the classic question is being asked again. universal or islands of adventure

its a tough question but imma roll with universal just because its the original and it puts you in the middle(well sort of) of some classic films and you can "ride the movies' but dont get me wrong IOA is just good as universal but universal was there first

Hmmmmm....hard question. I like IoA better as far a rides, but I think the themeing of Universal is better...imo.

I like everything about IOA better than Universal. I like the rides better and the themed lands better. The only thing that Universal has better than IOA is the "stunt" show. Yes, Fear Factor, is better than Sinbad.

Ok, so everything is telling me I should like IOA better. It's newer, got more technology, way more immersive themeing and all the "top" rides - but I just don't. I can't explain it but I just love Universal - probably for it being the vintage park.

Can't decide, love them both equally :)

For me its gotta be Universal because of its theming, I also love IOA for its unique way of changing the them completely as the islands vary...

Universal, hands down. Even though it has less rides, it's what I grew up on.

Universal, i'm more into the film production, so definitely Universal more than IOA. But I think that DHS does a better job of "Riding the Movies" than Universal does, but Universal does have some good rides dont get me wrong.

im more of a universal guy but i do agree about "riding the movies" thing but the movie rides that universal do right it without a doubt gives disney a run for their money

IOA... no contest at all. Any park with Spiderman is bound to win.

A few weeks ago I would have said IOA because I'm a thrill seeker. But, then I went to Universal Studios and I just got lost in the theming. I could spend a whole day there just looking around and it is more vintage. So, Universal over IOA by a smidge.

IOA. Better rides and I love the theming in each different "island".

IOA. I actually feel like I'm in the 21st century at that park.

Most of Universal is outdated. Even their refurbishments like Disaster and Simpsons feel dated. Better technology at IOA by far. With rides like Spiderman and Hulk, they really raised the bar.

Universal for me. I love the classic feel. IOA is good but I feel like it's almost all thrill rides, which I'm not always in the mood for. I love Suess Landing but I feel like it's sometimes the only thing I do at IOA. Marvel is all thrill rides. I would go on Spiderman but the line is usually long. Toon has the water rides but you get soaked on them. Also it's a bit hard to fit on Dudley with the adjustments they made. I go on Jurassic Park and visit Camp Jurassic. I like Poseidon but no one with me ever wants to go on. So usually when I go to IOA I go on Spiderman, Jurassic Park and the Suess Landing rides which usually only takes about two hours depending on crowds. I feel like there is more for my particular tastes at the old park.

I might take you a while to say 'Universal' the way things are looking, haha.

Im really not even excited about HRRR. I'm not going to renew my universal pass for it and I feel if I ride it I ride it.

I just got back from Universal. I rode HRRR. Totally not worth the wait. I went with my family and got their early got into park and waited in line for maybe 40 mins. Had to listen to the song choices over and over again. Got on the ride. Picked song. It was the shortest ride... I would rather ride the Hulk over and over again. It was just "eh"! When we got off the ride... the line was 180 mins! It was ridiculous.

Yeah I don't really plan on riding it again. Ever. The wait sucked. The timing of the music sucked. The 8 hour headache that followed sucked. The ride sucked. It was just a whole lot of suck.
Twice was plenty for my lifetime.

IOA for the rides and Universal for the fun movie stuff they have. I'd like to see more shows though. Maybe like an Indiana Jones type show would be nice.

IOA is faaaaar better than Universal. The theming is incredible over there. The lands do not blend together all that well, but the work they have done is pretty good. And I would vote for IOA simply based on Harry Potter World. They really did a magnificent job with that section, although I wish it was larger.
