I thought this would be a fun thread to discuss when you've gotten lucky (:-X) at Disney or Universal. It could be anything from the "Dreams" given out by Disney, finding a $20 on the ground, or anything and everything between.

Angela and I really wanted to ride Rock n' Roller Coaster but it had a 70 minute way. We decided to wait it out since we hadn't been on it in a while and we got into the stand by line. After about five minutes we decided we were too impatient and jumped in the Single Riders line to ride separately. When we got up to the front of the line the guy that tells you what row to go to needed to fill some space quickly so he sent us both to Row 10. What would have been a 70 minute wait to ride together, turned into a 10 minute wait counting pre-show. We hardly ever get really lucky in the parks so this was an awesome surprise.

How about you?

hulk was a 90 min. wait and i just got inside the main building. somehow the ride ops were looking for a one person to fill in the first row and i was chosen. that ride felt so much better

In 2007 I was able to go through The Thing my favorite house that year 4 times in a row. With nobody else around me. Dear god I don't know if that was lucky but it sure was fun.

I was outside of SSE when they first opened the refurb wall to guests to preview the new version.

I also won Dream Fastpasses at DAK when I chose to do one of the nature trails out of the blue (usually skip them).

Back in 1999 my family went to Magic Kingdom and were walking into Fantasyland in the morning and saw Winnie the Pooh. We asked a cast member when it was going to open, and she said, today was the grand opening. So lucky for us we got to be there for the opening.

We went to Blizzard Beach on opening day in April 1995, we don't even realise at the time until we got back to the hotel that evening and were told by a Cast Member who had asked us where we'd been that day. Thought the trees looked a little small!

Oh gosh...we've gotten lovely surprises a number of times. A few that stood out though:

In Epcot once I was trying on the Moose Ears...I love Moose... I was goofing around with my baby sister (I'm 30...she's 9...) and the CM came over and inducted me into the Mickey Moose Club with a certificate and everything! LOL

In Disneyland we ate at one of the Character Breakfasts. They were out of the free pin and gave us a different one. They said we could try back later in the week to see if they had the right one. Well...we tried...and they didn't...so the CM reached behind the counter and gave my cousin and I each one of the Tinkerbell DREAM pins!

Back in Epcot my sister was chosen as some sort of Garden Princess of the day or something and got to have her picture taken and some little gifts. And they even gave me a couple little things. LOL

This has happen at least 5 - 6 times while visiting WDW:

While contemplating riding a ToT, or Splash, or some other attraction, we were approached and offered fast-passes by other guests who had too many.. We obliged and enjoyed!!

But I have visited at least 5 times during the "Make a Dream Come True" ordeal and have NEVER even seen the Dream Team.

This isn't as lucky as most of you, but at UO in January I was approached to take a survey. Then I was offered a chance to eat a new flavor granola bar and give my feedback. For my time, I got a few Universal bucks or whatever they're called that I was able to use towards lunch...and the granola bar wasn't half bad.

I remember once a few years ago Mission Space was the new attraction and I really wanted to ride. It was Christmas Eve and an hour wait. I was about to get in line when on my way someone asked if I needed a fastpass and handed me one! This also happened to me once in front of Space Mountain. I was going to get a fastpass and a woman handed me three that she no longer needed.

Once during the dreams promotion we were talking to a cast member at the MGM tip board and after she handed us three fastpasses good for any attraction at the park. Another time we bought the frozen strawberry lemonade at MGM towards park closing time and the cashier said that the lemonade was on Mickey and didn't charge us!

I also remember one time when we were in line for Philharmagic. I tend to stand towards the back to let everyone else get in first, as it helps fill up some of the rows and makes it easier to get a seat in the middle. Well the cast member said that we were behaving so good and asked if we wanted to enter the theater first, through the wheelchair entrance. It was pretty neat.

When something small like this happens it really makes your day!
