View Full Version : New York City Bridges 9"
My friend is at the NYC store right and he put me onto the phone with a cast member.
Times Square will get another exclusive figure this month...NYC bridges.
Coming out 9/17.
Sounds like a nice companion to the SF Golden Gate 9" vinylmation.

Cool. It will probably release on the 17th same as the new SF Kaliedoscope. So far no pictures for either of them. Hmmm sneaky Disney.

This 9-inch, open edition figure was also designed by Oskar Mendez. It celebrates the many bridges found in New York City. If you will be in New York City, you can meet Oskar who will be signing figures 8:00 am 11:00 am. We kindly ask that fans do not line up prior to 7:00 am. Oskar will sign only figures that he has designed. There will be a purchase limit of two (2) 9" Vinylmation figures per guest and signing limit of two (2) figures per guest, while supplies last (Note - talent appearance subject to change of cancellation without notice). -Vinylmation blog

Not a fan. If it was a 3" then I might have thought about it
I will get one - already got my friend prepared :-) It will go nice with the SF GG 9" Bridge.
Not sure about the new SF one - but it does remind me a bit of the NYC Graffiti.

SF Bridge wins. :)
Sorry NYers. :pet: If it's any consolation, your bridge design is 100 times better than kaleidoscope. :puke:

Cute but this one will not be making the "must have" list. I think I am NY'd out

Neat but not impressed...more than likely I won't be making the trip to NYC to pick one up for myself.

I like the colors of it, but not impressed with the theme. I'm not sure if collectors want to celebrate NYC bridges! Maybe something like a Wall St. theme or even a Times Square theme will be better. Maybe even Central Park?

It's cute. The art reminds me of the way cartoons used to be stylized. Like 101 Dalmations

It reminds me of the postcards at the end of Small World.

I don't like this one either. The arrows on the ears just look odd.

I like this, really digging the bridge theme so far now for the two cities (SF & NYC), hope to see more! Now why couldn't this have come out while I was in NYC last month??? Figures!
Did you know that there are 2,345 bridges in New York City?!!!!!!
That includes little bridges over Central Park ponds, etc. The figure would be about 90 ft. tall to include them all!

The store will open at 8am. The first 50 people get the robots cards (that were given out the first day of robots release). Oskar will sign only 2 pieces (however if there's not that big of a line, he might sign more). If you don't want the NYC bridges, he can sign some lion king or robots vinyls or the card.

The bridges is a nice design but I would have liked them to do something with the buildings...ex empire state bldg or the skyline

There was a long line at the beginning before it began but by 10am, it was maybe 6 people deep at any given time. I have to admit, Oskar was a nice guy when I met him, but he had so many restrictions, he didn't sign the box, he only signed the heads of the ones he designed, but he won't sign his villians. Very odd.

So then what did he sign? And since he wouldn't sign the boxes, that means you had to take the new 9" out of the box for him to sign?

The bridges are some of the more recognizable NYC landmarks. There's not much to do with Central Park, and Wall Street is not even worthy of a vinyl. Believe me, I go to school in NY and they've been choosing some of the best landmarks for Vinylmation. I really love the bridges figure, and it's a nice representation of *all* the bridges.

I live in NYC and go to school in NYC as well, but I just don't think a design based on bridges is a well thought-out theme for this Vinylmation.

He signed the bridges 9" (only on the head), the robots card they handed out to the first 50 people and the lion kings and robots he designed.

I'm all for letting them be released first in store and sell them later on at DS.com
