This was on Disney Parks blog. I can't wait to try this place out. Glad to see some vegetarian options too.

Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure park continues to debut new experiences. Fans now are lining up to take a dive under the sea in The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. But as a foodie, I was just as excited to see my favorite Corn Dog Castle, right next to the attraction, back in business – that spicy dog is a must.

Now two more quick-service restaurants have opened in Paradise Pier for lunch and dinner, side by side with 900 shared seats.

At Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, on-stage kitchens turn out flatbreads, pastas and freshly tossed salads. Our top choice is the BBQ chicken pizza with applewood smoked bacon, smoked Gouda, mozzarella, red onions and cilantro. You can go for traditional cheese or pepperoni, and there’s also a Portobello mushroom and spinach flatbread with pesto, artichokes, mozzarella, ricotta-salata and Pecorino Romano cheeses.

Pasta fans can dig into classic spaghetti and meatballs, pasta tossed with chicken in a sun-dried tomato cream sauce, or five-cheese ravioli with pesto and toasted pine nuts. Three salads are on the menu, and our favorite is the field greens with Craisins® dried cranberries, raisins, caramelized pecans and a basil vinaigrette. There’s also a hearty chicken Caesar and an Italian chef salad with provolone, salami, capocollo, fresh mozzarella, cured ham, roasted peppers, olives and greens in a red wine vinaigrette.

On a hot afternoon, sip a Bud Light or Peroni and watch the world go by.

Next door, Paradise Garden Grill has a Mediterranean spin with varieties of skewers and kabobs – lemon-oregano chicken, beef kefta, grilled steak or veggie and tofu served with rice pilaf, cucumber salad and grilled pita, with your choice of sauces to make it your own: Moroccan chili tomato, chimichurri, tandoori-spiced yogurt and tzatziki (a yogurt-cucumber-garlic sauce). A classic Greek salad with grilled pita also is on the menu. For kids, there’s a grilled chicken skewer or a beef kabob, both served with choice of sauce. Grown-ups can pair their lunch or dinner with a Belgian-style Blue Moon or Boston-brewed Sam Adams beer.

Let us know what you’ve tried and if you have a favorite dish.

Seriously, we were there Monday and Tuesday and they were still working on them. Missed it by a couple of days. Shucks.

When I was there the weekend before last it didn't look like they were going to make the July 1 date. They must have cut some corners like they did for Tangaroa Terrace. There were some spots that still needed to be painted when we were there. Nothing major but very not Disney.

On another note, I really want to eat at Paradise Garden Grill. If my grill could talk it would tell you I like everything better on a skewer.

ooo, I haven't been over on that side of the park for a while, I'll have to check that out when I go tomorrow...I wonder if it'll be like Plaza Inn where they have refillable drinks...I certainly hope so! :)

Ate at Paradise Garden Grill on Friday (7/1/11) - have to say it was pretty tasty. My husband and I had the Steak Skewer plate - $11 for one skewer, rice pilaf, and a cucumber salad along with sauce of your choice on top of skewer. I originally ordered the Ketka skewer..but the meat was completely raw. Took it back and they glady exchanged it for the steak skewer. Will try Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta next time around.....the pasta and flat break pizza looked tempting.

That is good to hear. I have been looking forward to this place for a while. I can't wait to try it. It will either be this month or the end of September. Either way it isn't too long to wait.

i tried the portobello and artichoke pizza, and i was quite impressed. it's not quite cpk, but definitely more than you are expecting from theme park food.

I forgot to post here after our last trip.

I had one of the Kabobs from the Paradise Garden Grill and my wife had a flatbread from Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta. Both were incredible. This has jumped right to the top of my favorite eating spots in DCA.

We went back to Paradise Garden Grill last week and I got my four year old hooked on the food. He loved everything on my plate. Now if only his older brother would be a little adventurous and try some food.

we have had the kabobs, beef/lamb and a couple of the flatbread pizzas. my wife and i really enjoyed all that we had. but for some reason the last couple times we never even made it to that part of the park. when we go back for new years we will definitely make a stop

We are considering going down there again after Christmas and would gladly stop in again. I have only been there twice and had the same thing both times. I need to try something new.
