and the trading part is in the toy store section):1 Mystery& 1 clear
Tower of Terror Ride giftshop: 1 mystery & 1 clear
Stage One Company Store(By the Muppets section of the park): 1 mystery & 1 clear
Animation Gallery: 1 mystery & 1 clear
Magic Kingdom:
Emporium- 1 clear box that holds like 8-12 vinyls and a mystery box that comes out whenever they feel like it honestly ..but they’ll tell you some random time for an hour between 11:30-5pm..I usually find it comes out somewhere between 12:30-3pm
Uptown Jewelers on mainstreet: 1 Mystery & 1 clear
Frontier Trading Post: Jr. holding cage on one side of the store and on the other side is a case(not the usual clear) with vinyls and also a mystery box
Merchant of Venus- 1 large mystery & 1 clear
And DTD following stores do trading:
D-street: 1 clear, 1 mystery, 1 clear Jr. case
World Of Disney- 1 clear, 1 mystery at guest services and then a mystery vinyl trading case in front of vinyl section at 12:30pm, 4:30pm, and 7:30pm.
Once Upon a Toy- 1 mystery & 1 clear
Pin Traders- 1 mystery & 1 clear
Art of Disney- 1 mystery & 1 clear
And then all of the resorts have trading in there gift shops.
Also no there are no indications on Disney maps..matter a fact they don’t even list stores on their maps..sometimes that would be nice if they did lol.
Hope that helps!!:D

Thanks Disneyforever...I've copied that to a sheet and will be printing that out to take with me... can't believe how many mystery boxes there are... do they only trade at certain times (i read that was the case with the gift shops at the hotels (i'm staying at the all star music)...?

No problem!:D
From the sounds of it there used to be tons of mystery boxes but right before I started trading earlier this year they started lowering to only a few stops per park..which kinda stinks but there are definitely still places to do it and from the sounds of it DL barely has any spots:cry:
The only boxes in the parks/DTD that do it at specific times are the one in front of the vinyl section at once upon a toy at 12:30,4:30, and 7:30 and then the big one in the emporium…which I’ve found its best to go in the emporium when you come in the park and ask what time they’re doing it..some CM’s will tell you what time it will probably be pulled and others will stare at you like..umm yeah no clue. If your going to be in Magic Kingdom any length of time and you catch it or they tell you what hour its out to me its worth catching..its a huge case of like 25 numbers, a clear case, and then they keep it on cart so they can roll it out so the who bottom of the cart is normally filled of like 15-20+ jr’s aswell..I’ve only caught it a handful of times but it’s a sight to see for traders
As far as resorts I’m pretty sure they run all day long(well however long the gift shop is open) the only resorts I’ve traded in so far are Polynesian, contemporary, grand Floridian, and just the other day I did at All Star Movie resort and there was no sign there of being a certain time..I did the all star at like 7pm and it was still open so I think you’ll be good to go. The 3 via the Monarail are the easiest resorts to trade at..I like to pop in them on my way out of the park if I have time. The Polynesian one is right inside the shop to the right when you come in off the monorail...its in the actual store part not by the little shelfs they have in the lobby. The grand Floridian just follow the path on the right to there store that mostly has toys in it, and then in the Contemporary its down stairs when you come off the monorail in the shop that has mostly toys in it..they have a mystery box and also I believe a clear and then also there is a shop to the left of that that store if you go out the exit towards the back of the store and that store has a clear box…of course off the top of my head I can’t remember what these 2 stores are called  I need to work on my resort list:bonk:

Many hotels do have limited trading times and won't trade during some of the peak hours. For example, Pop Century only trades from their mystery box from 11AM to 7PM (clear boxes are out all the time). I believe the All Stars are the same way, as the gift shops in the value resorts get pretty crowded when the majority of the guests are headed out to the parks for the day (before 11) and then back in for the evening (after 7). Unfortunately, you won't know each resort's policy until you visit each one. They seem to change regularly and it's impossible to keep up with.

ah that's what i thought about the all stars... looks like it might just be check in day and check out day then lol... as there is no chance i'll be near the hotel between those hours...
