The VN blog gave us a look at 2 figures we can expect to see in series #3 of the Jr.'s

We have a preview of a new previously unannounced series, Vinylmation Jr #3 - Good Luck + Bad Luck. As you might expect from the title, half of the designs in the series focus on items associated with good luck (such as horseshoes, four leaf clovers) and the other half on things associated with bad luck (like friday the 13th, and a broken mirror). Here are two cats, one lucky and one not-so lucky:

Will This Series be Window Boxed or Blind Box?

When Will This Series Be Released

This Series is Scheduled to be Released March 11th in parks, and March 18th online

Best concept for a Jr. series so far. It's perfect, you're blind boxing these little good luck/bad luck charms, like a fortune cookie. I think its really creative.

I have not been a fan of the Jr.'s but these two are actually kind of a fun pair to have.

I think they are cute. Not sure if I will buy any just yet. Will have to wait and see what else they have in them.

I was hoping for more vinyl jr's like serie 2 but these are a pretty cute idea. Might get a couple.

I'm still torn. I've liked both series of Jr.'s so far, and I'm sure I'll pick up a couple of Jr. 3s eventually, but I'm not particularly thrilled. I remember being excited about Jr. 2, especially with all the teasers about the series being character-driven. Jr. 1 was neat, but Jr. 2 was great. It's the same dynamic with Urban series and Park series, and un-coincidentally, Jr. 1 skewed more towards Urban, Jr. 2 towards Park.

With the teaser of the cats and the revelation of the theme, I'm thinking Jr. 3 will skew more towards Urban (possibly setting a pattern). That's not a bad thing, but it's not a particularly exciting thing, either. After all, from a sales perspective, Jr. 2s are long gone, but Jr. 1s are still easy to come by.

I'm reserving my ultimate judgment until Disney has shown us more figures (and revealed something of Jr. 4), but my immediate reaction is that the Star Trek rule might be in effect: the evens are awesome; the odds are just okay.

I wonder when these will be released, I bet they'll be clever and the date will be May 13th (which is the first Friday 13th of the year). I like the concept of the series and the lucky and unlucky cats look great, although I don't collect the Jrs but I might just have to buy the lucky cat.

Interesting idea, but I'm not totally sold on this series. I'll probably only want just the Japanese good luck cat, while horseshoes and broken mirrors don't sound appealing to me. Though I guess I should wait to see them in person first before I judge them.

I wonder if the price point on the Jrs series will remain the same, and if they'll still come with their stickers?

LOL Me too! At DLR the other day I somehow ended up with no fortune in my fortune cookie at lunch. After that I kept getting doubles of everything I blindboxed. I love the jrs, but might be too superstitious to handle this set!

It's a cute idea though and now I really want the lucky cat.

My boyfriend and I were just talking about that the other day, how they seem to alternate. I've never been as into the Urban series as the Park series so I just love Jr Series 2. Series 1 however, for the most part, I could live without. Hopefully Series 4 will go back to the Park type. I don't know why, but I feel like those are just more fitting for mini Vinylmations. It makes them more endearing and special, I think, instead of just being another Vinyl size.

Something coming even sooner is the next Vinylmation, Jr. Series - Good Luck / Bad Luck. It will be released at the D-Street locations in California and Florida on March 11. It is coming to the on-line Disney Park Store on March 18, 2011.

I haven't collected any of the jr's. so far but I will get some of these. I think the good/bad luck thing is a good idea. I just wish they would stop releasing something every week and space it out more.

I'm digging the designs shown so far, could be an interesting set. The jrs are neat but I dont know that I'll be collecting them anytime soon, this set could be cool though so I'll wait and see.

:agree: on both counts. i probably still won't buy these, but i am curious as to the rest of the designs. even the box doesn't give us a hint :lol:

the lucky cat seems to have shifty eyes. i think he's supposed to be looking at the black cat :shrug:

Thanks for posting these! I love the Jrs series but I don't know about this... might get a couple of them but some of them seem a little half-hearted. Cherries are my thing though, so I'm at least trying for getting that one! And the lucky cat. :)

I had higher hopes for this set after seeing the preview of the good luck and bad luck cat. But I really do not see the connection for some of these. The emoticons = good luck/bad luck? Dice on a white background versus on a black background? I guess this set isn't for me.

Well the one set of Dice is a 7 which is good. The other is two ones aka snake eyes which is bad in gambling. Yeah, the emoticons are kinda weak.

When I first saw the pictures for the series, I was instantly drawn into it because of the maneki neko white cat. That's pretty much the only one I want. It doesn't seem like any of the other designs are that great, and i have no idea how emoticons have anything to do with good and bad luck...

Yeah, other than the white cat, the series seems like it wont do that well. How many kids will buy it in hopes of getting snake eyes, dropped salt, etc?

I usually don't like Jr's, always thought they were pointless. However I love the Penny chaser, it just seems to fit the Jr really well.

I agree withother posters, I'm not so sure how well this set will do. With the character Jrs, everyone wanted their favorite character.....what will the average person want to get from this set...nothing really stands out.

I didn't initially think I would like this series, especially since I haven't really collected the jrs. in the past. But I really like some of them. The fortune cookie and lucky penny are really cute.

Long dormant thread, but can't find any other Jr. #3.

I'm still intrigued by this series due to its 50/50 shot of something bad happening every time you open a blind box. I've bought 6 so far, and it's been half good half bad...but opening the foil to see black is a massive downer. It becomes a compulsion to immediately run back in the store and buy another box to turn your luck back to good.

I love the lady bug, clover and good luck horseshoe designs, but haven't found any yet.

Interestingly, this series had been out for months now and it does not yet exist in the user collection area of these forums.

Hopefully the upcoming Small World Jr. set will shine some light on this nearly forgotten, creative series.
