Just wondering which parks have paper cards instead of actual plastic cards?
I used to have Disneyland, Universal Hollywood, and Sea World San Diego Annual Passes and they all used to be plastic. I stopped getting them for a few years and now I've bought a pass for SW SD and it is a paper card. My friend said he just bought a Universal pass and it too is paper. I am not sure about Disney, but i'm wondering which parks still offer plastic cards. Also, feel free to mention how it felt when you got a paper annual pass if you've recently got one. It is so weird, I worry I'll lose it!

Universal is a paper pass. I miss the plastic ones since it felt more legitimate. Now itfeels like a one dayticket.
To prevent duplication or fake passes, they link each pass with your fingerprint which makes me wonder completely, why not just get rid ofthe paper and use your finger as a way to track who's a pass holder and who's not.
Disney still uses plastic cards which is nice. If you even to buy your tickets at a store and not the main ticket booths, you can get a plastic one day ticket whihc I think is cool

I dont know if the universal machines are similar to the disney ones, but I know the disney ones can never read my pointer finger (I guess it's too small or something) so it's definitely not the most reliable machine.

I have APs to Universal, WDW, and SeaWorld and all of mine are paper. The Disney ones seem the most durable though.

WDW only does the plastic cards if you get a Magic Your Way ticket that's linked to your Disney resort. If you just get a regular ticket, it's made of that weird paper/laminate combo. Personally, I miss the "hard" tickets, but I can understand why they've made the switch to paper - it's a lot easier and cheaper to print out a new AP on paper if you lose yours.

Haha, I have an annual pass to Busch Gardens, but since I've had it for about 6 years (at least) I have plastic & a picture of an attraction thats not even there anymore.
My universal one is paper, still need to get there to use it.

AHH thats the one I've got. We just keep paying for it like two years at a time, so havent gotten a new one. The last time I went, that was certainly interesting going to park. I dont think it worked in the scanner

oh wow! so it seems like the ONLY place still doing it is Disneyland in California.
I agree that the paper tickets are very cheap, it doesn't encourage me to drop a lot of money on a pass that is gonna be inconvenient to carry around.
So what do you guys do to keep your cards from getting ruined??

For my Universal Studios Hollywood paper pass, I often just take it out of my wallet and keep it at home when i definitely know I wont be using it.

I keep my sea world pass behind my Disneyland pass in my wallet. The plastic keeps the paper one protected

My wife and I have AP to Disney World, Universal, Sea World and Bush Gardens and they are all paper. I remember way back then when Disney had the plastic w/ the picture of the AP holder. That was nice but later on I found out that you can easily change the piciture, lol.

I don't mind the paper ones so much, I just wish they differentiate you more than a regular park guest. Maybe like different colors based on the pass you buy or one that says Annual Pass Holder real big on the front or something.

I had an AP to Universal Orlando. I did not like it because the bar code would wear off from just sitting in my wallet. If it wouldn't read at the turnstiles, then they would send me to the long line at Guest Relations to print a new one. That happened three times in one year.....one of the many reasons I no longer go to that other park. :P

Just got my pass last week. Paper = more of a chance it will get damaged.
That fingerprint delay is enough of a pain

I think they all went to paper at least in Orlando. I remember the days of my ole plastic annual pass with my oval picture hard laminated to it. I think that paper is more eco friendly but not good for those that go all the time.

I got my WDW Annual Pass last summer, and it was paper...very frustrated with that. I was hoping for a more personalized and permanent type of card (plastic). It looks just like the regular park hopper ticket.
