Hi everyone,

I was in Disneyland Paris today and I have more news:

1) bad news: DLRP stopped the holiday serie sale because it was an error... then all vinyls are reserve for 2 weeks

2) and the serie is open when is open in the Usa
Around the 15th September

3) no custesters in DLRP

4) Park 3 on sale in November

5) the park 2 3" are sold out
There are still some Incredibles and Mine Mine

Usually they announce the release and Artist Party about a week before they happen. So we could possibly see the announcement for Holiday sometime next week and then the Artist Party announcement the week after if they stay on the same trend they have been on.:rolleyes:

If they stay on the same trend, it will most likely be on a Friday, maybe 9/18 (my birthday), and I realized I have a full schedule that day & probably wouldn't be able to attend :cry:

In time they will. Remember, vinylmation kind of exploded into a really big thing for Disney and they were not prepared to release half of what we have seen. Initial projection had the vinlymation line doing a much lower figure and I think they were only looking to release Park 1 & 2, Urban 1 &2 and Holiday 1. Because they moved up the production schedule, we got to see Clear 1, Park 3 and Cutesters as well. And all the event exclusives were not even in the works either. I know it is sad and a bit disappointing to go to the first night of the event and not be able to walk home with a new vinyl, but in the long run getting it will be worth the wait. I was thrilled to get the Candy Corn vinyl, am anxiously awaiting Food & Wine which was a total surprise that one would be here this year, and can't wait for the other Holiday event exclusives.:happy::clap::happy::clap:

Once we hit 2010 and they can get all the kinks worked out of the production and shipping, we will see a smoother flow of vinyls and hopefully their appearance at the first night of an event!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Park #3 series will be released somewhere mid December.
And since they have a lot less cases to start with, it's no surprise that the 3" vinyls are sold out.
The Park #2 series was sold out after about 4 weeks and the Holidays series about the same.
The only ones left are the 9", because they are quit expensive for us in DLP (39,90 euros = about 58,00 USD).
When I was there for Halloween Night they even had 2 or 3 sets of the Incredibles left (74,90 euros = about 110,00 USD).

To clarify a bit, they only look at the locations in the following manner:

WDW - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Resorts, Disney Cruise Lines & World of Disney NYC
DLR - Magic Kingdom, Disney's California Adventure & Downtown Disney
Disneyland Paris - Magic Kingdom

So really it is 3 areas, and then sub areas within each area. For example, all of the allocation for WDW goes to the merchandise warehouse. There they use a distribution system that sends out an initial shipment to each location at WDW or Disney Cruise Line (yes, same warehouse) or World of Disney NYC. As the locations sell the vinyls, they get replenishment orders till the warehouse is depleted.

As to how many, there has to be some percent they have put in place based on the size of the areas. Disneyland Paris is probably getting a few as they are probably testing it there to see how it sells before they send too many and not get the sales they want.

I guess it's a Disney policy : not only for the Vinylmation but also for the WDCC collection these prices here in DLP are 'made' the same way.
They keep the amount in USD and only change the currency into euros.

Our UK collectors have more luck with the exchange rate of their pound.

I think it's more to do with general costs involved. Generally the prices are pretty comparable between basic wages and the prices.

I.e
basic wage in US is around $7.25, 3" costs $10.
basic wage in France is around €8.82, 3" costs €10.

It just so happens that €8.82 = $12.20 ish with the exchange rate.

FYI the UK minimum wage is £5.60 which is around $9, I'm sure they would still charge us £10 if they ever sold them in the UK though!

I believe at one time they were supposed to be open windowed so you knew which one you were getting, but things change you know. Alot of mystery with this series it seems. When I lived in Germany, another American living there (so this may be wrong) told me that the conversion from each countries' individual currency to the euro really screwed with the value of their products because they only change the currency on the price tags, not the numbers. How it was explain to me was this:

before the Euro (1 US dollar to roughly more valuable the Germany's current currency)
A steak in USA = $10
Same steak in Germany = 15 deutch marks

after the Euro (The dollar less valuable usually floats around 3 euros to 4 us dollars, or 75 euro cents to 1 dollar)

Steak in USA = $10
Steak in Germany = 15 Euros

now that steak in American dollars jumped from roughly $10 to $20

Videogames while I lived in Germany general cost around 80 US dollars when converted.

Sorry if this is confusing, and honestly My friend may have been wrong about the specifics, but he had lived in Germany for almost 10 years when I left in 2007.

What we have been told about "Oh Mickey!" is that it is open edition and there are only 4 designs. They were made to be integrated into this whole product line that is coming to the parks. Last Friday when I went to Epcot to get the Flower & Garden vinyl they had gotten some of the new product in at Mousegear (no vinyls) though. It's t-shirts, pens, boxers, pants, plush, pins, pens, hats, etc.. The vinyls will have no artist associated with them as the designs were simply taken from the product and that they will be window boxed.

I have a feeling that it might be a pin in the shape of the vinylmation figure. Just like the vinylmation mystery box pins we have here in the states. That will really be a very good deal @ 14.95USD a piece. A little wishful thinking on my part anyway.

A box of the mystery pins has 2 pins in it and sells for $12.95 (Park series) or $16.00 (Urban series).

Went to Paris this weekend. According to the CM who is responsible for Vinylmations in Paris, they are selling BIG! On sale were Muppets, Cutesters, Urban 3, Park 3, Oh Mickey and Create your Own. Just 1 shop in the Walt Disney Studios was selling Park 4. They also had a lot of 9" available. It seems like these sell a lot less then 3" ones.

Can anyone give me a list of ALL stores at DLRP who sell Vinylmations? I'm also looking for European collectors (I'm in Belgium) to trade.

I don't know if I can say this officially, but I had a chat yesterday with someone from DLRP and he/she confirmed to me that there will be comming exclusive vinyls to Paris. My source would not give me any further details (themes, release dates) only that they had green light to have them made. I think it will take several months before they get released, because they probably haven't even been designed yet, so I don't expect them before late 2010.

I was so excited I couldn't sleep yesterday. lol

I went to Disneyland Paris again this weekend. There are still A LOT of 3" figures of Cutesters, Urban 3, Park 4 and Oh, Mickey. Also every 9" figure of park 4 is available. Including Sully & Boo. They're for sale in 3 stores; one in Disney park, one in Studios and one in Village. At the store in the Studio's park, they have a couple of figures behind the counter that you can trade with.

They have a special pin-trading night once a month, where it is also possible to trade Vinylmation, and the day after, there is a special shop open in the park where you can trade!
The castmember i spoke to about the collection, told me the figures are finally becoming popular and will probably be around for a long time. Great news!! I only forgot to ask about any new collections, because i had just made the most amazing trade ever, so i was speechless. :P

I went to DLR Paris this week-end. "Toy Story" serie would be arrive in June and "Star Wars" in August ; Urban 4 woulb arrive soon but they didn't have a date.
I bought the set "Sully and Boo" (for me -I had reserved mine and it's remains only some) , the Lion King and Peter Pan in 9" while I had decided well to collect only 3 "!
It begins to hurt savings, especially that I also like the Jr (which will not normally go out in France.

Well, the trade is a pretty long story i think. :P So here goes...

Then i went to the special little shop in the park where you can trade, and there they had a Crowned Hearts Cutester! One of the 3 more i needed! So i traded it for a double one i just got, and told the really nice man who worked there which other ones i needed, (he remembered me from last time we where there, about a month ago!!) he said he would save it for me if he got it, since he would be there 'till 4pm and it was only 1-ish, so i would come back later to check. In the meantime i bought two more Cutesters, and traded one for a Park #4 TOT one.

When he saw us coming back around 4, he called us over, opened his bag of VM's and there it was: a Cinderella Castle Cutester!! :D One i had already given up on getting. Someone traded it and he saved it for me!! So i traded the other double Cutester i had and was REALLY REALLY HAPPY!!!! I can't stop looking at it, it's so much better then on the pictures.

No i didn't get the Sully and Boo one, i didn't think i could really afford it. Now i'm really sorry because it turns out i have more money then i thought i had at the moment!! :(
We will go back, but only in a few months i think...

Does anybody know if it is possible to call DLRP and reserve one??

The best is "to reserve" your vinylmations with a Cast Members which you know, but there is an address at which we can place order (DLP.MAIL.ORDER@disney.com) . I have never used it, thus I cannot say to you if it works and I return in Paris only at the end of August, thus I could not repair you, sorry.

The place where you have to make your exchanges this weekend is called " Pueblo Trading Post " (for those who know) the other days, the " CM vinylmation " are in Harrington's in Main Street.

The last time I've visited DL Paris I've taken some pictures of how they display the Vinylmations.

As you can see in the pictures, they still have a lot of 9" to sell. That certainly has something to do with the prices :

The edition size is the same. There is no edition size change or special edition size for the 9" vinyls. For international parks, they just change the language on the packaging. Like any other collectible, they just split the edition between the countries they sell them in and distribute them that way.

I had another great visit to DLRP this weekend. Here are some headlines:
3"s on sale were: Urban 3, Urban 4, Park 4, Cutesters, Muppets and Create your own.
9"s on sale: Park 4: Festival of the Lion King, Peter Pan's Flight, World Showcase
Park 3: Fantasyland Trash Can, Mickey Rizzo,
Urban 3: Birds on a Wire, Speech bubbles, Blue Monsters set
I also found 1 lost Holiday 1 Turkey 9".
A CM shared a releaselist and according to the list we are getting a new set at the end of each month.
July 26th: Toy Story
August 27th: Nightmare before Christmas
September: Big Eyes
October: Star Wars
I'm just telling what the list said. It seems like they switched Star Wars and NBC releases here.
DLRP exclusive vinyls are still in the pipeline, however there was nothing official.

Not an odd question :D. But it depends on the store, they sometimes have full cases out, underneath the opened ones with blind boxes. Otherwise you can just ask (they don't get that question alot, so be prepared for weird looks :))

But i'm afraid you'll have a hard time finding a whole case of Cutesters... Last time i was there, the only place they still had them, was inside the Sleeping Beauty Castle, and only a few blindboxes were left... :( But who knows, they might still have some cases in the back, it would never hurt to ask!!!! Good luck :)

Right now, what you can find in DLRP are Cutesters (and I'm sure you can find whole cases, they had one in Harringtons on Main Street just 2 days ago) , Oh Mickeys, Park 4, Urban 4, Create your Own, Toy Story, Muppets, Big Eyes, and I think they have received Junior 1.
I'm not sure but I think the Nightmare series will come out on October 2nd as they have anounced a Pin Trading Day starring Jack from Nightmare and in DLRP, pins and Vinylmations are run by the same team so I think we can expect a release of the series on that day...

Yes, for the United States. Typically Disneyland Paris does not have the same release dates as the US stores. Don't complain though - many of theirs happened after ours, not before!

How big is the edition size for UP? Also what is the price for one?
The edition size is 1000 but not sure about the price.

Yes we have the same price of you guys, with one "little" difference : they keep the numbers and change the currency into euros.
So we pay a bit more than you have to pay :-(

That reallllllllly sucks that the use the same number with a € in front instead of a $. Hardly seems fair! In fact it almost seems as though who ever did the pricing at the international distribution center didn't know there was an exchange difference between the two denominations!

Sorry I forgot to tell you the price for the 3" : 12,95 euros (so it will be 12.95 USD).


According to the CM in charge of the Vinylmations Paris will also get the Celebrations and the Nerds.
But we won't have the Urban 6, nor the Muppets 2.
So now I will have to go searching for a case of both of them in the US :-(

3) September: Alice in Wonderland: serie of 12 3" + 9" and 9" combo

I have some rumors too, about the Animation 2 for the end of the year;
Some cast members said me some rumors about Pinocchio but no information more, I don't know if it's a serie, in the next park included or in the animation serie...

I think the Crying 9" and cheshire cat double pack where available in DLP...
Animation 2 got released there last week.... also you have the 20th anniversary, park 8's, park 6, toy story, AIW, star wars, pirates.... robots 2, cutesters at the beach, plus a few older series as well... if your putting in a order with DLP mail order, you can always just ask
