Ok, so I know there is a favorite restaurant thread, but I want to know your favorite dining options for table service, quick service, and snack! So choose 3 total! This poll will really help make it quick and easy for me and future travelers to make reservations to this park with having little or no knowledge about it! This will be my first time going here so I can't wait to get suggestions for my dining plan! Thanks guys!

Also, I'm interested in maybe eating at Rainforest Cafe here, but want to make sure it is at least as good as the one in DTD or better.. can someone please let me know if they think it is? If not, I don't want to waste the experience!

I would assume that a Rainforest Cafe is going to be the same anywhere you go as it's a major chain. I picked Restaurantosaurus as once again, amazing pickles and I'm very easy to please with disney fast food. Just give me chicken fingers and I'm happy. Hahaha

My favorite place to eat in AK is the Flame Tree BBQ. We have lunch there just about every time we go to WDW.
Have a reservation for Yak and Yeti on our next trip next month. After dining there, my favorite place could change.

The wife and I ate at Yak and Yeti a few years back. Not too much on it, but that's just our opinion. Personally, the Tusker House dinner buffet was waaaayyyyy better.

I've not had breakfast at Boma, but I would highly recommend going there for dinner. Best buffet on property IMHO.

My response:
We tend to not spend a full day here and we tend to graze a little in this park, so our dining has been limited
Not sure about shacks here, I usually get a Mickey Ice Cream bar, I think;
Flame Tree BBQ is good
Rainforest is Rainforest, but in my limited experience we've liked this location more. If crowded, don't be afraid to eat in the bar, the service is excellent. We've been very happy splitting a combo appetizer platter and a volcano cake amongst four adults, but we tend to graze while in this park so we usually aren't looking for a full meal. AK Lodge, with Boma and Jiko is a great option...and I've heard Saana (sp?) at Kidani Village is great and overlooks the savannah, but haven't eaten there yet. Boma is more authentic and less expensive, and as a buffet really works...we pretty much eat here every trip to WDW. We ate at Jiko for the first time last trip and ate at the counter watching them prep appetizers. Great place to sit, we split a salad, flatbreat, steak and dessert and were very satisfied.

Sorry, I haven't eaten at Rainforest to help there, and I've only had dinner at Boma, not breakfast.
But if you're looking in AK, Tusker House is great. We've had both dinner and breakfast there, and it's two completely different atmospheres, but both great for different purposes. The breakfast has characters, so obviously it's a little loud and party-like. But the staff is great and there's lots of character interaction, and the buffet has good variety. The dinner was even better, in my opinion. The buffet has a good mix of African flavors and some homestyle for those not looking for African flavors. It's very meat and potatoes, which is my DH all the way! And we usually book the last available reservation slot, which is just before park closing. We then eat a relaxed meal, and wander out of the park, happy and full. And it's beautiful. There's no one else in the park and you can stroll and take photos as you go. It's so quiet and peaceful, it's just an added bonus after the meal.
For quick service we really like the Yak & Yeti counter service. Good size portions and not the standard pizza and burgers. My DH LOVES the honey chicken! There's a couple of really nice small tables by the river just across the walkway from the cashiers there - but it really is only a couple of tables, so they fill up quickly. We often eat when it first opens.
I can't believe that Flame Tree isn't blowing everything out of the water...

I guess I'm the only one that liked Picnic in the Park...I couldnt decide between Yak and Yeti and Tusker House, so I chose both. (Donald's Safari Breakfast anyone?)

Is none of the above an option? I personally think the dining at Animal Kingdom is slim pickings.

I've eaten at both Tusker House and Yak & Yeti and my vote goes to the Yak & Yeti. We went to Tusker House for lunch and got there right about opening time, didn't have a reservation and only had to wait about 20 minutes (not bad). The food was cold and I wasn't really blown away by anything. Tried Yak & Yeti the next year, got a seat on the second floor overlooking the park and it was fun watching all the people coming off the Kali River Rapids soaked to the bone :). I think their food was superior to Tusker House!! And whoever mentioned it above is spot on, they're fried green beans are AWESOME!!!
I've never tried a quick service in the park though, just some of the snack carts.

I have to agree! We ate at Tusker House once, and we will not be going back. We didn't care for it at all. :( I have yet to try Yak & Yeti. Sounds like fun!
Our favorite place is the Flame Tree BBQ. :yum: Only thing about it is I really can't stand the ducks that practically attack you in the eating area...haha! They scare me!
