Thanks for sharing that! It's cool to see behind the scenes production. I'd love to see them making the vinylmation :)
I haven't ventured into other Disney vinyl yet, but I do collect Dunny, Buff monster, and some other random vinyl.

Where in the world do you buy the Stitch figures????
There are a few sites where you can purchase these stitch 626 figures, most sites have the Angry Woebots version sold out, but you could always buy all six that come together. They are being released this month:

Yeppers, They do! They make a huge line of vinyls, I started downloading them last night and have like 30+ images, but there are probably like over 60 or so, its going to take me some time on these to get up here but I am working on them.

Just saw this on Mindstyle blog. http://www.mindstyle.com/blog/
“The Black Hole” is Disney’s 1979 science fiction film about a group of space travelers who come across a long missing spaceship teetering on the edge of a black hole, and their discoveries within the ship and beyond… the vast, empty nothingness where space and time end. Anything that crosses its border enters a universe of the complete unknown. And so begins a story that only Disney’s film magicians could tell. A story of robots and humanoids. Of human genius and madness. And a spectacular descent into nature’s ultimate mystery - The Black Hole.
http://www.mindstyle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/blog-2.jpg
“The Black Hole” was the Walt Disney Company’s first PG-rated production — big news 30 years ago, but times have changed! Directed by Gary Nelson and starred Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Robert Forster, Joseph Bottoms, Yvette Mimieux, and last but not least, Ernest Borgnine the motion picture has found a loyal fan base. With this being the 30th anniversary of The Black Hole and only rare limited merchandise available, we were all too excited to be working on a limited edition art toy collectibles (ATC) figure of V.I.N.CENT for collectors.
Everything starts with the concept art. Since there was little content for us to reference, we created the line art with DCP. The process got under way with the sculpting and raw resins as shown here.

I wonder if this will be a vinyl? The blog doesn't really say too much about it except that it will be an Art Toy Collectible (ATC) which probably means it will not be a vinyl, although maybe they just forgot to put the word "Vinyl" in there. We shall see...I would love to see a blank on this one...I haven't seen that movie in such a long time...
Although, I did read a bit further down on the blog, and saw that they will definitely be creating a vinly chernabog
When Bad Is Good… Disney Villains
Quote of the Day
“In this volatile business of ours, we can ill afford to rest on our laurels, even to pause in retrospect. Times and conditions change so rapidly that we must keep our aim constantly focused on the future.”
- Walt Disney
Chernabog is king of the darkness and no human dares walk the night while he’s abroad!
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/2924/chernabog1.jpg
It’s said that Chernabog is never gone, he merely waits for the coming of another night, and the chance to continue the eternal battle between light and dark, so… we saw it only fitting for our (McG) MINDstyle Creative Group to create a limited edition vinyl art toy collectibles (ATC) figure from the Disney animated classic “Fantasia.” Here are behind the scenes notes and comments of the work in progress with more updates to follow.
http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/3531/chernabog2.jpg
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/2232/chernabog3.jpg
That Chernabog looks great! I want the WDCC Chernabog, but he's out of my price range. Hopefully this will be a cheaper alternative.

I hate to say it, but you maybe SOL (Cannot say out loud here ). The series 1 have been limited to only 500 and they have been selling them online at these locations for some time:
http://www.toytokyo.com
http://www.vinylfallout.com
http://www.alwaysseengallery.com/
Many of the individual ones have already sold out, and I know there are some places still selling all 6, but it doesn't sound like you are looking for all six. Your best bet maybe ebay especially with the limited edition of 500...I don't think they have started shipping these out yet as I haven't received mine so still waiting...
P.S. I also searched mindstyle's website and all their retailers to see if someone still had them, but had no luck there either.

I have the Mickey Smashing the guitar one...it's actually paying homage to very important punk rock band THE CLASH; specifically the London Calling LP artwork. The box art really seals the tribute with the lettering and font color. Ironically the clash font/lettering was a tribute to an Elvis album...the more you know... :)

Some may be wondering why I have not updated the original post or second post with some of these other Disney vinyl figurines which pictures have been posted. The reason I have not included some of these vinyl figurines is because they are future releases and have not been released to the public yet. Once these figures are released to the public I will include them in the original posts. Release dates and vinyl figures are always subject to change as we have seen with Vinylmation releases and therefore I would hate to have pictures posted of a vinyl figure and see a company decide to change the design or not release the vinyl figure at all.
FYI, From a previous post looks like that V.I.N.Cent one from The Black Hole will be a vinyl figure, Mindstyle had another post the next day regarding it so looking forward to seeing that.

Hey Buzzedlightyear, Was hoping you could elaborate more on why its so hard to follow the pictures I have posted? The very first post has listed bullets of the vinyls you could find on the first post, and then I have created a second post because there is a limitation of 10,000 characters. This was something I was attempting to put together so people could see other Disney vinyl's outside of Vinylmation, and there are more I still need to post. I cannot speak for Sledge, but it would definitely be a lot of work for him to keep up with the other non-vinylmation Disney vinyls that are produced out there. I was also going to create hyperlinks in the first post so that you could go right to the area you are interested in looking at. Initially, I was playing around with html and creating tables on this site, but I think that Sledge has shut off that functionality, which would have allowed me to layout things a little better. Hopefully, You can provide some more feedback as what you would like to see...
There have been a few posts where people have shown images of upcoming vinyl's but because they have not been released I have not included them in those two posts.

Ahh Here's my line of reasoning. There is a lot of imagery on teh front page, and the hobby is relatively new. It was just a suggestion to help keep track kind of like every time someone posts a custom..he also updates it in the gallery. I don't expect Sledge to keep tabs on the whole vinyl scene.
After a while the images kind of run together, but I think it's a very valuable asset. I'm a big vinyl collector, and thrilled that more people are being exposed to the hobby. Since this is THE Disney vinyl fan site, it seems like it'd be a great asset for everyone not just people that find this thread.

Yeah, There is definitely a lot of imagery on the first page with lots more to come, because as you know the vinyl scene is huge and even only choosing the Disney Vinyl's that have been produced is pretty large. I haven't even posted anything from Tomy, or any of the one-of-a-kind cheshire cats from the We're All Mad Here opening (http://www.vinylpulse.com/2006/10/seen_were_all_m.html), and there are still some smaller companies that are not around that produced Disney vinyls...
I definitely don't disagree that it would be great to have a seperate page like the custom's page that Sledge has put together, and currently there are only a handful of custom's out there. Comparing the handful of Vinylmation customs to the hundreds of other Disney vinyls the page would still be pretty large with lots of pictures. Personally, I would want to see something where you could keep similar brands, characters, etc together. Whether it was keeping all mindstyle together, or keeping cheshire cat together, etc. For example, I love the cheshire cat's collection from Span of Sunset and I have found it a bear to search the internet to find out which Cheshire Cat Vinyl's have been released. Looking on Span of Sunset website, They only list like 13 or so (some you cannot see because sold out, but you can search), which mean't I had to do lots of searching throughout the internet to find customs or one of a kinds both domestically and internationally. Another reason I would want all the Cheshire Cats together is because I think of it more like a database where I can checkoff all the characters I have collected, and the characters I still want to collect. Hopefully, Others can provide feedback also to the layout they would want to see...
Sledge, If you need any help with this please let me know I am available to help anyway I can.
Buzzedlightyear
06-29-2009, 04:55 PM
Totally agree...there is no database or source especially with the Cheshire's. I appreciate that you gathered them all together. I like the way pinpics has a database for pin collector's. Not saying this should happen ASAP, but it's a nice feature.

I'm trying to find a place I can buy the Medicom Disney Vinyls? At DisneyStore.com they have a few, but when I ordered one, on the box it shows others available. I have gone on a few sites, including a few listed in this thread, but none of them have to two I am interested in: Fantasia & Mickey's Rival.
If anyone knows where I can find these for a decent price please let me know.

Those two maybe difficult to find because the Mickey's Rival firgurine was created in 2002 and the Fantasia figure was created in 2003. Unfortunatley, Some of the first figures that came out from Medicom go for some big $$$, but you maybe able to find a deal at some point on ebay or just search around the internet a bit. Also, Many of these figures are hard to come by inside the USA, typically some of the older figures can still be found overseas.
Sideshow has put up the Medicom Mickey as Jack Sparrow and Dino Mickey up for pre-order.
They also put up the pre-orders for Hot Toys first 2 Vinyl figures they are Carl and Russell from Up.

Honestly, Most of the one off vinyls I found I don't even remember what site I pulled the pictures from. Some of the pictures may not even be from the designer/manufacturer that is listed and instead was pulled from a Vinyl news site. I would recommend doing a google search for "Organic's Modern Pets Mickey" or "Organic's Modern Pets Minnie"....OR even take out the mickey and minnie and just replace it with Disney. You should be able to pull up quite a few sites and if I remember they where not that expensive either...
Most of the companies listed within this thread are the actual designers/manufacturers who created the vinyl figurine, unfortunatley there are not a lot that sell them, so you have to go through a retailer or third party.

Mindstyle does a great job with many of their vinyl collectibles, but I also just wanted to add to what Mouseman74 said, although these are being produced by Mindstyle the artists who created these are:
Buff Monster
Angry Woebots
Kano
Peekaboo
Ron English
There where larger "Do-It-Yourself" versions of these stitches sent to specific artist, and those six designs you saw where chosen as the first series produced by Mindstyle.

Medicom toy company will be coming out with a "Mickey Mouse meets The Pumpkin King" vinyl figuring next year around April 2010. I had to translate some of the Japanese on their website through an online translator to get the date. Its kind of funny we just had a Vinylmation Jack Skellington. Here are some pics:

I like these Mickey's dressed as other Disney characters Medicom has started making. The Classic Monster ones are great too.

Where can you get these? I want the Little Mermaid!!
Before the old site went down we use to have a nice thread of other Disney vinyls, so I decided to put this post back up since many liked looking at the pictures out there. I will update the first post as much as possible with other Disney vinyls so people don't have to search through the entire thread to find others. Also, I already went over the 10,000 character limit for the first post so I had to start a second page. Instead of having to search through the entire thread to see pictures, you can click on the bolded text below for page 2 (hyperlink embedded), I will continue putting pages together in this format so its easy for everybody to find the pictures. There is also a summarized index list of vinyls that are contained within each page. Happy viewing!!!

Since the inception of Vinylmations last December, There are many folks who are new to the Vinyl Collectible Doll (VCD) scene and unfortunatley for many that have just started collecting many of the Disney VCDs where released many years ago. You maybe able to find a deal for them somewhere but they are pretty difficult to find and typically have a premium setup on them. For example, The Little Mermaid and Alice In Wonderland may fetch $200+ depending on where you look. One thing that has been occurring recently has been these Disney VCDs being reissued, since they where never Limited Edition in the first place. Plus, Many of the Medicom VCD's you have asked about where only for retail sale in Japan initially...So, Hopefully they will be reissued over here at some point
Where can you get these? I want the Little Mermaid!!
Release Date: August 2002

Release Date: June 2002
NOTE: I may update all the pictures with the actual release date for many of these items, but that will take some time to do.
There will be a Holiday Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Cosbaby set released by Hot Toys.

Well, For those who don't know who "Mindstyle" is or have not collected any "Mindstyle" figures in the past, I think your about to be introduced or know something about them this year. Mindstyle has created a distribution agreement with Sideshow Collectibles where their different collectible toys will be sold. Mindstyle produces some pretty cool products, if you look through some of the pictures on this post (FYI, Start at Post #1). They are also a little more pricey than our Vinylmation counterparts and can usually run from about $75-$150 for a 5"-9" vinyl. It's definitely a pick-and-choose unless you have pretty deep pockets, but I hope everybody at least enjoys the post and what's to come. Here is more information regarding their alliance:
http://www.mindstyle.com/blog/?p=2008
They have a few new Art Collectible Toys (ATC) being released this year including
BasixBeans
BasixBeanz are the new collectible mini figure series designed and produced by MINDstyle. The name derived from taking the basic shape of a bean that is often referenced when drawing freehand a character body. The figure is a simplified platform that serves as a canvas to artistic and character based designs launching in Spring 2010
Vinyl Fab
With the recent announcement of our factory, a new distribution deal with Sideshow Collectibles, BasixBeanz – a new collectible mini figure series, we are pleased to announce our latest collectible figures, VINYL FAB. The vinyl, fabric and plush material combine to create a new collectible product category for our MINDstyle LIFEstyle brand. The Vinyl Fab figures head, hands and feet are made of vinyl with the body, arms, legs and clothing made of fabric and plush.
More information and products will be available some time during 2010, so I am interested to see how these look especially the Vinyl Fab to see if they are similar to Pook-A-Looz.
Mindstyle has also collaborated with other companies who create cartoon series that we all love, and have discussed in few non-disney threads on this forum. Although, I created this thread initially for "Other Disney Vinyl Figures" created by other companies outside of Disney, I have decided to include these other non-Disney vinyls here for everybody to see. These are directly from Mindstyle's blog (http://www.mindstyle.com/blog/):
IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES
In late fall 2010, Disney Toys and MINDstyle will partner for yet another Art Toy Collectible (ATC) project called, “100 Acres Artists” Project. Give one hundred different global artists and designers the opportunity to create their own art based on Pooh and his friends. Imagine the possibilities!!!
John Lasseter, Academy Award-winning animator, director, and the chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, has announced a fresh, new take on A.A. Milne’s children’s classic “Winnie the Pooh” for slated for release in 2011. It has been 35 years since Disney produced a feature film starring “Winnie the Pooh” characters, so this is a welcomed treat for all ages!

TWENTY TEN
Welcome to a new decade! In continuing with our updates and announcements, what would July be without marking your calendar dates for the grand daddy of all pop culture events? Look for new Disney releases as we celebrate at San Diego Comic Tron with special edition Tron art toy collectible (ATC) figures.
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/746/tronlogo2.jpg
ON THE EDGE OF A BLACK HOLE
Cult of darkness. For years, groups of fans kept a flame of passion alive for the Disney sci-fi, The Black Hole, a modern retelling of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Following the successful ATC release of V.I.N.CENT, MINDstyle is back in the workshop manufacturing and producing another limited edition collectible figure for release in 2010.

INSPIRED BY TIM BURTON'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND
The Mad Hatter Project showcases a select group of artists to reinterpret the characters inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. MINDstyle and Disney are proud to team up with an amazing “A List” of artists featuring the creative visions of Gary Baseman, Ron English, Michael Lau and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda. This special Disney project definitely will stretch the limits of imagination by allowing the artists to interpret their favorite character inspired by the creative magic of director Tim Burton with new art toy collectible (ATC) figures developed and produced by MINDstyle. (NOTE: There have been other blog entries about this on Mindstyle's website, so you will have to look around a bit for them)

WHAT'S UP DOC?
Twas’ the night before Christmas and what will Santa bring? MINDstyle and Looney Tunes to collaborate… Popular characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Sylvester, Tweety, Marvin the Martian, Taz, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner, Foghorn Leghorn, Yosemite Sam, Pepé Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, and many others are now part of the Art Toy Collectible (ATC) figures being developed and produced by MINDstyle and distributed as part of the new Sideshow Collectibles distribution deal.

ROCKET TO THE FUTURE, ROCKET TO THE MOON...
The classic animated family sitcom projecting contemporary American culture and lifestyle into another time period are now vinyl figures being produced as part of the Art Toy Collectibles (ATC) line by MINDstyle with a soon to be announced artist collaboration. While the Flintstones live in a world with machines powered by birds and dinosaurs, the Jetsons live in a futuristic utopia in the year 2062 of elaborate robotic contraptions, aliens, holograms, and whimsical inventions.
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/5998/thejetsonsm.jpg
YABBA DABBA DOO
The Flintstones is about a working class Stone Age man’s life with his family and his next door neighbor and best friend. Now the popular animated series of characters are part of the Art Toy Collectibles (ATC) line being manufactured and produced by MINDstyle with an exciting artist collaboration to be announced.

Thanks JEP, I know the two Bloc28 Mickey and Jiminy Cricket was available as a pre-order during the D23 Expo if people where not aware, you just had to order them at the Mindstyle booth. Also, Another website "Vinyl Fallout" had most of the D23 Mindstyle vinyls up for sale, so I am surprised there where some still available for Sideshow toy, especially the two Bloc 28 vinyls. I am anxiously waiting for one of the Bloc28, Jiminy Cricket and Chernabog vinyls...
P.S. I would recommend getting the Jiminy Cricket through "Sideshow Toy" because its about $40 cheaper for some reason than "Vinyl Fallout". Good look to all who decide to collect Mindstyle, They have some really cool products but a little pricier than our Vinylmation, but I still love them :)

I hadn't seen anybody post these yet. they have been out for some time from Dark horse Comics, and feature the Gremlin's characters from the Disney/Roald Dahl collab in the 40's. It's a brilliant set and only $34.99 from things from another world.
..and I also just picked up "The ring edition" cheshire which isn't listed on the 2nd page with the others.

The pook-a-looz registered domain name is affiliated to this forum and website, but its not the same company who is physically manufacturing the pook-a-looz. They are completely seperate entity all together, and I haven't seen anything about when their products are going to be released. I believe originally their plan was to release within Toys R Us stores, but I am only going from memory here.

OOOOh I hope these come out good. I collected those Jim Henson City Critters from MINDstyle a long time ago and was disapointed a little with the paint and the lack of information present on the website of where I could buy them. Since then though, the quality of their figures has vastly improved. The information regarding where to buy their products still is sub-par, but if these are as good as their line of Stitch toys and Mechtorians then I will be happy.
