I totally agree. I had a strange feeling they did not sell 1,000 units in 4-5 hours that morning, but was discouraged to see Vinylmation.com's blog say they 'sold out'. I'd really like to know the story behind what goes on with the online store. And the low price surprises me greatly. I thought it was a mistake the first day, but obviously not. Why jack prices on everything else by 30 percent, then offer a 9/3 Holiday Combo for $5 more than they normally charge for a single 9"? Like many of you, I would have paid $79.99 for the 9/3.

In fact, as of yesterday I was ready to drop $85 shipped to anyone here who help me out with one. I almost traded D23 Expo and 2009 Spectacle of Dancing Lights for that combo - had the PM set up and ready, but then thought to wait a day and see what materializes. That's how important it is for me to get it. Yes, it's for my wife. And at $45, I was able to get one for her mother as well, who likes anything "snowman". We get her something with a snowman on it every Christmas. And since my wife thinks we missed the boat on getting this combo for her, they'll both have a very merry XMas!

Fearing the backlash of relisting at 75 or 79.99 they just decided to eat it. Imagine the uproar if this had been released today at 79.99

As far as the cheaper price, I think this is just the Vinylmation Team's way of saying "thank you" as a Christmas gift for ALL the money we have spent and made Disney more millions. :) If it was a pricing mistake, there's no way they would go back to selling it at the usual $80, AFTER selling them at $45 earlier. Now people on the trading forums can stop asking for an arm and a leg for a trade... for the time being lol.

They definitely aren't sure how to market this product yet. Of course, I said the same thing about Disney Pixar Mattel Cars, so maybe it's just a Disney trend. Or, maybe they need someone that understands the collector and buyer base in their marketing and release strategy department. I know that because they're Disney they can get away with just about anything, but a little forethought into how these are released and distributed would go a long way toward making their fan base a happier one.

I'll end on a positive note. Thank you Disney for re-listing at the low price of $45. Quite honestly, that should be the rate for these things anyway. $80-$100 for 9/3 combos is slightly insane when you figure a single 9" is $39 and the 3" used to b $10. How they came to $40 for a companion 3" is beyond me. But Disney does this often. Singles for Disney Cars are $4.99. But a four pack of the same cars is $29.99. Not very good at math over there - they need to call Tootles with a calculator ;)

I thought the same thing. It would be nice if Disney could help the collector save in other ways (varying the prices of 9" and 9"/3" combos) since the price of 3" figures went up 30%. It would definitely encourage sales of their more expensive figures.

Another satisfied and patient consumer. Gotta love it. I was so close to pulling the trigger on one for $100, or trading $100 worth of Vinyls for one. Glad I waited. Why by one for twice the price when you can have two ;)

Oddly enough, it's almost 5pm here in the East Coast and Snowglobe STILL is not sold out. Makes me wonder if they really sold 500 on day one or if it was more like 100. When I ordered mine it took a day or 2 for me to get my confirmation from Disney. I was worried when I didn't get one after members posted that they had gotten theirs. I've learned that Disney can be slow especially when its comes to shipping to the West Coast

Took until today to sell out, which is nice as it should have allowed most die hard Vinylmation lovers to get theirs. And hopefully not too many people jumped the gun and paid $100 for them. I feel so very lucky they were re-listed. I got one for my wife and one for her mother, both BIG snowman lovers. I was inches away from buying just one of them for $95. I had the PM typed and ready to send, then decided to wait until morning. I had PM's from four different people letting me know they were back on DS.com.

Unfortunately I missed out on Prancer. That went in a matter of hours, so they likely only got a handful (I'm guessing 50 or so). Now I have to pay shipping for one. Oh well. At least they're not $100 ;)

I finally opened mine yesterday. I couldn't have been more disappointed. Not only is it the new leaning forward mold I heard so much about, but the feet are completely misshapen. The bottoms of the feet are not flat and the right foot lifts up from the surface it is sitting on. And the 3"s head is so loose it spins around like a wheel.

Indeed, I had that thought as well. At $75 I'd be demanding my money back, at $45 I'm just going to grumble a little bit and try not to think about it when I see it on the shelf.

Wow. It sounds like they rushed this one out to meet the Christmas demand and really failed at producing a quality vinyl.

I also think it was a "get it out in time for Christmas" rush project. I have not opened either of mine - don't know which one to keep and which one to trade (hopefully).
This week ABC Family channel starts a week of Pixar Movies - maybe they want to do a tie in with Disney Shopping? Who knows with DS.

I have to agree. I don't know if its just my imagination but the head seems WAY more tilted than my other 9"s...even my graveyard

Yeah, it's really really bad, even his mouth area around his nose is flattened by comparison to other 9".

Honestly, if I had not bought this from DS.com, I would have called this a fake / unauthorized release. It's insane.

the snowman seems to be back on the DS.com website back and fourth.....who knows what is going on w/this Vinyl! i'm just happy that i finally got it because my boyfriend wanted this one SO bad and i was able to get it for him for his bday! sad part about it is when i received it in the mail the box was damaged in the corner pretty badly :(

If you are asking if they were all damaged, no. Some of them, including mine, had paint rubs on the nose or on the chin of the 9". I simply took a Magic Eraser and cleaned up. Mine are now just as they should be. You really can't beat the price on this set.

I bought the Snowgirl separately on eBay with the card for $20, such an awesome holiday vinyl, looks great next to the snowman from Holiday 1. That's funny the actual snow globe vinyl is frowning, why did they change that? Hahaha
