Occupations are scheduled to be released March 4th

Is this a Blind Box Series or a Window Boxed Series?

The Occupation Vinylmations will be Window Boxed and will come with a mystery Jr.

Additional Info about this Series from the Blog:

These open edition figures will be sold in an open window box and feature a 3" figure plus one of three mystery Vinylmation™ Jr. 1.5" Figure of a similar theme.

There are ten 3" figures and 30 1.5" figures in the complete series. Look for more previews over the upcoming days.

I really love the teacher set because I know they will probably not make a vinyl for writers (tho they did hint about one for bloggers), but the teacher set comes close enough for me. Plus, I'm taking classes to be a Paraeducator ;-)

I'm actually surprised they didn't release a military set yet. I thought they would preview one at Trade City for sure...I was shocked when they didn't. Then, I thought it would be part of the Occupations set (although they haven't released all the designs yet, so we don't know that its not included).

I'm sure they'll release a set soon...just my opinion but I think it would be neat to make an open-boxed set (like the Oh Mickeys) with a 1 1/2" of each branches flag. That would be a neat set!

They still won't sell. :rolleyes: I don't really know why anyone would want an Occupations vinyl, especially the average park guest. That's another thing that drives sales: curiosity from the regular park guest. These vinyls are just too focused on very specific groups.

Yeah, I do think that these have the potential to be popular with kids. I mean, I know that when I was in elementary school and we'd go during the school year, my mom would help me pick out a small gift to bring back for my teacher. If these were out when I was little, I so would have brought her back one of these (but I probably wouldn't tell her it came with a jr, and kept the mystery jr for myself :idea: :lol:)

I work in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) field and would love to see EMT/Paramedic profession. Day in and Day out Police and Fire get all the credit for helping/saving people thanks to the media, but the EMT's and Paramedics are the ones who are actually "saving peoples lives" on scene, enroute to the hosplitals. Now I am not taking anything away from Police/Fire workers as they have very important role in our communities but a little credit everywhere would be nice. Very thankless job I guess, but nontheless I LOVE IT!!!

I think it is something similar to the sports series. It will be one 3" and 1 Jr per window box, of which there will be three different designs but you only get 1 Jr in the box.
So 10 different occupations and 3 Jr's per design = 30 Jrs :)

If you want a set like the one pictured, it's going to cost you!

I for one think that Disney is going release crazy, with so many sets being introduced and released so far this year, its only been 2 months and how many sets have we gotten? star wars, animation, cutesters too, villains, nerds rock, and don't get me started on the 9 inches. They should really space things out more through out the year and fewer per year, to increase the hype, and not keep us broke every time something is released.

It's not the first time they've done this for the Vinylmation line. The Oh Mickey series had only four 3" designs that were open windowed, but there were six 1.5" mystery Jrs. The open window Sports series also had eight 3" designs with ten 1.5" mystery Jrs.

That's true, and that is the first thing that came to mind when they announced how this series was set up. However, it IS unique in that there are ten different subsets of Jr.'s that will only be found in their specific "parent" 3" vinyl, whereas ANY sports 3" could contain ANY of the Jr.'s. That's what makes this series different than anything they've done before. I don't think I'll bother trying to get all 30 Jr. vinyls, but it would be nice if these Jr.'s qualify for trading at D-Street (i.e. they come with a keychain connector, since that's the only rule I've ever been told qualifies a Jr. as being "tradeable").

I will be very interested to see what other occupations are introduced and their jr's. I'm still trying to get my last Oh Mickey Jr. so this set will be very interesting, especially for those completists out there who are going to go for all of them. There might be lots of these in the trading cases soon from those trying to get the jr's.

I think this is a good series to bring in those that would not otherwise collect the series. I myself am not a huge fan of most of them, but rather like some of the jr ones. But this will be a very hard/expensive set to complete since there are 3 mystery jr's for each 3' vinyl. And I agree with the previous poster that this is one set I will likely be able to stay away from.

I really like the occupations (esp the jrs, the fire dog is pretty cool!) but i dont think i'll be getting any of these because none of these occupations pertain to me :(

Yeah hopefully someone does... I really want the teacher one! Don't care so much about the jr's. The only one I own is on my keyring (cheshire cat).

There's is someone pre-selling them on eBay for 19.99 plues 3.00 s+h, so I'd imagine they don't cost more than that... Unless the person is a CM or passholder, which is possible.

I just checked the Vinylmation website and they show 31 of the 1.5" Vinylmation Jrs. Looks like the Police has 4 Jrs, while the rest only have 3.....or is it just me? lol.

I don't like the 3" ones but I do like the dalmatian and police dog jr's. So I guess I'll have to buy the fireman and police ones and hope I get the doggies. I wish they had made a zookeeper one. But I guess that's not a "normal" occupation for them.

I think they made a mistake somewhere or the Police Officer has 4 jrs.
I saw the red light, blue light, handcuffs and k-9 so it looks like the officer has 4 instead of 3 jrs to blind box. Uugghhhh Im gonna go broke with this :cry:

Some of these are pretty creative, most I'll pass on buying tho. Definitely want the fireman set! I think the dalmatian is the best. And I love that they are putting the extra clears to good use..LoL :)

I saw these at D-Street and a few I couldn't figure out what occupations they were supposed to represent. The boxes do not display any description. I honestly don't think I like any of them.

Wasn't it reported that one of the police jrs (the siren lights) will have 2 versions (or the normal version and 1 variant). You can get either the red or blue one.

My thoughts exactly. On a side note, I kind of feel like they're releasing too many series for the sake of profit now. What I mean is, they're kind of getting away from the Disney aspect of it all with some of the Urbans and now these. What's next, a Months of the Year series where each figure just has the name of the month written across the chest? "March?! Woo-hoo!" I hope they don't flood the market and run it into the ground with the high rate of new series coming out this past year.

I'm definitely not against people who dig these enjoying them, though! Diffferent strokes...
