Chicago Area Trade/Meet Up? [Archive]

Hey all! So I've been getting jealous reading about the meet ups being organized, so I decided to put this out there to see if anyone would be interested! I'm in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, but this would be open to anyone that feels like making the trip.

Respond if you're interested and we can go from there! We could meet at Woodfield, another mall, or let me know if you have any great ideas! Let's hash this out and make it happen!

I live in Springfield and go up to Chicago every once in awhile for releases and Garrett's popcorn. I would love to come but I don't have anything to trade, I have customs but no traders.

Downtown is a possibility, or if everyone else is in the suburbs, we could find somewhere to meet close to a Metra station :thumbsup: I'll put you down as interested and we can discuss specifics later :)

Hey guys! I work at the Disney store on State street and we have a group of us that work there that are Vinyl addicts. We'd love to have a meet up at our store. It's right across the street from Macy's and their is a Garrett's across the street in the other direction! Let me know when you'd want to do a meet up! Maybe when the next set comes out?

Yeah, we just had a bunch of 9 inch on sale. You could have gotten the whale from animation 1 for 20 bucks! There are still some on sale, but they're not out on the floor. If you ask, they'll bring them out from the back. They're going away at the end of the month, so if you're interested act fast! I think it's mainly urban and robots for about 25? I'm not sure. I'd have to check.

My family would be interested. We don't have too many traders right now that are desirable (LOTS of Cutesters Too), but would prefer the suburbs as well.

I would be willing to make the trip if we had enough people confirmed. It sounds like most are in the suburbs or farther, so maybe we'll need to shoot for a later date.

Anyone else in for this Saturday at the downtown state street store?

I would also suggest going out for a meal before or after. Pizza would be ideal, I think...

I would have been, but I forgot we had plans for my wife's birthday on Saturday. We'll have to try and set something up for a later date; and it's also rough since a lot of us are in the suburbs :shrug:

You guys are lucky, it has been sold out everywhere :pout: I'm sick of the Disney store not having ANY vinyls. I'll have to make a trip downtown soon :)

Vinyls sell a little slow in our store. I'm surprised though, I put a tin mickey from U4 in the trade box (his heart was a little scratched up, and I thought maybe it would be a nice trade from someone) and it has sat there for about 4 days!

Is this still a thing? I am new to Vinylnation but severely addicted to vinyls and live in the Chicagoland area so I am up for a trade meet up, but I probably need to stock up beforehand..

I say we start it again! I live up by the Vernon Hills store and vinyl trading is pretty stagnant there. Even if it isn't a lot of people it might be fun to go to Woodfield as they have 3 trading locations.

I think I read somewhere that the DVC at Woodfield is hosting Vinyl and Pin trading the next three Saturdays July 14th, 21st, & 28th from 11 am to 4 pm.

I wne to woodfield at 11 and there was no one there... I was there for around an hour, grabbed a villians 3 and a urban 9 cowboy out of there mystery box and almost a full set of the new 2012 figment HM pins.

I'm sorry we missed you Figmentfan0787. We went to the trade event last week Saturday and had a good time trading. It wasn't a huge turnout, but the mix of vinyl and pin traders was about half & half and I guess there was probably 10 other traders there. We started the process of swapping out our Villains 3 for Holiday 3, picked up a Chernabog (traded 2 for 1 for that guy, not complaining at all, just yeah, that is the desirable non-chaser of the set), and scored a bunch of pins we were looking for. It was really nice. We have a birthday party today, otherwise we'd make the trek down again today.

I like this trade event, but three weeks in a row when it had been probably 6 or 8 months since the prior trade event here, I'd probably recommend they keep doing these, but do so once a month, EVERY month.

Guys can we have one of these in the city? I don't have a car so I can never make it to these. I actually work in a store next to the Disney Store on State St so I'm friends with a lot of CMs there. Block 37 is a great place for a meet up.

I want to go badly, only problem is that every Saturday this summer when they have had them I have had some sort of a wedding related thing to do for the two weddings I am in so I haven't been able to, plus Woodfield is nearly an hour away. But if we did an organized trip then I would be all for it. WALL-E even if we did them in the suburbs, there are always options, maybe the Metra? I am up for a city one too, but would need to know a few weeks in advance for sure.

Sorry, I was unaware of that rule. Wasn't trying to cause any issues. I didn't think anything of it cuz I was posting on a trading thread. I didn't want 1 person to travel all the way for something when I don't have a lot to choose from. I am new at this so again, I am sorry. I will take more caution when posting.
