Hi all! I am currently planning on my FIRST trip to WDW ever this coming January and am totally stoked about it! Since I will be staying for 5 mights with lodging at a Disney Resort Hotel, I have found that it would be much cheaper for me to upgrade my Premium Pass from DLR/DCAdv to a Premier Pass... you can't beat $250!!
Anyway, my question was this: Will I be able to add a dining plan considering that I already have a passport? And if so, will my dining plan be discounted because I have a passport? And lastly, if the option is available, about how much should I expect to spend on a Deluxe Disney Dining experience, not including the cost of the room?
While fiddling around with Disney's website, I saw that I am not able to add a dining plan without having to purchase park tickets.
A great many thanks for your help!!!

I don't really know anything about the Premier passport, but if you already booked your room you'll probably have to call Disney to add the dining plan. If you haven't booked you can try and register you passport on the Disney World site under the passholder section and see if it works(it should I think). This will allow you to see the special offers on rooms for pass holders. You can book your room with whatever passholder discount they have for that time and you can add dining. Again I'm not sure about the passport since I don't know much about it, but I assume since it's an annual pass it should fall under the same guide lines :).
The Deluxe dining plan price for 2012 is $85.52 per person per day. Sorry I don't think that number is exact. I can't bring up the page with the price info right now for some reason. The deluxe plan includes 3 meals, 2 snacks per person per day, and a resort refill mug for the length of your stay. Tips not included. Also on the deluxe plan you get an appetizer at a sit down meal along with your entree and dessert. If you plan on eating a lot of sit down meals that might be a lot of food.
I hope some of this helps :).

Thanks for your reply crazybones! Your reply reminds me...
I actually don't have the rooms booked up just yet. And, from what I understand, I will not be able to upgrade my passport to a premier passport until I visit WDW, since you can only do this at the booths apparently. Well, actually, come to think of it, I can do this probably at DLR too lol, but that will have to wait until October 20!!!!

No problem. I'd definitely try and upgrade it at DL if possible. I didn't realize you had to upgrade to a passport at a park. I know I can renew my annual pass over the phone and upgrade it if I want to, to a premium. I edited the price of the dining plan. I was able to find another site with the price. The dining plan should be that price when you go. Disney charges more for busy seasons, but January I think is a down time for them so it should be the lower amount.

I do not see any reason why you cannot add a dining package since you have a passport. I went last November and purchased room and dining package...and at WDW upgraded to a Premier pass for myself and family. You just have to go to customer service to do this (at least that was the case when I visited). Remember Florida charges tax on their portion of the annual pass. The pass was a little cheaper last year (sorry...memory a bit foggy since it's been a while)...it was $700 plus partial tax.....now I'm reaching...but I think it came out to approximately....$740/per pass. Have a great trip!

You are correct and you can only upgrade your current Premium Pass to a Premier Pass at WDW ticket booths/customer service. You will not be able to do this at DLR. I tried in Aug when I went.
