Just curious...what would you pay for the blind boxed star wars chaser? I bought a case and opened every box leaving the chaser un-opened. I know it's obi-wan, but I don't know which once. I haven't opened it yet as it is kinda exciting to know its the chaser, and it could be either one. As I believe this is the first set with a variant chaser, it makes it a unique situation...

so what would you pay for it? most of the regulars are going for $40 and the ghost are going for I think $200.

I'm lost at what this thread is about? Is it to see how much to charge for it? Are you selling it? Are you excited you opened them all but the chaser? I'm lost!

On the flip side there has been reported cases out there with NO chaser. Very, very rare, but not an impossibility. So I would say that you never really know what you got until it's opened.

As far as value is concerned. I would say that it is worth less unopened than opened.

Open the darned thing :)

not sure if i'm gunna sell it....just curious as to what people think it is worth...as it is for sure a obi-wan chaser...but it could be either.

I don't think i'd pay any more then a normal blind box for it. As it's been pointed out, there have been aberations of cases without chasers, and how upset would someone be if they payed $100 and ended up getting han solo instead of Obi Wan

Open it. I don't think you would want an unhappy buyer if they don't get a chaser.

To me an unopened blind box is worth the normal price.

Open it. OPEN IT!

My sister's in California Adventure and has not found a Star Wars box yet. She hasn't tried Downtown Disney let. Let me live vicariously through you!

What collector would buy an entire case and not open the chaser? I highly doubt that you don't already know what is inside the unopened box.

Open it. With all the strange boxes people have gotten, no guarantee of anything.

I'd give you $10 if you open it and send it to me. But yeah, no 'guarantee' that it is in the box, think that'd be a hard pitch to resell to anyone.

Well I spend about 5 per week on the lottery...I have not bought any tickets in a while, so I would pay $20 for it. Hey why not gamble....right? I would have a hard time paying a lot for it due to not knowing for sure and paying more that $20 for a Star Wars blind box would bum me out...

What i want to know is how do you know what box the chaser is in??? OR did you just HAPPEN to leave it for last?

we arent allowed to talk about locations of chasers on the boards. its considered cheating and ruins the fun of it! But i mean if you open all the boxes and have one left and havent found the chaser, there's a pretty good chance the one left is it lol.

I was going to say that but I didn't want everyone to go on that topic and then get yelled at for talking about "that which shall not be talked about" so I just left it. But yes it is a secret, and I find knowing it gets me more mad when I buy boxes

Its hilarious. Behind the guise of "OOH we cant talk about that on the board!" Is something that those "in the know" hold near and dear because it gives them the edge. Its hidden behind "thats forbidden", knowing that if they tell us, they no longer have the edge. I'm not as dumb as i may seem. Its really quite annoying, actually.

Theres definitely a standard way the boxes are packed, and most of the collectors here know this, but they refuse to share their information, because then they wont have the "exclusive information" anymore. They say its cheating. I say, buying cases is cheating. I say, theyre selfish.

The reason this information is not shared on the board is not because collectors here are "selfish", it is because if that information is posted here, ANYONE who has access to the internet can read it and then hoarding of chasers will take place.

People don't refuse to share the information - it is prohibited by the creator of this forum, Sledge, from being shared. If you have an issue with that, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to discuss his reasons with you.

No disrespect meant, MrsHalloween.... and i enjoy this community very much... but its very hard to feel like youre part of something in this situation.... Its very hard not to feel very frustrated when youre spending thousands of dollars and you cant even get a hint.

This community isn't for giving hints or cheats away. I guarantee you 90% of people here have no clue where the chasers are located in a case, so in actuality, you're in the majority.

And even if you think you know where it is, some series the boxes are shuffled in the factory so there is no guarantee. But yea as mshalloween said anyone would have access to the information if it was just posted here, which I think would make coming across a chaser even harder. I already suspect someone of pulling the chaser from villains in the DS in the mall by me, which just makes it more frustrating.

yeah...i have bought a couple of cases...and the vinyls are "packed" a certain way in the boxes. the "chaser" isnt in an exact location every time (from the cases i bought)....but yeah i opened every other one leaving "that one" left unopened. for every other series, there is just A chaser....so you might know the chaser in in that box. but to the best of my knowledge, this is the first series with "different" chasers...so it was like card collecting i suppose. they guarantee say a signature card in each pack....this is the same way...it's guaranteed a chaser...but which one? i had no intention on selling it...i just this was a rare and odd case of "knowing" it could be worth 40 bucks or 200.

i held onto it unopened for a little over a week, and opened it....it was a regular obi-won, which is in no way a let-down....but it was the "excitement" of knowing there is a 50/50 shot of it being a "ghost" chaser :)

well, if it weree me, id wouldnt pay more than 40.00 for it knowing that if it is a chaser...odds are it is the regular one, and i wouldnt wanna pay more than the reg is worth on the open market...and if you would open it and it is the ghost of obi-wan whole new ballgame

Did the OP open this yet?
I picked up a flat @ DSt WDW in Feb for a friend, when he opened the flat there was NO Obi Chaser at all, aside from that there was 4 Storm Troopers. The flat was sealed from DSt, so just bad luck.

That's strange. There have been reports of other odd cases, but not sure of the cause since you are supposed to be guaranteed 2 full sets and a chaser in every sealed case. I'd definitely be upset, but I guess an army of storm troopers is ok.

I didn't know about the Chaser-locating system until reading this thread - kind of sorry I know now. I'm not the sort of person who buys a case (I mean, I only have about 25 VMs at this point anyway, I just started) so for me it's true blind selection, and I prefer to keep it that way. I wouldn't WANT to know how to find them. Of course, a friend who doesn't know anything about VM did find me a chaser in a half empty Muppet box (she bought me 4, 1 chaser, 2 rowlfs and a statler), so I figure at least people aren't stripping the chasers out of ever box that opens in WDW.

Interestingly, the Disney Store near me puts the VMs out on small shelves that wouldn't fit the case, so they have stuff just loose. No way of knowing if you're staring at a whole shelf of the same character. Still, I've been lucky at that store. Bought 6 Toy Story, 5 Villains, 4 Animated, only 1 dupe in the whole pile. No chasers though. I know some of the cast members there are avid collectors, since one of them cornered me for 25 minutes to geek out over them when she saw me buying. She left the cash register unmanned when there was a line so she could talk at me, and then wanted to hold up the line further so I could open my purchases in front of her! A bit nutty, and clearly a serious addict. I wonder if the employees there pull the chasers from cases themselves. That would be depressing.
