Animation 1 Combo - Release Date: February 11th

Hey, sorry if there is already a thread for this. I couldn't find one when i searched.

Do we have any more information on the combo? This weekend will be a week after the animation release so I'm hoping it will come out this week. Also, do we know if any disney stores are getting this as well or just the parks?

The past few combo packs (Urban 5, Park 4 & 5) have released a few weeks after the initial release of the 3" set. They have yet to release a combo pack on the same day as they release the trays. We'll probably be seeing them within a few weeks.

Yeah. It's definitely Simba. I honestly would be surprised if these were sold in Disney Stores. They didn't get any of the 9" Animation #1 vinyls so why should we think that they would sell the combo packs?

All the combo packs have been available online; however, they sell fairly quick. I know that they Park 5 combo pack did not last long. The Urban one lasted the longest online.

No, the combo packs have not been released at the same time as the rest of the series. For example, the Urban 5 series released November 5th and the combo pack released a week later November 12th. The Park 5 series came out October 22 and its combo pack on the 29th.

To my knowledge all the combos have only been sold at the parks. But then again with all the Disney Stores that are not selling Vinylamtions anything can happen but i would not hold my breath

No, to my knowledge, I would assume that the Simba combo pack will not be sold in Disney Stores. All the combo packs in the past have been sold strictly in the parks and on ds.com.

It's crazy to see the excitement based on a picture of the back side of a figure. But I don't blame anyone. Simba and the Lion King are great memories from my childhood. Looking forward to seeing the combo go for sale. I've never had any luck seeing a combo pack at the parks when I've went. So I'll be keeping a keen eye on DS.com for this one.

Yeah I would think we would hear about the release date. I think there is too much hype about this combo pack not to let everyone know about it. Although, they did release the 2011 series without telling anyone. So it is possible I guess.

I think they should of held off on the release of the heyena. It would of been neat to have a lion king series, there is after all plenty of characters to make into vinyls from both movies :)

Yes, he is going to have a tail. Go to vinylmation.com, click on blog, and scroll down to where you choose the month. Click on November and scroll down until you see the back of Simba. You will see that he does have a tail, but it looks like it is shaped a little differently than Mushu's tail.

Yes he has not been released yet, but they have not said when exactly or what time frame that he might be.

If it follows other combo packs, yes, it will be sold online at DS.com. Just keep in mind that it's not official it is just based on past combos being available for purchase at DS.com.

Not too sure actually because when I went in December there were no Park 5 combos to be found but there was an abundance of Urban 5 combos. I guess it depends on the popularity and how many are made. It's also tough to tell because this is just the 4th combo to be released

Usually Disney releases the combos online as well but sometimes its not the same day as a release date in the parks. My best advice if you want to get this one is to keep checking the forum for any updates or the official Disney blog and of course check DS.com regularly. It's going to be a popular item and may sell out quickly. I'm sure as soon as its released on DS.com, someone will mention it on here too. Good luck! I hope you're able to get one too!

They'll only be at D-Street on the release date. Then after a week or two they will be filtered out into stores in the parks.

Well, last Friday when I was at D-Street California, it seemed like there were still plenty of Urban/Park 5 combos left, and they were released in October/November, so I think it is safe to say that this one will last a while.
