That does look pretty cool. I like how they used Jr's for the wasabi and ginger LOL. I can't see myself picking up a set tho. It really just looks cool to look at but not actually own (for me at least). Kinda like the billiards set.

Looks killer, especially since I LOVE sushi! I imagine that it will be $100 easy though...that one will be tough to decide on, but knowing us there is a good shot.

This is a very creative set, so I'm glad to see it coming out. I'm not a big fan of sushi, but I am seriously considering picking one of these up... provided they aren't too overpriced.

It seems like we've been teased with this set forever! It's nice to finally see it revealed.
I love the look of it - the bento box packaging, the Jr.'s as the condiments, the included chop sticks (looks like they say "Vinylmation" down the side). If it's priced to move, I might be interested.
Suddenly I have a hankering for some unagi ....

Man, with sushi being one of my all-time favorites, I gotta plunk down the money for this set. Love the jr.'s too, usually not a big fan.
I love sushi. I'm so glad they decided to make wasabi and ginger into Jr's. This set is awesome! Can't wait for it to be released!

this will definitely be north of $150. it's pretty awesome, but its going to sit on the shelves just like billiards. the stores can't give that set away, and that one was awesome looking. the trick to selling things is keeping the price low. would have been better to break this set into like 4 small bento boxes to sell separately instead!

With the number of vinyls, sure, it's not that bad. But like the condiments, I'm sure there'll be a huge dropoff of interest, especially at that kind of price tag. Yeesh. $100.
Guess we'll play the waiting game :)

It's 99 euros not 99 dollars which is $140 american dollars that I spent on this set x 4 lol. I don't care if it costs me more than what you guys will pay for it when/if it arrives here. I'm attached to it because I own a sushi bar so it's mandatory for me and my family happened to go there at the right time. For some reason this set was pulled from the shelves in Paris. Had to ask the CM's to grab them out of the back. 1 store in all of Disney Paris had them. Wonder why this set is not being marketed like others?

I don't think it'll be because of the price tag but more so because of the edition size. Didn't we find out it's a size of 2500? :yikes:

When it's an edition size of 1000 does that mean it's just between DLR and WDW? Or are they split among all the resorts?

So they're LE 1000? Still going to be around a while.
Yes it does with some going to DLRP. And haven't the locals to DLRP said that the prices of the vinyls are the same that we pay but just in euros? ex: $12.95 verses 12.95 euros?

no, I was asking if those case of 9"being 1000 limited. Are those exclusive to the US. Euros are way stronger than the Dollar. .70/1 So if they pay !2.95 then it's 15.95 for us

All limited editions are world wide so if Park 6 is a LE OF 1000 then it is split b/w the U.S, Paris and any other Disney park in the world

No, same goes as I said in my last post.
And what? O_o That goes against what the locals to DLRP have been saying for months (and as recent as last week)
Sorry I forgot to tell you the price for the 3" : 12,95 euros (so it will be 12.95 USD).
Yes we have the same price of you guys, with one "little" difference : they keep the numbers and change the currency into euros.
So we pay a bit more than you have to pay :-(

HUh? I didn't say I don't believe you about anything. An American Tourist who goes to Paris will change currency. So if the sushi set is 99 euros it will cost $140ish US dollars for a tourist. I wasn't talking about the price when it becomes for sale here or a person who lives in Europe. I just checked. It's currently .70 against the euro. Wow so a LE vinyl is distributed worldwide locations. Didn't know that

I actually completely agree. I prefer vinyls that are park related or the least Disney related (Disney Afternoon). I don't have any desire to purchase vinyls that are themed to sushi. With that said, I do appreciate the designs and actually "like" some of them but I just won't be purchasing.
Here's the thing, when I go to Disney I go to purchase Disney specific merchandise. I like to display all of this merchandise together. Ultimately I feel like a sushi themed vinylmation won't look that great in the same room as a Haunted Mansion snowglobe.

This is a neat concept but there are other vinyl's out there that I would rather have ahead of this. If the opportunity comes up maybe, but it's doubtful. I do like the creativity behind it though. It's nice to see them flexing their creative muscles to come out with interesting pieces.

Does anybody know if this Is this a wrist band release tomorrow?
That's what I was looking to see. At this price most likely not going to give out a wristband, but then again who knows. It's a neat set and who doesn't like Sushi?

Has anyone purchased these yet? I'm thinking about asking for this for Mother's Day, and am wondering how they look in person.

Picked one up yesterday and I really like the layout and the chopsticks. Doesn't hurt to have mini Wasabi and Ginger vinyls too! Price is a bit high, IMO, and they still had quite a few ad D-Stree (DLR) yesterday evening.

Considering the LE size is 2500, it's going to be around for a WHILE! It's a great set, but at the price point, it's going to be sitting on the shelves.
Which is good for me since I want it but have to wait a bit. Space out purchases.

And hope it gets moved to the outlets. :cross:
I'll never understand the price point on the matched sets. The Condiments pack sat around forever (I think they still have it), and the Billiards set didn't exactly fly off shelves. Yes, the sets are cool, but maybe they need to reevaluate the price points.

I think the rationale is that they can charge $16.95 for special release singles so they figure if they multiple it by 6 and people will pay. And yeah, I still see the condiment packs at the park. Also, the E-ticket series in the wooden boxes. If they're going to charge that much, they really should make it smaller LE, or lower the price. Not many people will pay that except diehards. I'm almost regretting the prior sets at half off. haha
And there were Sushi sets stacked all over when I was at D-street in DLR over the weekend. They may have to clearance them by end of the year.

Sadly this set will sit, just like the Pool Set, Just like the Condiments set. I don't see the appeal for this, sure its a very cool concept but:
A. Something that should of been an LE 250 or less
B. Something that should of been released more in Asia, with only a handful here. (Im not being racist, its just proper marketing)
C. Should of been priced just a tad lower because of the lack of interest that is very obvious.
Thoughts?

You could almost justify the price if the LE were at 250 or lower.

I may have to pick this up, though it is expensive. I'm a sushi fan, but my boyfriend is a complete addict, and he's been very supportive of my VM habit, heh. I have to say though, while I love the packaging, and especially the jrs, I'm not wild about the 3 inch ones really. I might have to wait til I'm in Orlando (not that I have any trips scheduled) and take a look in person.

If anyone needed a quick update, the last trip to DLR (this past weekend), and they had plenty of the sushi boxes sitting there. No worries on running out anytime soon.

I LOVE this set but the price is a bit steep. I don't even eat sushi (I'm a vegan) but I want it!

I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. This set! I'm a huuuge sushi eater, so when I saw it i just about fell out of my chair! I will happily shell out 100.00 for it, but I'm going to try an ebay bid first. (Plus get for my first Vinyl in general) Beautiful set.

Thought I should update everyone after my visit to WDW last week. The sushi sets are no longer being sold with the red cover. The set is simply shrink wrapped and out on the floors at different locations especially at Epcot. Spoke with a manager and said that's how they been getting them.
