Did my weekly phone call this morning, and of course, they do not have them in yet.

I asked if they had any idea of when they would return, and she said they have no idea because they've been waiting for the shipment from the factory since August :yikes: So hopefully soon, but there's no "release date", they'll just put them out as soon as they get them.

In all reality, I think earlier in this thread, Silvered mentioned talking to people at either FP or a D-Street release and heard that they'd hit the warehouse on Oct 9 and would be distributed around the property shortly after that. I could be wrong though :shrug:

That's promising. The merchandise line has NO idea, but that's not surprising (after the Florida Project, I called to ask if they had any of the Florida Project Vinylmations and she acted like I was from Mars. "Florida Project? What's a Florida Project? I have never even heard of that. Are you sure you have the name right?". I was like JUST TYPE IT INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND TELL ME IF ANYTHING COMES UP!!! :bonk:)

Because of licensing issues with LucasFilm, Star Wars will always be a Park Exclusive, so the the Disney Stores will never get them.

Also, I will try and drop by D-Street on my way home from class to see if they have it yet!

Just called D-Street in DLR and they said they have a ton in today but she said since it was Twittered, she doesn't know how long it will last. She said that the park has it as well but most people would probably go to D-Street instead of inside the park since it will be easier to go in and out. I'm going to make a trip later. I'm really itching to go now.

Well like I said, I just talked to a sales clerk from D-Street (I left a message on their voice mail and she called me back within 10 mins) and she said they got a ton in the store today, so I would say it's pretty much confirmed. :thumbsup: Or we can wait until others start reporting before we can deem it confirmed. All I know is I'm making a trip to DLR today. :happy:

Well I just got off the phone with them and no I didn't speak with Heather (she was on break) but the lady on the phone had to do research on them cause when she looked it up on the computer it had a (do not sell) message next it. Butane fund out that and confirmed what was told to HawkeyeVinyl that they are not at the warehouse yet. But she told me that it won't be till Monday when I can order any Star Wars. So I guess if we can't order them on Wednesday or Thursday then we will have to try on Monday :shrug:

All trays have two full sets of 11, one chaser, and one filler (stormtrooper in this case, mufasa with lion king, etc.). Plus with Star Wars you have the chance of getting the "super-chaser", ghost obi wan kenobi.

It's not really crazy. It will be cheaper in the long run to buy trays unless you are lucky and can also trade for the ones you are missing. If you don't get the chaser, then chances are you will pay more to complete the set of 12 than buying a tray and selling or trading the other 11 and the filler. If you don't have the money now, then blind boxing is the only way to go. Also buying trays is not as fun as blind boxing.

If you're looking for a tray, I just bought the last one from Tattooine Traders right before they closed at 8:00 PM tonight. They still had about 30-40 single boxes stacked behind the counters if that's all you're going for...

I had to work and didn't find out they were back out until about 7:00, so I ran over there and a leader went to the back and found me one and told me I was lucky to get the last tray...

My friend told me they are also selling them at The Emporium in MK, so try there!

When I got there the guy in the front manning the trading box told me to hurry because there are only about 10 trays left. A few people ahead of me got some. I don't know if that is their entire stock or they are getting more tomorrow. Sorry I forgot to ask. There was a line behind me. Couldn't check the park because it's already closed.

The worker I talked to at Dstreet said he wasn't sure if they'll be getting any more any time soon. He said the 10 cases (by your time 4 or 5 left) was it for now, and that he was betting they'd be gone by tomorrow night. Things might have changed though or he was saying that to pull me into buying more haha. Let's hope that he wasn't right and that the restock keeps coming. I ended up getting 4 blind boxes and got doubles, but ended up trading for some I didn't have. I just need 3 more to complete the set haha.

I drove up today and was able to get a case for myself. I went into DLR around 330pm and checked Star Traders, Westward Ho and Disneyana and each store did not have them. I could only spot them in WOD and D-Street, so I figure those are the only two spots (didn't check DCA) in DLR that you could purchase them. So glad that I had today off and could run up there. Now, time for Top Ramen for the next week until I get paid.

I'm a huge star wars and vinylmation fan and missed out on the first release. Talked to one of the workers and he said he doesn't have an idea on when the next shipment is...

But I'm assuming once their warehouse gets organized... they'll be getting more than 10 cases.

Hey everyone, I lost some items at D-Street earlier tonight. Hoping someone may have found them.

I arrived at D-Street around 6-7ish earlier tonight and stuck around for a bit. There were a couple of traders outside and I stopped to look at some of their vinyls. Also took a quick trip to the World of Disney Store but then went back to D-Street right away. I left around 8:30pm.

Sometime during this, I misplaced my D-Street shopping bag with 2 Stormtroopers inside. There should be a receipt in there as well (my AP discount was used).

If anyone has found my vinyls, I would really appreciate it. I'm a little bummed out b/c I was somewhat hesitant to purchase some vinyls tonight anyway (starving college student). I know this is wishful thinking but I thought I'd try anyway. Thanks everyone

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully someone on here found it and gives it back but I'm afraid it will be nearly impossible you would get them back. I would try going back and asking the same traders, if you remember how they look like. Hopefully they are honest enough to give it back if they did find it. I saw at least one guy I see there all the time. I left around the same time and I was looking to trade but all the traders were packing up their stuff. So I didn't even approach them. Sorry again. I really hope you find it. Good luck.

Not me. I got there at the very end, but one trader told me that he only saw one person get a ghost Obi. She bought 5 blind boxes and 1 was the Ghost Obi.

Talked to a friend who requested holding a case till this morning because an ATM didn't spit out money for her. Luckily they held their word and she went in and got the case . She also confirmed that even the blind boxes have been sold out.

I guess she's the last buyer of the first shipment.... secretly... hahaha

They are producing much more this round to keep up with demand, and I think they still plan on them being around for a while.

Once again, per Donald Ferro, the production numbers have not changed from the initial order. These deliveries were planned from day one of the series. There has been no increase in the numbers. Yes, they are back in stock for now, and it seems likely that not all of the shipment has been made available in stores, but there was no extra production.

For new news:

Per Silvered, who has been scouting WDW today, Star Wars Series 1 vinyls are already hard to come by. There are none to be had in MK or Epcot, and per her last report, Studios was down to just two stores.

So, here's the gist of what I heard from Cast Members today. They got a very small shipment in. Villains in Vogue got a single case of trays. Now, this could mean that they are just rationing and only letting a few cases out of the warehouse at a time. But I highly doubt that's the case as I was talking to a cast member in Tattoine Traders who clearly knew his stuff about vinyls and he said that once they're out, they're out.

I only saw blind boxes out at Villains in Vogue and Tattoine Traders. They are keeping the trays in the back so you have to ask for them, though I think TT is out of complete trays.

Good luck on mail order guys! I hope they held some for you!

He/she actually mean how many 24-vinyl trays are in a case; as in, when the store receives a case of trays, how many is that. I have no idea, but I thought I'd help clarify.

I would assume based on the size of the tray and the size of your average commercial shipping box, we're probably talking 4 or 5 trays per case, no more than 6. Total guess though, I've never seen them unpack a case of trays.

I can maybe see buying one extra case and saving it for a few years down the road and then selling it or using it for big trades... But that just sucks. At this rate id be happy to order the case via the phone line and miss out on my 20% AP discount in the park and minus shipping, as long as i can actually get the case in my hands..

Anyone ever have any luck with the shops holding a box say for a few hours? aka the amount of time it takes for me to get to DLR from Las Vegas? :) Or, say, if you could prepay for it over the phone and then have them re-ring it when you get to the park to avoid the shipping fees and apply 20% AP?

I don't have the number on me but all you do is tell them what you want to purchase and how many you want to purchase. They will take all of your information like your credit card information, you billing, and mailing information. But it sounds like the star wars vinyls won't be available for phone orders for a few more days.

Just called the parks Merch line and A young lady said they had them and I placed my order! I'll let you know how this pans out...price came out to just over 311$... They accepted my annual pass and just need a copy of it faxed to them before they charge me...

Not sure why the shipping and handling was so much (80ish) but I think I can live if that's the case thAt I actually get one...

I know this answer for in the parks there is no merchandise DVC discount. I ask ALL the time. I would assume this goes for the merchandise line also.

Yeah see, I asked the costumer service representative and she put me on hold while she went to find out. She said they were being shipped out of Florida for everyone, no exception. She also stated that the shipping was a flat $34.99 because of the size and weight, not the distance. She said that whoever is paying $80 for shipping is either calling the wrong number or being lied to. She said WDW is def NOT charging $80 for shipping.
SO I don't know what is actually going on lol. If you got charged $80, I would call ASAP.

My brother bought my first case when it was first released at WDW and he got to open them all up, and he kept my second set.

Although I will be excited if my case contains a Ghost Obi but I won't be disappointed if I don't. Also I'm hoping if AlLotus gets 2 Ghost Obi, then NiccyT will trade the extra for my extra Halloween 11 vinyl :rofl:

Its the courier service they use - my shipping to Canada was quoted at $125 - needless to say, going to pray there are some when I get there on the 15th!

As of 7:00 pm today, there were still trays available at DLR D-street and World of Disney. Also strangely, no trays inside Disneyland Park. Bought 4 more blind boxes and pulled Leia, Lando, Boba, and Vader.

Tried one last time to reduce my shipping fee cause I'm a cheapo... No dice... Their shipping sucks and it doesn't make sense.. I'm in a fairly major city with a shipping hub here, and it's 80 bucks. Like baddog, I tried to local pickup but they said nay on that. If this wasnt selling like hotcakes ( or limited edition princess dolls) then I'd have canceled already. But I need my star wars :/

How many cases or boxes are they planning on releasing? and how many did they do the last few times they released star wars? just wondering how rare they are? also is there a series 2 coming out and is there a thread to follow that. thanks

According to the mail order line, each shipment was 30,000 blind boxes, or 1250 cases. I don't know how many shipments there are total, but apparently another is on the way.

As far as series 2, yes it's coming, and yes there is a thread. You can do a search for it :)

It is one of the few vinyls for which owning multiples makes sense. Who doesn't want a stormtrooper army? Plus I like the idea posted earlier of switching heads with Luke and han :lol:

Honestly, this question has come up repeatedly with each rerelease, and I can't think of any blind-boxed sets in the parks that have gone through price changes mid-series.

I balked when the lady told me my total ($50 for 4 blind bloxes) buuut everyone on here is right - it IS Star Wars.

Now I had a question. The lady gave me an order number, but it doesn't seem to work on ds.com. Do I have to call to get a status of my order? I'm really just curious and I know it hasn't shipped yet probably, so I don't want to call just to pester them. Is there a way to check online?

I'm pretty sure she didn't ask for an email address and ds.com does, that's another weird thing.

I don't know if you can track your order any other way. The order number is most likely just for reference, or in case something goes wrong with the order. I'm sure you could call to check up on it, but it probably won't ship for a little while (thousands of orders have been placed.....)

So the Mrs had an idea to call up and place an order and see if shipping changed ... It totally did. The lovely lady I talked to hushed her voice down and explained what happened: the shipping from Disneyland is more expensive than out of DisneyWorld.. The first cm I worked with just said oh it's closer to las Vegas so I'll ship from Anaheim, the gal I talked to today was very familiar with the system and she said she does her best to find the right prices for her guests... And coming out of DW it's flat whereas DLR is based on weight and cost of the item.

She looked at my order to cancel and replace it, but it had already been shipped :o she said when I receive it to explain the story to a supervisor and go into detail about the two before that wouldn't take the time to find me the best price...

It will cost you probably another $40 in shipping for them - remember that! (shipping is based on the VALUE not the weight when you order directly from the parks - that is why is can be double or triple or MORE than ordering from DS.com).
