Anyone have any predictions? Some teams are coming in pretty hot like my Tigers. Here's to hoping they win

Ya the guys on the radio here want to see Detroit play the yankees first round because they think they'll be easier than boston. Boston is a real big threat this year if pitching can pull through because we all know they have hitting

That's my concern. If we can get pitchers healthy, we've got a real shot

I agree. We only have 2 pitchers here but man are they good. Verlander and fister but after that unless they play the games of their lives we don't have much. Good thing our batting is strong with cabby vmart avila peralta. Detroit boston would be a real good series. Yankees and rangers are the weak teams in the AL IMO

Speaking of baseball if anyone is watching the tigers they just came back at the top of the 9th with avila having a pinch hit homer. They are on fire right now

Anyone think Rays are going to pass the Sox? They are doing pretty good

I could not agree with you more! I want the Rays so bad. Although, I think a Tigers-Bosox matchup would be an exciting one to watch.

i'm pissed the angels decided to take a dump in september and not being the teams they needed to get into the playoffs. i think this off season they need to get a few new relievers and a 3rd baseman. i just don't want the yankees or phillies to win

Because of their former Disney ties and because the Pirates have been terrible for ages, the Angels were my second team. Although, my baseball fandom has really tailed off over the last 5 or so years.

Tough to tell right now because both wild card teams are sucking. I'm betting another, as much as I hate to say/watch it, Yankees/Phillies World Series. Once again, I hate to say it, Phillies will win. They are the only team out of all the playoff teams with no question marks in their rotation. I love Verlander and the Tigers but beyond him good luck, same with Yankees where after CC it's a tossup. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a Brewers/Phillies NLCS going to 7 games. Baseball is such a funny game, I'll give a better opinion once the playoffs start next friday. I hope atlanta falls out of it because I hate them (though not as much as the Phillies or Yankees)

The fact that they play in the same division as the Sox. If Boston somehow finds a way to choke and remove themselves, I'll be pulling hard for the Rays, or anyone else for that matter, against the Yankees

So, I'm expecting a huge root from you for the Rays!!!! Rays Win! Rays Win! Rays Win!
I hugged my wife this morning and she's like, what was that for and I told her that the Rays are in the playoffs and she's like, "You know they'll be eliminated after the first round." I told her, I think they can go far but if they do get eliminated on the first round, I could careless because the Red Sox are out again for the second straight year!!! Love the fact that Crawford took all the money to go to the Red Sox.
GO RAYS!!!

Hey, lets not knock the Cardinals bullpen. All series both Dotel and that lefty (who's name I can't spell) made both Braun and Fielder, respectively look very very silly. Fielder struck out on 3 pitches the other night and Braun did the same thing on 3 straight outside sliders from Dotel. I'd hate to see what happens when Hamilton and Cruz come up and those 2 pitchers face them

I am late to this discussion but being a Brewers fan I was also disappointed they lost to the stupid Cardinals. Needless to say I am hoping the Rangers can pull out the series. I HATE the Cardinals. Atleast they won the game I went to (I was lucky enough to go to the first game of both the NLDS and NLCS...it'll probably be another 30 years before that happens again ).

It also annoys me that they were the wild card team and made the World Series, but I guess I shouldn't complain seeing as that's the same way the Packers won the Super Bowl. haha

Add me to the list of people who loathes TLR. Especially after all his whining this year about how the Brewers cheated at home. Apparently the scoreboard operators made the lights brighter when the Cardinals were batting. Whatever.

Sometimes when a team scores a ton of runs like that, it burns them out for the rest of the series. The 4-0 Texas win today could have been a sign of that, or just a fluke. We shall see. My hope is Texas wins it, but I don't know what to guess at this point.

Add me to the list of people who loathes TLR. Especially after all his whining this year about how the Brewers cheated at home. Apparently the scoreboard operators made the lights brighter when the Cardinals were batting. Whatever.

I still have bad memories of that man from the '96 NLCS, even though the Braves actually pulled off the seemingly impossible and beat the daylights out of his team in the end, ha! It is my understanding he does do a lot of charity work though, so that is good at least.

Back in the '91 WS there was an issue with the Twins changing the temperature inside the Met. at certain points in the game to help them/hurt us. I can't remember exactly what went on, since it was so long ago and I was in elementary school at the time! It was shady, but ultimately... IMO, if you play on point, stuff like that only matters so much.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for your team, but how lucky to have gone to those two games! I had tickets to both Braves' home games of the NLDS (Games 3 & 4). Would have been my first MLB postseason games in person, ever. Was so excited. But the Braves choked, big time. So frustrating. :( Add our new manager to the list of managers I dislike... Awful hire, but since it's ATL, we will be stuck with him indefinitely. Media doesn't really care enough there to put pressure on anyone.

I see it both ways. The last team that had that happen to them was the 91 and 92 Braves. On the one hand, getting to the WS two years in a row is darned near impossible and certainly shows you are successful as an organization. On the other hand, in many ways anything less than a WS championship is a failure of a team's ultimate goal.

In Texas's particular situation, they blew it big time in Game 6, which led to them losing. Ditto for the Braves in Game 6 of the 91 WS against the Twins.

Speaking as a Braves fan, seeing a team consistently make the playoffs and then blow it at the last minute is pure, gut wrenching torture. But I would rather see them get in and screw up at the last minute than not get in at all.
