Has anyone ever modded a VM with led lights or add-ons like metal pieces for that matter...I haven't decided what I would do but may want to make one with lights in so it would light up. Im pretty handy with a dremel and think I could do it, maybe make light sabers when SW comes out as accessory would be good too. But wanted to see if anyone has come across anything like this in their travels.

I remember someone posting a while ago about putting LEDs in a vinyl. They even had pictures of the process, but for the life of me I can't remember who it was. I think they used a clear and someone took the head off and inserted the lights, but I'm not sure about that. Good luck with your endeavor.

Haunted Collector adds LEDs inside 9"s a lot, so you should check out his customs. And I've definitely seen people add LEDs inside clears, too. Try running through some searches using the search bar on the top right corner of the forums.

 I should have remembered it was you Chris. It would be really cool to make a custom R2D2 that lit up with LEDs. I'm a Star Wars nut.

I made a complete Menorah for my kids this year using Clears and blinking LED's. here is a link to a post I made very early on in the process.

I used 5MM LED's that I bought on eBAY but there are a few members here that sell them also.
I used a drill press and a Forstner bit to put the LEDs in.
1st step was to remove the head and place the vinyl into the drill press upside down - drill through the feet 2/3rds into the body
Then I drilled a second hole from between his 'legs' into the derriere area so I could route the wires out the back
Le tme know if you need any additional info.
