As far as i can tell, only 36 will be custom made right now. Cant imagine at 600 dollars a pop, they'd ever mass produce this same design. Tha's a good way to get some people PO'd.

I think you missed the point of what was said.

He was saying that they are limited to 36 because at $600 dollars people would be very upset if they REISSUED the design later, thus lowering the value and making collectors mad. SnoboardP made no ill comments toward the design or Noah.

However I will say that this design is the most disappointing of his since the Metal Mickeys. They aren't that great, and with a TON of new TRON merchandise being released right now, I would've hoped for more.

There will be 36 pieces in total. 24 at D-Street in California and 12 at D-Street in DTD Orlando, Florida.

Thanks for clarifying my point

I'm gonna agree, the design isnt bad so much but it doesnt live up to the potential here, though I do think the case does add quite a bit of pizazz to the design.

i think these came out 7/17, and its 11/2 and they still have them. they have em almost 4 months now and the AP's get 20% off and they are still sitting on them. depending on when you come out, you shouldnt have a problem. if you are really worried i may be willing to pick one up for you. i'm there a few times a week.

That's cause there was 55 of them made, usually when it's only 24, they sell out within a week - two tops

Didn't see this posted anywhere, so sorry if it's a duplicate, but D Street in Disneyland is holding a special event for one-of-a-kind Tron Vinylmations designed by NOAH on 11/21. The artist will be on site to sign them. It looks like they'll be available at D Street at WDW on the same date, but the artist can't be in two places at once. They come with a stand and look awesome, but unfortunately are retailing for $595. Little too much for me.

Here's the website for the artist:

if the stand/box is the one that noah is showing on his site for this, it takes the vinyl up a notch. the acrylic tall stand for these is kind of cool. with all the tron stuff flooding the market right now though, it would be pretty amazing if these lit up. i guess everyone will have to figure out how to put a little black light under them, that should make them glow pretty good!

November 12, 2010

http://eventservices.disney.go.com/static/vinylmation/images/VMBlog_20101112_NoahTron02.jpg
Mark your calendars for November 21. That is the day that Noah, a Southern California artist who loves Vinylmation™, will be releasing some custom 9-inch figures inspired by TRON: Legacy. Noah has created 24 custom, 9-inch figures to be released at D-Street in Downtown Disney in California, and 12 custom, 9-inch figures for D-Street in Downtown Disney WestSide in Florida. Each figure will retail for $595.00 and comes with a "TRON: Legacy" inspired display case standing 22-inches tall. Noah will be attending the event in California from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to personalize the figures.

Noah shared with us a behind the scenes look at the creation of these custom figures. The above image shows some videogame warriors waiting to enter the Game Grid.

We hope to see you at the event! End of line.

The handrawn stuff is just okay like when he adds paintpen bubbles or designs. His airbrush is the best! The lines look sharp on the first picture of the Tron figure but not too sharp on the group shot.

These vinyls are awesome and there was a lot of detail put into them. Everyone is entiltled to their opinion but once you see them in person you can see the amount of time and effort spent on them. At least the ones in CA had so much detail it was hard to choose which one to get. Noah was such a cool guy and personalized mine that made it look even more amesome!

Noah might be an artist who lives in Southern California but believe me he was not a 'nobody' before Vinylmation. Why don't you check out http://noahfineart.com/index2.html before you jump to your own conclusions? I guess if YOUR life is Vinylmation, and everyone else is a nobody, than your right.

It's okay, I am glad you feel the way you do. That just means less competition for the real collectibles :)

Took a look at these in person at D-street the other day, and I was not impressed with the way the vinyls turned out, the paint job looked a bit sloppy (because those lines are really hard to keep consistent). The gleam was a nice touch though. IMO I liked Evilos' tribute to Tron more so than this one.

The canvas art work was really impressive, though. Big ups to noah on that one. That's what i'd pick up if i had a choice between that and a vinyl.

Thats the problem with this board, people are Not entileted to there opinion and when one person says they dont like something the personal attacks start.I see it on here all the time. my point was that outside Califorina Noah is not very well know and I could give you the names and websites of Florida Artist but until they make a vinly you would not of heard of them either. I am not the only person here that feels that 600 for the tron is worth it. compared to his world of color pieces which i do like, the trons are sloppy, i wish they did look better, i went to DTD with every intention to spend the money but when i saw them in person i passed on it so, someone else could enjoy it

I have read through this thread a couple of times now. I have heard opinions from all sides, seen argumentative discussions, and loved the pics. I also went and took a look at these and went to the signing as I was lucky enough to be at DLR on Sunday. I can see all sides. I own the Noah '55th vinyl. As far as reasons for and against this and all of Noah's vinyls is personal preference. For me, and again this is just me, I enjoy the designs Noah comes out with. The $595 price tag is expensive, however us annual pass holders may use our discount which helps. Even without the discount I most likely would purchase a Noah vinyl. Here is why. When you buy a Noah piece it is a special release of ____. For WoC it was 24 but really it is not 24. Each design, although based on the same concept, is different. Really what you are purchasing is an original 1 of 1. Then each time Noah releases a special design he also has a signing. For 5 or so minutes Noah allows you to see into his world. He shows his appreciation and love. The $600 goes to the entire experience and knowing that you own something that no one else does. That is why I enjoy these vinyls.

While it is true that everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, when a someone reads it they can interpret as rude and therefore respond somewhat upset. I personally try (which doesn't happen all the time but I try) to state my own opinion with out being rude, I won't call something ugly or useless etc. And i try not to make accusations But clearly not everyone does this.

The problem comes when people present their opinion and it is interpretted as rude. For example, when you Stated earlier, "paying for what name, who is NOAH" it can easily be interpreted as rude. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, I'm just saying that this is why it constantly happens. I think you argue your case well and show that you are not actually putting down his work but It's just difficult to interpret one's tone when just reading text or to simply take things out of context

Another example, many may also be offended when things like, "not worth it" are said especially when it's obvious other people find it "worth it". I think it's more appropriate to say, "I cannot personally justify the cost" but no one wants to type all that out. I have purchased 2 Noah pieces myself (DLR 55th Anniversary & WoC) and I don't care about the name I care about the piece itself. And yes it angers me when someone says it wasnt worth the money, but we are not all in the same position

Also, it isn't a problem with this board, it's a problem with any forum. I've joined se Formula 1 forums and it's exactly the same. People hide behind their computer screens and are just plain rude.

Anyways, it is disappointing to hear about the quality of these but I have not seen them in person yet. I would love te stand but hauntedcollector's Tron figure.

thank you Jenn for your advise, my intent was never to come off rude, i was more disapointed. i saved my money to go buy one, then the cast member said i could not use AP discount.and compared to his other pieces I did not feel they were of the same quailty. so i passed on it. Not everyone in the world likes every piece of Art. I am sure the Mona Lisa had some critics

Agree not everybody will like all pieces of Noah's vinyls. i personally love the WOC i have by Noah. but everybody is different and like you say i am sure even today Mona Lisa has her critics:lol::lol:
But to be rude is not acceptable. it can be very hard when writing not to come across as rude as people can interpret words differently and can come to different conclusions.
I agree with Jen it happens on all forums and people do hide behind their computers and think they can be very rude as nobody can see them. A little bit of common sense and courtesy can go a long way.
even in writing it is best to treat people as you your self would like to be treated.
Know i hope that i did not come across as rude.

Also excellent work on Tron Haunted Collector and your new custom they are awesome

funny thing about art and collectibles is they are just like the saying " Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder" to each person they hold a completely different value to some it is just crap with a big price tag to others it is a bargain, and to some still it is priceless. No one can really say what it is to anyone else but themselves.

In reading through this thread I noticed posts about 3" mass produced Tron VM's but I do not see anything else on the Upcoming series page that mentions them any idea of when they might be released, how many and if the are open box or blind boxes

Yeah, I agree. Something is up for sure, most likely waiting for the Blu-Ray/DVD release? Or would also be a great tie in for the Sci-Fi Event coming up.
