Just went to Disney for the first time, and OMG to see Cinderella's Castle was unreal!
Did anyone feel the same way??

Can't say really, my first time was 3 years old. I go back every year and have been for 20 years now and I still feel the same way as I did the year before

I go 2 times a year and each time it brings tears to my eyes. I am always so grateful each time I get to go back. I had been 2 before age 8 but it was not until 2007 that I got to go back as an adult at xmas and WOW! Xmas in WDW takes my breath away. The castle is most beautiful that time of year in my opinion. For me it NEVER gets old!

I agree! I thought the giant cake was a clever way to celebrate the 25th Anniversary.

It reminds me of a bad 80's acid wash pair of jeans!! Clever Idea yes poor execution double yes! That is just my opinion and I am just saying!

It was! And very unique. And partially sentimental since my grandmother and I had matching statues of it (which I now have both since I got it after she passed)

It was a cute and clever thing but I think the hate stems from the castle staying that way so long. If I recall correctly, it was more than a year. Sometimes you miss the classic castle.

Sometimes you miss the classic castle.

I think it's also all the people who come to WDW for the first time or even their only time (yes, unlike most of us here, for some it truly is a once in a lifetime trip - they're missing out!). Isn't the castle one of the most photographed things in the world? (I read that somewhere) So people have this vision of what they're going to see and they build it up in their head, and then they see the cake castle instead. They want to take their picture in front of THE Cinderella Castle. It's an unfortunate fact, but I think you just can't mess with the castle very much on behalf of all those who will only see it once for a very long time. That was why the lights they install now for Christmas are so great - they blend in well during the day so you can still get your classic castle photo in the daytime, and get the Christmas magic photo at night.

Every time we go the castle takes my breath away, we must have like 10000000 photos of it, every time I take a new snap my husband asks REALLY............?

The first time I saw the castle was in 2000 when I was in sixth grade. I still get just as excited to see it now :)

I will say that I'm in my 20's and no matter how many times I've seen that castle, EVERY time I walk down Main Street on the first day of my vacations, tears start falling down my cheeks after I've caught a glimpse of the castle. Makes me feel like a child each time! I just adore it! *swoon*
