Any idea/news/word when these are supposed to be released? When rumors of an Alice set surfaced, I was hoping it would be a Tim Burton version of Alice from the film. :(

No idea. At first I wasn't expecting it before the Fall. This auction is from Hong Kong so if it is a vinyl that somebody bought (and it's not a reject), then I'm assuming it will eventually get here. No clue yet. Others might have more news.

Looks like the seller gets all their vinyls from the discard pile, as they have a very scuffed Boo. It is nice to see the Hedge Hog though..... I am really excited about this series now.... Yeah I knew that about the eBay guy. I linked tho his auction and the article is entirely about his auction. :)

And yes, the molds are quite different. Do a search on the forum. There is a lot of discussion. (a lot is sort of an understatement) but that's for another day.

It will work just like the two Kermits. There will be enough difference in the two Alices to make them stand out from each other.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say that it DOES bother me that these will be new mold. My two favorite things, Pirates and Alice in Wonderland, will both be released in the new mold and it's so upsetting! I will probably still end up buying these but will still cringe a little when looking at them. :lol: But my love for all things Alice will not let me NOT buy this set. The hedgehog is cute, can't wait to see more pics! :)

I hadn't heard about this set until now. I am a huge Alice fan, so I will definitely be getting it. The hedgehog is very cute. Can't wait to see more pics :)

I don't believe anyone should feel stifled as to their opinions, but I can definitely see your points about the debate in this thread. :(

I could totally understand why the old mold/ new mold debate would come up in the first couple of series discussions. It was a new announcement and our reactions were raw. But it's pretty clear from here on out, the old mold is phasing out and the new mold is going to be the canvas for future designs. At some point we all just have to take a deep breath and accept that it is what it is.

So... My personal opinions of the mold aside... I really hope this series has a Dinah. She is one of my favorite Disney kitties besides Figaro from Pinocchio. I can't wait to see more concepts from this series. :happy:

About this series, it certainly looks very promising. I don't know if I'll buy the whole set, watch me end up with the whole set at the end :lol:. I think it would be hard if they would have based it on the live action. I guess I'm one of the few (man, if making $331.5 million is a few, I'm afraid what's a lot. As to date, it's in the top 25 money making movie of all time), who loved the movie.
Now, real quick about the mold, this was the first non Sea Creature on the new mold that I've seen and I thought I wanted to put a say on how I felt. I know for a fact that we shouldn't debate about the new mold because no matter how much we like it or not, IT'S HERE TO STAY! Learn to like it or leave it.
Now, back to Alice in Wonderland Vinylmation Series, this is one series that I wouldn't mind being open window.

It was a joke because I think we sorta know everybody's opinion on the new mold. But to be honest, the comments about the mold weren't that harsh, nor were there pages of them at the time. So I just kinda thought it was a "here's what I think about your mold problems" post. hahaha I almost posted "let's focus more on the design and not the mold" but I didn't. I do agree that it's a been there done that discussion. I don't mind people mentioning the mold per se but I would hope it would be in passing as they talk about the set as well.

As for the actual Hedgehog, I'm really underwhelmed. It's one of the most plain designs yet. Wonderland is such a colorful, bright, downright wild world that I just expect better. Or at least I hope for better.

I feel pretty confident that this set is going to blind-boxed considering that no one is going to buy a hedgehog vinyl in an open window box. He's not a very recognizable character.

I tend to think that the Queen of Hearts will be in Villains series 2.

I hope that we get a Mad Hatter 3" ... with a hat accessory like Abe Lincoln or Peter Pan, instead of built into the design.

The Disney Store calendar has updated to include the Alice in Wonderland vinylmation series scheduled to release on August 19th! Of course this date is tentative, we all know how Disney likes to change release dates a bunch of times, but as for now this date is official! :happy:

Hopefully we will see an update on the VM blog within the next couple weeks, considering this is supposed to be released before the Lion King series.

Yes, Disney Stores will be carrying Urban 7. However, the coupon states on the back that it is not good for use towards "art and collectibles" so this will be interesting to see if either A. The registers will let you use the coupon on vinylmation and B. If CM's tell you "no" before even trying to ring them with the coupon. We can hope that you can use the coupon on vinyls but right now I'm leaning towards no.

By the way, if anyone wants to grab one of these coupons just visit your local Disney Store and make a purchase and you will get one. I can also post the online code for anyone who doesn't have a Disney Store near them, I'll get it tomorrow. Or do you have the coupon in hand AnthonyFromLasVegas? You can post the online code if you do, I don't have a coupon handy right now.

I am excited about this set. But makes me wonder if I want to purchase the mad hatter set. Hadn't really wanted it, but if there is going to be a whole set.. Hey everyone. I was just at my local Disney Store and the Cast Member there told me that the Alice in Wonderland set will be released on August 19th and that Disney Stores will be carrying them. Not 100% sure if they are Disney Store Exclusive like the Villains were though. I can't wait!!!!

Hooray!! Finally some news about when they are going to release the series!!! I hope Disney doesn't change the date, gives me something to look forward to after the Robots release.

I can confirm this. Was at my store today and heard similar news albeit with a slightly earlier release date (they didn't say specifically). That being said they sometimes get mixed up about release dates which is understandable considering the barrage we're getting right now.

I really hope the march hare is in this set. I would have to say Alice in wonderland is my favorite movie so I'm really excited about this series. I can only imagine what crazy things they could do with hats with this series. I'm sure Hatters need all the work they can get, even if the hats are for 3" vinyls. lol

I heard a rumour that it may be released in paris towards the end of this month, and it will be an exclusive there for a month or 2 before it is released in the US. I can't wait for this series so I wish that Disney would put out an announcement

Given that this series hasn't even been officially announced yet (seriously - good luck getting anyone to even remotely acknowledge it; the only reason we know about it at all is on account of a sticky-fingered factory worker), August was wildly unlikely anyway. :shrug:
