After my post count reaches 50, the trade/sell forum will "show up"? I am very, VERY new at collecting Vinyls, so I don't have any to trade, but I thought I could browse the trade forum and see what was out there because I am going to WDW in 3 weeks and you never know what I may come back with.

So, am I correct in that the Trade forum won't even show up until I have reached the post count, or am I just too dumb to find it??:yikes:

No, you're not missing anything  The trade/sell forum will not show up until you are qualified to trade and sell. I'm sure when you come back, you'll be able to post your trades and extras soon enough. ;-)

Hope this helps, and again welcome!

In terms of what is "out there" right now you can find Urban 3 & 4 (Urban 2 is getting harder to find at WDW), Muppets, Have A Laugh, Cutesters, Holiday 1, Toy Story and Park 3 in terms of what is available that is blind boxed. In the window boxed category there is Nightmare Before Christmas, Animal Kingdom, Oh Mickey!, Sports and Big Eyes. Also both Jr. series are available. For 9" all that is really out there is Urban 4 9" designs, Toy Story and some reports of the Santa Jack w/ Elf from NBC, and a couple of the 10th Anniversary of Pin Trading. Also some both of the 2010 Marathon vinyls are available - 3" & 9".

At the Toy Story release I don't remember if there were any Trade City Day of the Dead designs left or not, and they have been keeping the 3" Trade City vinyl w/pin and tin behind the curtains so you have to ask to see if they are available. Mr. Toad has been available but you need be a WDW Annual Passholder to purchase it, and coming Friday the 24th of Septemeber is the 3" DVC Exclusive (which again you need to be a member to purchase).

Finally, they do still have some of the Billiard sets available.

In terms of gaining access to the Trade/Sell section, that would be more of a mx of old and new and not a good representation of what is available in the parks. Once you get to your 50 contributing posts, you'll gain access and be able to see what is up for trade/sell. Take the time now to get to know the members and let them get to know you. Many members tend to stay away from newer members at first in terms of trading till the new member has time to build up their reputation and prove that they contribute to the forums/threads with more then just simple posts. 50 may seem high but it is based on the feedback we get from existing members asking for a longer period before new members can gain access and it gives them an opportunity to get to know the new members better before doing any trading.

Thank you, Mouseman74, for the information.

I want to make it clear that I am not arguing the rule of needing 50 posts before being able to trade on the forum. I am not offended by the rule at all. I understand the need to protect your members and I respect that.

I read the line about people posting before they reached the 50 post limit could be banned from the site and I kept thinking to myself that I couldn't even find the forum, much less post! So, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't totally missing something!

Thanks again for the in depth info! Can't wait for my trip to see what I can get!
