I recently pre-ordered the Lion King from Best Buy, and received a special edition metal lion king case. I am trying to find more of these cases for my other disney movies, unfortunately they can be very expensive since they are limited edition.

Does anyone else collect these special edition cases for their movies?

iv picked up all the best buy exclusive steelbook cases, but lately theyve stopped..and now started again with LK..but if you go to www.futureshop.com they also have exclusive Disney steelbook cases, yes its expensive but the artwork is better than the usual bluray art work

Thanks, for the info. I guess it is only gets really expensive once the steel books become unavailable in stores and ebay is your only option.

I was able to order a bunch of the Disney SteelBooks from bestbuy.com, site says out of stock, but will ship when they become available. In my case I got mine within the week, Wall E, Bugs Life, Ratatoullie, Nightmare before Christmas, a few others I cant think of, only one to get canceled was Monsters Inc. So its worth a try to order there first, but 35.00 bucks and no reward points come with these.

I have a bunch of the Steelbooks of the old Best Buy Disney releases... Nightmare, Cars, Ratatouille, A Bug's Life, Wall-E, Sleeping Beauty, Monsters Inc... and a few others (I can't remember off the top of my head). I love Steelbooks for some reason and try to get them whenever I can! I think they are just a fun way to display your movies. I stopped in at Best Buy yesterday to pick up my Lion King Steelbook. I am not planning on getting my movie there (I want the trilogy set that isn't included in the pre-order.. at least I don't think), but I really wanted the Steelbook anyway

Mshalloween, I think you can use your 7.50 deposit from the Lion King case towards any version on the Lion King movie, which may include the trilogy set, I think bestbuy is carrying too. Might be worth looking into.

Also Amazon.ca is a great place for SteelBooks, I have ordered from them plenty with no complaints.

This is why I thought I couldn't:

However, I would venture to guess that I could make a good argument if I went in-store to purchase the trilogy set. I mean seriously.. it's a Lion King pre-order!! But, it's not really a big deal. I would pay $7.50 for the steelbook on its own (but it was free with RZ certs, haha).

Has anyone who bought some of the BB exclusive Disney SteelBooks, tried to get Disney movie reward codes for them? Since its advertised on the packaging, I wanted to contact the movie rewards customer service and see.

Yes. You have to take a photo of your receipt and the barcode on the back of the paper cover and submit it to DMR. I've gotten all my points from the steelbooks I have submitted.

There are reward points; the code just isn't included in the steelbook. You have to take a photo of the UPC and your receipt to get the point. I've gotten 125 points for all of my steelbooks (each).

I collect these as well. The On Stranger Tides one is really nice. Looks great having all 4 Pirates movies together in those cases. I had Iron Man and absolutely LOVED the case, but when i saw people were paying $200+ for it I decided I didn't like it all that much LOL!

The only Steel I have is LK,. I don't want to get started with Steel Covers.

LK is a good one to have, the Wall-E one is definitely on of any SteelBook. I think you still may be able to get some of older bestbuy SteelBooks off of their site.

I think i have a steel case for a few different DVD/Blu's but i don't go out of my way to get them, i no longer rush to get them when they are out as they are soon reduced to a third within a few months

I think you guys across the way get tons of SteelBook releases, we rarely get any type of metal packaging here in the U.S.

Steelbooks are awesome! I have many of the Disney ones. When Iron Man hit the $200 mark i decided it was time we part ways :-) I'd love to get the first 2 Toy Story ones. I bought 2 of the CARS 2 books to hopefully trade one day.

Jurassic Park Trilogy came out to day and Best Buy had a really nice looking steel for it.

I have hit about 40 of the Blu-Ray steelbooks. Finally completed my Harry Potter set in all Steelbook, and currently have 10 Disney steelbooks/iron packs :). I feel that the disney ones are the best, because they are made so nicely, and are quite sturdy.

The Disney DVD club usually has quite a few different "tin" packaging's available. Right now they've got Tarzan, The Wild, Hunchback, Wall-E, Sword in the Stone, Mulan and Hercules just to name a few.

If you guys EVER need a Canadian exclusive steelbook just shoot me a PM (I work as an EC) in Futureshop... It's a little different here tho... The disc IS inside the steelbook unlike bestbuy where you can pick up the steelbook by itself

I have a huge blu-ray collection, but a rather small steelbook collection. It's nice to see some of our members collecting steelbooks :)

I used to collect the BDs that came with Digital copies, but I don't use my ipad much these days (I have a HP Touchpad and a Kindle reader), so I also stopped buying DC BDs.

Currently I only seem to be collecting Vinyls! Bizarre!
