Went to DLR D-Street yesterday and they have so many cases of Star Wars haha.
I can confirm. I went to DLR D-Street last night and they had a stack of about 10-12 sealed cases behind the counter... I wonder how long they'll last after tomorrow's releases.

That's funny. They told my friend two weeks ago that they were gone until Star Wars 2. Maybe I'll be able to get some next week. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

Sorry, this may be a dumb question... Does anyone know if there are any cases inside the park? If so I want to go pick one up today! But D-Street doesn't have an AP discount, do they?

Yes they do. Most shops in DTD at DLR have AP discount. I picked up a case tonight from D-Street. From what I saw they had a few more cases on the floor. Price was 286.80 - 57.36 (20% Premium AP discount) + 17.78 tax = $247.22.

just got back from disneyland today. my friend bought a case from the world of disney and got a ghost chaser. they had 1 case partially full on the floor as of 8pm and the lad said she had a couple more cases in the back.
d street had a couple full cases with one missing a ghost obi pulled by a nice gentleman. they were emptying and refilling cases on the floor with other open cases. the CMs said there were a couple more unopened cases in the back.

Can anyone give an update at DLR?
Dstreet has a good amount. But I was kinda bugged by the way the sealed cases on the floor were sealed. They were in very "Loose" plastic wrap, not like normal sealed cases that are sealed tight.
Im not saying anything but the wheels started to turn in my head after the whole resealed Disney Store cases thing from awhile ago. Money makes people do strange things.
But if anyone pulls a ghost obi wan in one of those loose sealed cases let me know, it will ease my mind.

i noticed those when i was there during thanksgiving. and i did notice one guy pick one blox and pull a ghost obi. my friends and i had to tell him he had something special since he had no clue and just liked star wars stuff. i know one example is not very much but at least i saw one.

I pulled a ghost obi last Wednesday or Thursday at DLR D-Street. And since I opened the box over at Tangaroa Terrace at Disneyland Hotel and even my four year old knew this was a special vinylmation I am pretty sure that I am not the one that Rynosaur saw.
I was at D-Street Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and they had plenty of Star Wars the entire time I was there.

i am sure that it wasnt you too. mainly since you said you opened at tangeroa terrace. the guy who i saw buy it had opened it right outside of d street and it was his first and only vinylmation.
and congrats on your ghost obi

What are my odds of finding Star Wars blind boxes at Disneyland Resort tomorrow?
I can't predict what my reaction would be if they were in stock: 1) Finally! I must buy a tray! or 2) Meh, I've gone this long without owning a single Star Wars vinyl, why spoil it now.

CrazyChief's can report Star Wars was in stock at World of Disney and Once Upon A Toy in Downtown Disney in WDW. D-Street did not have any. So if you're down go there looking for them. i went to D-Street at DLR this past friday night, and they still had a good number in stock. i remember seeing only one or two sealed trays out on the floor... i didn't ask if they had any sealed trays in the back, and i didn't check anywhere else (e.g., inside the park or world of disney).

Also just got back from DLR today after a friend telling me on Xmas that they had Star Wars. D street had about 20 sealed cases that I saw. Star Traders had a few in the back from what a CM told me, and an open case, and picked case up front. Most stores that carried vinyls had star wars which seemed odd, but definitely a welcome site.

Wow that sucks for you. I thought the Ghost-Obis were getting easier to find but, I guess they're just as hard to get as they were a couple months ago. When I went to the Star Wars re-release signing back in June I just got two cases. First case I picked had Ghost-Obi and the other one had a regular Obi :D, before I went home that day I bought three more blind-boxes just for kicks and got another Obi, Darth Vader and R2-D2. But wow, 7 cases. You should definitely sell a case or two to buy a Ghost-Obi, but I do suggest keeping some extra Star Wars vinyls... at least thats what I'M doing. This is definitely a series that will hike up in price in a year or so, especially since it's the first star wars vinyl series, and it's on the original mold! :D

To be honest a lot of folks are hesitant to buy cases on Ebay anymore especially the Star Wars series due to the chance that the case was "cherry picked"
But ultimately its up to you since you bought the case

Also, as much as it might be valuable later on, there's also the chance it won't be. Just look at beanie babies. I once heard a wise parable.
A woman was given an expensive bottle of perfume as a gift. She had never had nice perfume before, and wanted to save it for only very special occasions. When an occasion special enough finally rolled around, she got out the bottle only to find that it was all gone - evaporated.
Just something to keep in mind. :)

Due to them being SW themed, there will always be interest as long as there are SW fans. Regardless of what happens to VM's in the future. I bet that if Beanie Babies made some that were SW themed, those particualr designs might still have some value.

Was at WDW yesterday and they have Star Wars randomly scattered through the parks (for sure at EPCOT and DHS) as well as DSTreet has several cases. Due to them being SW themed, there will always be interest as long as there are SW fans. Regardless of what happens to VM's in the future. I bet that if Beanie Babies made some that were SW themed, those particualr designs might still have some value.
Yeah I agree SW themed they will still have some value but probably that around retail if vinyl's ever tank.
Was at WDW yesterday and they have Star Wars randomly scattered through the parks (for sure at EPCOT and DHS) as well as DSTreet has several cases. I think Ive bought about 4 trays now through trying to BlindBox the ghost Obi. The guy in front of me got one, though and he was super excited about it so that was nice.

That is too bad. I was at Disneyland on February 3, 4, & 5. They had Star Wars in almost every store that sold Vinylmation. I was beginning to think that they were going to be in stock forever.
Sorry you missed out. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come back again though. After the release in October my mom was at D-Street at DLR and they told her that they were gone and wouldn't be back until series 2. I went down at the end of November and they were back.

WDW didn't have any SW in December while DLR had plenty. Now I believe it's the opposite. It could be a way to have it available in both parks before the next series comes out.

I was at Mickey's of Hollywood in Hollywood Stuidos on Sunday waiting for Phylers so we could go see John Carter and there was a guest standing in front of the Park 8 tay and just systematically shuffling them. He was very intent and not pulling any out to buy, just standing there and seriously giving them a good shuffle. He'd started on the Star Wars tray before I left. It was the strangest thing! You know I saw something similar too at Hollywood studios last thursday. We went into Villians and Vogue to trade and before I trade I decided to buy some Park 8 well after I grab a few I see a guy and and girl walk in and head to the Star Wars cases along the wall and the girl proceeds to shuffle the boxes. After she finished one case she went to the next and kept moving from one case to another all the while the guy is just standing in one spot looking around the store. Later after I ride Rock N' Roller coaster & ToT we go into Mickeys & Company to trade. Sure enough not long after we walk into the store I see the same people and the girl again shuffles the blind boxes

So how you guys are mentioning the shuffling, I saw the same thing yesterday at the art store on main street in disney world. And heres the deal, at first this guy appeared to just be shuffling them so I stood behind him and waited so I could grab a box. Turns out, he saw me, jumped up and ran out of the store and he had a small scale in his hand as he left. He was weighing boxes but I didn't see the scale until he left so his shuffling was actually a method to weigh them without being noticed I guess? I was just waiting to get a box so if you see an extreme amount of shuffle, look out for a scale cause thats what this guy was doing and he obviously knew it wasnt cool because he ran when he saw me watching him.

I know the person I saw was just shuffling te boxes cause while she was shuffling the first star wars tray which was near empty she literally moved them all upfront into two rows. I thought at first she was combining them in hopes a cast member would bring out a new tray, but that wasn't the case. The girl was using both hands to shuffle them, and I believe I heard her tell the guy that was with her that she shuffles the boxes all the time.
Another story was when I was at the Caribbean resort and looking at the vinyl display there. The manager came up to me and basically told me how some guy sat at the display for at least 2 hrs in search of a vinyl he wanted, which he did end up getting.......after the manager told me that story he kinda shook his said and said, yeah I don't care about those lil things and walked away

Not too strange. From the patterns we've been seeing, it seems a safe bet that they've been managing the stock in order to stretch out the availability. These pretty much have to last at least until Star Wars Weekends, and the hope internally is that they're still available for CVI should Series 2 run into any issues. Granted, both those events are in or around WDW, but I suspect DLR would be following similar stocking strategies. :)

You do know that you can have your order shipped to a UPS store near the Candian border and they will forward the package to your province? They only charge $10 to do this, so you pay Disney once for domestic shipping and then pay UPS to forward, way cheaper than $125.

I'm just teasing. But yes, while these vinyls do seem to be everywhere all the time now, there was a time when they were few and far between. Methinks the vinylmation team is still learning their supply and demand curve as the collector base grows and changes.

I think they are very popular with older fans and people who might not get "disney" as much but love star wars... add in its a excellent set with all the well known characters, and no wonder its flying off the shelves,

I notice there's been some talk of shipping from the merch line, and yes the prices are pretty high, but I thought it might be helpful to share some pics from my experience. The shipping was pricey, but I was very impressed with the packaging - MUCH better than DS.com.

Hope this is helpful! This was my first time ordering vinyls this way, and I didn't know what to expect.

That is definitely legit! How much was the shipping?? If you don't mind me asking?

Oooh I can look it up later, I don't remember exactly, but I know that shipping cost about as much as an additional vinyl, it was like $10.00.

Agreed, but it is a lot more than DS.com. But I mean, for secure packaging and vinyls you can't get anywhere else I think it's worth it. :)

Better than my ds.com I just got. It's like the played kick ball with it lol. Fortunately the contents were in great shape. Lol. I swear they must watch hockey or soccer and act out scoring scenes with our orders before shipping. Actually it's probably ups, still a funny mental picture though.

Hopefully there will still be a few boxes left at Disney Land at the end of the month. I'd really like to get a couple boxes as I really love Star Wars. :)

Same here - no blind boxing Ghost Obi in this household!!!
The price is nearly down to where I think I might bite the bullet and buy one. Started out at $300 but all the latest ebay sales are around the $140 - can't see it going lower so might just do it soon!! lol!!

Until when will those be available? I want to buy a whole tray, but only end of this month at the earliest and end of july at the latest. I hope I will still be in time for it. I would hate myself if i passed the opportunity to buy a whole set of star wars. :(

Unfortunately no one can answer this question. Everyone thought they were completely sold out last year and not coming back for awhile and then they came back. I think once they're gone now they will be gone for good. I do believe series 2 will soon be around the corner, but how soon I'm not to sure, but I wouldn't wait to, to long in buying your case.

These trays for series 1 were still everywhere the other day I went to the park. I wonder if they will decrease a lot once series 2 is out?

Agree. Was in DTD, DHS, and MK this weekend. Saw trays or loose boxes at Once Upon a Toy, World of Disney, D-Street, Tatooine Traders, and Merchant of Venus.
Bought 13 hoping to fill out my puny set of 4, wound up getting to 3 short of a set.

SW1 is still everywhere. No 2 yet except what was put out on accident by cast members.

First series. The second has yet to officially hit shelves; it wouldn't yet be found in regular numbers. ;-)

So far, my tray of Star Wars 2 is the only one reported being sold by WDW. It was most likely a case of the cast member grabbing it by accident and I just happened to spot it on his cart.
This means that anything said in this thread still pertains to Star Wars Series #1. For a few more days any way.

Yep, I was referring to Series 1. Sorry for any confusion.

Hey all!
Just got back from Disney World and started my Star Wars series 1 collection(and all vinyls). They still had tons of trays everywhere. I am worried now that they may stop selling series 1 with 3 coming out.
I'm going back in January and am wondering if I should buy a tray. I like blind boxing though.

Hi all! Are there still any Star Wars series 1 vinyls around in WDW? I'll be heading down there at the end of March and realized that's the only series I'd want to blind box from right now.

I am not expert when it comes to stock but when I was there in January and had a friend just come back, all that we could seem to find was Star Wars 2. But I am sure someone else here could confirm.

I was just thinking the same, but I have an awful feeling that there's only SW2. I'll be down there 3/16-3/22, so I'll let you know what I find!

I was told when I was there(WDW) in January that Star Wars series 1 is discontinued. I went all over looking for them and talked to various cast members and nothing. I was heartbroken!!! I wound up buying a case on Ebay.
However, some people on here have said that there are some in California but I can not confirm that.

Ditto Studios and MK. I think it's safe to say that Star Wars 1 is done in WDW.

I can. ;-) It remains available at DLR. Whether some of that stock gets shipped to WDW ahead of SWW is anybody's guess, but I wouldn't really count on it.

Off the Page at DCA had a case of Series 1 last week. Haven't seen them anywhere else in DLR.
