Interesting. Seems like a fitting theme for Jrs. And there are PLENTY of possible designs they can come up with from such a large attraction.

Definitely agree with this statement. I skipped on Jr #3.

I would love to see more Character designs, but unlike #2 I would like them to look more like their 3" counterparts with faces and such. Or even more park inspired Junior series would be welcome.

Would have liked to have seen these in 3" size maybe as a set of 24, but the juniors work too.

I wonder if they're going to be the traditional IASW figures, or if some of the Disneyfied characters from IASW at Disneyland in California will be included as well

They have now announced them on the vinylmation blog.

July 28, 2011
It's a world of awesome! We are excited to share a first look at the packing for the next series for Vinylmation, Jr.. Series #4 will be themed to the classic Disney attraction, "it's a small world." Designed by lead Vinylmation™ Artist and Vinylmation, Jr. creator, Thomas Scott, this series will make its debut at the upcoming D23 Expo in August 2011.

http://i56.tinypic.com/2e3uz34.jpg

Similar to previous Vinylmation, Jr. releases, this limited release mystery series will contain 18, 1.5-inch figures (16 known figures and two mystery chaser figures). Each figure will come with a key chain clip.

Stay tuned as we will be sharing additional images of the figures in the coming weeks (like this one):

I think someone confirmed for us that the Jr.'s would switch between more Urban designs and more Park designs for each series. Jr. 1 was clearly more Urban, 2 more parks, etc.

Thus, like Star Trek, the even ones will be the good ones, and the odd ones will just be okay.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I only bought a couple of juniors to use as handbag zipper pullers but a whole small world set is very enticing. Given that it is one of my daughters two favorite rides (small world and teacups) I have spent a LOT of time looking at these characters over the years!

I have never been a fan of the Jr's, always thought they were pointless. However I think I may love this set! It is the perfect fit for the 1.5"ers. I may make my first purchase of a Jr series (not including ones that come with 3").

I've been informed that we're getting this series...whether it appeals to me or not :D

It would be cool though if the chaser ended up being a Small World version of Woody or Jessie or whatever Disney characters they've put on some versions of the ride.

I have a couple of jr 1's that I use as zipper pullers on my handbags - they work well as long as you glue the key chain bit into the vinyl or else they unscrew and come off.

For the small world juniors I would be more inclined to display them, but I may buy some extras to hang on my daughters school bag.

How much will they run and will both chasers be in a full box?

Jr's are $8.95 each and there are 36 in a box - so $322.20 + tax if applicable.

There are 16 in a set and two chasers so a box has two full sets of 18.

Bingo! That's my problem with Jrs. They're half the size, so why can't they be half the price? The keychain argument is irrelevant, it doesn't justify paying an extra $3. They can keep their keychain at that point. I don't think there's a huge need for Jrs, to be honest.

I have a 7/11 dice hanging from a keychain for the good luck halo effect. I would have never subjected it to environmental punishments if I didn't have a double of that figure. :)

I also think the Jr.'s are over-priced. At $7.95 they're pretty much indistinguishable from the 3" price point. But there are some great great designs I wish were on a larger figures.

They may have raised the price. My wife and I bought series 2 Jr.s at $8.95 in downtown Disney. We each wanted one, just for fun; but because of the price, we won't be buying any more. Not even this series, even though I like it a lot :(

Thanks for the link. Some GREAT designs in this set for sure. But I'm kind of bummed at the number of people figures in this set. Some of them don't even look that different from one another. I would have much preferred 16 abstract designs like the sun figure. I am holding out hope that the chasers will make up for this. Maybe one will be the platypus while the other the dingo from the Australia area.

I'll say it again: I LOVE this set!

I was a little disappointed when I saw the box images of all of the designs and saw so many of the people designs. I was hoping for more abstract and animal designs (which the ones in this series I think are absolutely brilliant). But now that I've seen the chasers, I can definitely live with the people designs. Absolutely PERFECT choices for the chasers. I can't wait to get these!

Both chasers are great! I think this series may do well enough, and there are enough designs sill available, for another Jr. series.

Absolutely PERFET choices for the chasers.

Absolutely agreeing with you. Wish I had the chance to confirm with Thomas Scott @d23 about his intention for the chasers. This set, for me, is the most "complete" set. I love how the chasers represent the beginning and the end of the series and also the ride.

I had zero interest in these, like the other Jr. releases, until I saw the chasers. I got to say, I'm going to have to pick up a few of these and hope I get lucky...

Are the IASW mini's tough to find? I don't see much talk of them on here and there aren't any on DS.com or eBay. Where they a limited run or just not that popular?

They are all over the place at DLR. I started collecting them and I have 9 right now. Luckily have not gotten any duplicates and got one of the chasers. I'm going to get more next time I go back to DLR.

They're not limited Jrs. nor should they be hard to find. I'm guessing that they are an afterthought from all the Star Wars and upcoming releases this month.

For the record, I did saw them at Mouse Gear and the Emporium two weeks ago. If they were $2-3 cheaper, I'd have bought a dozen. They ARE cute.

Hmmm I guess I need to look a little harder. I love the ride and would like to get the VM's for it (minis, 3" and 9").

In general, I think people tend to be less-excited about the Jr. series as a whole. Personally, I love them, but considering how Jr. 3 was so ... let's say "un-exciting," Jr. 4, awesome as it is, was always going to be an uphill struggle for attention.

Jr. 6, of course, will likely blow the doors off when it comes to Jr. collecting. If there's one thing virtually everyone agreed on from day one, it's that dwarves as Jr. figures were a must.

I love the small world juniors! I can't wait for the other series to come out!
Have you and Silvered found any small world at the trade "tray" at the emporium? I never remember to bring my juniors and so I refuse to look because I know I'll find cute ones.

I haven't made it down to the Emporium recently, but Silvered found the Jr. 3 Good Luck/White cat there last week or the week before.

Last night at D-Street, four of the six in the box were small world. We just missed the sun, snagged by the people trading in front of us. I had the spilled salt from Jr. 3, which was already in the box, so the CM took theirs out, took it in the back and came out with the Indian girl, so I think they're trying to use Jr. 4 for trade box refreshing. (I took the Dutch boy). :D

In this set I think the two chasers are the best figures.

I fell in love with this series last month while I was at WDW. I wish I bought even more! :) (I got 4 while I was there)

I actually really like the set! I picked up two at D-Street, but I wish I would have grabbed a few more. There is always next time though :)

All stand-alone juniors (not packaged with a 3" or 9") have keychains attached. You can detach the keyring and unscrew the hoop from the top of their head, leaving a small, barely noticeable hole

Cool. My interest in this series just went up considerably. Been worried about displaying with key chains littered about. Thank you Hawk!
