I'm not a pin collector, but I'm sure many of you have heard about this. Disney is releasing a series of pins that feature 2 sides. They celebrate new rides but also the classic rides they replaced. Pretty cool looking pins for Horizons/Mission: Space and World of Motion/Test Track.

This set may actually result in my first pin purchase if I'm lucky enough to get my hands on them. But I think they're to be an extremely limited edition set.

Is it magnetic or something? I don't get how else they could have two sides.

Good question HT. I wonder if it has like a pin on top so it hangs a bit and can be flipped over.

I was wondering that myself. I want to say that it's a spinner in the middle. No, not the totally kick-ass spinners on cars. I remember hearing that the middle would spin. Look closely at the pic and you'll see little tabs above and below the circles that look as though they would house the pins that the token would spin on.

Ah HA, found it. It's a spinner. I knew I remembered seeing that somewhere. Here's the concept art:

So the pin part is on one of the top corners, I guess, huh?

After reading up on them, it looks like it's going to be a series with a monthly release beginning in January. 1,000 of each design will be made. Others besides the 2 previously shown?
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor - The Timekeeper
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin - If You Had Wings

I wouldn't mind getting the first two you posted, but I don't even remember The Timekeeper or If You Had Wings

I know that I never saw either of those two while in high school. I remember riding the TTA while If you Had Wings was still operating...but I don't think we ever rode it.

They loved their first 2 children...but the 3rd was such a pain in the ass, we had to skip a lot of the cool attractions. :look:

You were born! :D
Nah, just kidding. You're my little sister...I'm obligated by law to harrass you whenever possible.
But back to the pins...that's only 4...what would the other 8 be if they are in fact releasing one per month?
Possibly a Mr. Toad/Winnie the Pooh pin?

The only other thing that somes to mind would be 20,000 Leagues and Ariel's Grotto? That doesn't sound cool at all.
Oh, just thought of Stich/Alien Encounter too.

Hm, think they'd be willing to eliminate Ariel and Stitch and just make a pin with 20K and AE together?

No...but I wouldn't want it that way. This way you can turn the pin with the good side facing out so no one ever has to see the newer attraction.
Maybe Captain EO/Honey I Shrunk the Audience?

This is very cool, I wonder if they will expand this to other rides. The two they choose are cool, but not my favorites.

Wouldnt it be cool if they did the same thing with vinyls?
When you get bored of looking at one side, you just display them
the other way.
I'd be happy to see something like that =)

That sounded kinda harsh.
I'm tired of all the new attraction-bashing that has become all too common on Disney websites/forums/blogs. It's really depressing and aggravating.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions. Don't take it personally.

Yeah, I personally don't have any problem with any of the new attractions (except Stitch, that's just wasted space); but I think most people (myself for sure) just miss the old stuff and would more-than-likely still pine over the older stuff no matter how great of an attraction it's replaced with. We're all just a bit sentimental.

I agree Stitch is just lame but it wasnt like I was a big fan of AE...I just liked to try and get away with not have the bar come all the way down.
But I think for the rest of the replaced attractions, at least for me, I like the new ones better (except Pooh) but I like the idea of remembering the old :)

SERIOUSLY?
You'd think I would have just called someone's baby ugly?
It's my opinion. You have your own opinions I'm sure. Personally, I think Ariel's Grotto and Pooh's Playful Spot are two incredibly ridiculous wastes of space. I wouldn't want to wear a pic showing those places. As far as the other pins, I wouldn't mind either side showing. The point is, there are some older attractions I wish were still around and some new ones thatI like to. What's wrong with that?
