Hey this is a convention we're talking about after all. People always go to conventions dressed up. Will you be one of them?
I've done a lot of costumes for Mickey's Trick or Treat party at DLR and other various parties. Here are a couple of them:

Alice in Wonderland group costumes. I'm the Mad Hatter.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/redproton/CostumeShr/HSM1.jpg
High School Musical costumes.

Batman Villians. I'm Mister Freeze
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/redproton/CostumeShr/GB-DLR1.jpg
Ghostbuster costumes.

Carl, Kevin, and Violet.
This will be my second time to D23 but this will be my first time dressing up for D23. I'm going on a Sunday. My girlfriend and I are going to be an interpretation of Sulley & Boo. I'm looking forward to it!
Any of you dressing?

I want to dress up as Minnie but I can't find comfortable but cute looking yellow shoes. I don't like wearing tennis shoes or flat shoes but I can't be wearing high heels either or I'll die by the end of the day hehe. I'm only going on friday so post pictures of your Sully and Boo costumes, I really want to see them :)

I feel ya. I'll be wearing heels with my snow white costume and I know it's going to be killer but it'll look stupid with flats. I wore heels last year at Infinitus for my Slytherin costume and I was fine. Granted I did take them off while I was volunteering...

I guess I'll wear my yellow heels/wedges then. I don't want to look stupid either with flats hehe. I hate flats bleh. I only wear tennis shoes or flats when working out or I'm at home. Never when I'm out and about.

I'll be wearing my costume from the Everest Challenge. Granted, it's a matching t-shirt with my mom's that says "I had a kid/ My mom had me...to go on the Dumbo ride."
And, if I remember it, I'll be wearing a necklace with the orange pony in my sig on it!

Those are some really great costumes! Did you make them yourself? I could imagine purchasing them would cost a fortune!!

Great costumes!!!!
I need a new idea for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this year.... unless I just go same as last year (see avatar)... a Haunted Mansion inspired spook (I did have quite a few families ask me to pose with them for pictures LOL!)
My wife wants to go as Ariel in her blue "townsperson" dress.

The costume I'm working on for D23 I'll also be sporting at Mickey's Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom in WDW. Thursday October 27th for those who want to know.
I'm also looking forward to seeing all the great costumes!

Sorry to hear that! I was going to order colored contacts for my costume last year but wouldn't have gotten them in time either. Can't wait to see a pic of this Sully Costume!

It's a lot of work, lemme tell ya! Keep in mind it's an interpretation. Sully is going to look somewhere between a man and a beast. I helped my friend pull together his Chesire Cat costume on page 1. Kinda think of something along those lines... ;-) :-X

I liked the take on the Chesire cat. Is that pic in the Ghostbusters costume at Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party? If so.. how difficult was getting that Proton pack through the bag check/security? I have always wondered about doing a costume that had a "weapon" with it & the probability of not being allowed to take it into the park.

Yes the picture was taken at Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party last year (Disneyland). They didn't even flinch when I walked through to be honest. If they did I would have explained that "the proton pack is categorized as equipment, not as a weapon. In the films the proton pack holds a ghost in place. It does the same fundamental job of as a cowboys lasso. It does the same exact thing, the technology is just different. Plus it's sole purpose is to be used on spirits. Not people. The Rocketteer also has equipment on his back that shoots from the end and it is also not a weapon." Haha I would have said that. Instead I heard people say things like "It's that ghostbuster and stay puft those people were talking about!" I lucked out.
But if you plan on taking something real world themed that looks more like a pistol or a sword I would use extremely careful judgment to make sure it's obvious at a glance that it doesn't operate. Otherwise things could get sour real quick for you. :look:
I had a guy walk up to me in an Indiana Jones costume and he was shocked they let me in with it because they didn't let him in with his whip.
Good luck.

Hey guys I have a bummer alert. I wont be able to attend the expo in costume after all. I got parts of my costume in this week and it's not the right color. I wont have enough time to dye it before the expo so I'll be there with my girlfriend wearing "RedVirtue Vinylmation Arts" T-Shirts instead. The costumes should definitely be ready to show off for Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom though. We will take pictures then for sure!
Hope to see all the rest of your costumes though!

It sucks they sent you the wrong colors. I was looking forward to seeing pictures of your costume. But I'll see it later though :)
I'm not going dressed as Minnie after all. I just couldn't find a polka dot skirt so I quit looking. So I'm just going to wear my normal clothes.
