I have been collecting since Park 1, but up till now have had no place to display my vinyls properly, but now, after our move, and my wife letting me have the loft area to do whatever I want  , I have started working on getting my vinyls in one place for one glorious display. These are mostly my 9" collection with some special releases mixed in. I will post the 3" collection and the complete room as soon as I can get enough shelving (or shot glass cabinets) to hold them all. Still a work in progress, but I couldn't wait to show it off.

this has got to be one of the hardest parts of collecting, the display, do you take them out of the box??? OR do you showcase them in the boxes?? then how do you display them once you have them at home and my biggest thing is where the heck to put them all... I have so many now it would need a room in themselves so they are still sitting in the original boxes and just making a fort of sorts with the walls they have made, I see so many wonderful ideas but is anyone else having an issue with how to display them??? (I hope this isn't bumping your thread, it is about your display and oh by the way NICE collection and I love the way you did your display)>> thanks and hopefully you and others can give out some tips... ta ta for now...

I thought about taking the 9" figures out of the boxes, and I might still take some of them out if I get a curio cabinet somewhere down the road, but my thing with them is that I don't want to have to dust them all. Not that I'm particularly lazy about this :look: , but for some of them, I fear that too much water and wiping might damage the decals and designs. I found a great deal on the shelves at Home Depot. They were discontinued stock, so I got the whole wall of shelving for around $50. My advice would be to look for deals where you can find them, and use whatever you can to display without taking away from the pieces themselves. Thrift stores are great places to pick up bookcases and shelving cheap. For the 3" figures, I am finding that shot glass cases display a lot of figures (some of them up to 78 in a case) and don't take up a lot of space in a room. Hope this helps.

Nice display....very nice. Question....on the right side with the 4 cubes you have the stuffed yeti and the carnataurus in the center of the displays. What are the other 2 9" pieces?

To quote Eeyore, "Thanks for noticing." Those are some customs that I did. The one on the top shelf is a tribute to the American Adventure at EPCOT, and has the colonial 13-star flag as a face with the body dressed like a member of the drum core band. The lower one is the robotic butler from Horizons. If you look to the far left of the center shelves, just past the "Tiki Mouse" you will see my third custom in an acrylic case, that one is Trader Sam from the Jungle Cruise, if I take him out of the case, he can hold that umbrella in front of him as an accessory.

I got my shelving at Home Depot. They were having a sale on some discontinued kitchen cabinets. If you go there, try looking on the end-caps of the isles for yellow stickers, this is where they keep their sale stuff. It's kind of a gamble as to what you will find. I got all of this shelving at one store, and went to the one on the other side of town, and they had nothing. That would be my first step, check your building supply stores for discounts and discontinued stuff. I have also seen a lot of good shelving at thrift stores and yard sales, most of it just needs some cleaning and maybe a little paint, so that might also be a good place to look. Depending on how your town's Good Will and Salvation Army stores are priced, you might also find something there too. Hope this helps, good luck with your search.
is it bad that i looked at all of the 9" and just saw $ signs???? i'm afraid to get into those!
